Chapter 9

9. First day

My Neighbor (GirlxGirl)

My alarm wakes me up at 7 and I grump as I get out of bed.

Eve has been successfully ignoring me for three days. And today is the first day of school.

I decid to go for my favorite washed up denims and a blue and brown sweater, not really bothering. I go to my bathroom and fix myself up a little. Although I am not happy about summer being over, I am anticipating this senior year a lot.

My head has been wrapped around Eve. All the time, everyday. I am occasionally seeing her. Sometimes Harvey comes home, but never stays long. I doubt she has talked to him about the things that she admitted to me some nights ago. I feel sad about Cindy. I promised her that I would go with her to this record store but it's so hard to face Eve after what I allowed myself to do the other day.

I get out of my thoughts about my beautiful neighbor and brush my teeth and hair. I then apply a little makeup and make sure I have everything I need to go. I take my black backpack, keys, phone and earphones before making my way downstairs.

Once there I see my dad with a cup of coffee. I havent been seeing him a lot these days but he looks better than the last time I called him out. Healthier and happier.

"Hi dad" I greet him

"Hi sweetie, ready for school?" He asks me

"Yeah I guess" I say as I open the fridge and take out an avocado.

I make my toast while he works.

"I met the neighbours this morning, finally" He says and my heart immediately starts racing

"You did?" I ask, trying not to let it show

"Yeah! They're nice people" He nods as I wait for my toast

"Mhm" I agree and the toaster clicks

"Why didn't you tell me you were over at theirs the other night?" He asks and my heart drops

How would he know? Did Eve says something?

"I just didn't think of it" I say, hoping he doesn't know

"The younger daughter was really excited about you once I said I'm your dad" He says and my heart rate slows down

"Oh, yeah, she's great" I laugh subtly, knowing Cami was probably very open to my dad as well

"Yeah. Husband's a very nice man too. He's working so hard for his family" My dad comments absent minded

I nod but don't say anything to him.

**

After around 15 minutes, someone knocks on the door and I know it's Neil.

"Bye dad!" I say and rush out the door

Neil waits for me, skateboard in hand.

I take my bike from the garage and roll my eyes "You forgot your backpack" I say

"Don't need those" He says

I get on my bike and get closer to him so he can hold on to my seat while skating.

"Let's get started with that senior year shall we" I say as he chuckles and we ride to school

**

Once we arrive I stare in disgust at the amount of people and huge buildings of my high school. I truly didn't miss this place.

Neil says hi to some people while I make my way to the lockers, not waiting on him.

"Hi Alex" I hear a familiar voice say behind me. Casey. Truly not the first person I hoped to talk to today

"Hi" I reply quietly

"Happy to be here?" She asks, knowing my answer

"So happy" I reply sarcastically

"Do you need to get to your locker? I need to leave some stuff too, can I come?" She says

"Sure" I agree, not wanting to be mean. She did apologise to me so it wouldn't be fair of me to completely disregard her.

As we walk to our lockers that happen to be next to each other, she starts talking to me about what she did during the summer and how her and her boyfriend have this amazing connection. I nod respectfully and make a couple meaningless nice comments here and there.

"How about you? What did you do this summer?" She asks me interested

"Not much but it was chill" I reply, not wanting to get into the details of crushing on my new neighbor or whatever else happened to me.

"Any new person on the horizon?" She asks giggling, like she used to do

"Not really" I lie

"Mhm sure" she says and I wonder why she doesn't believe me.

After a while, Neil comes up to us with another guy besides him that I've never seen before.

"Hey guys! That's Sam!" He says while presenting the other dude.

"Hey guys I'm Sam" He says awkwardly imitating Neil.

"Nice to meet you Sam I'm Alex" I say

He smiles awkwardly "I'm new" He says

"Ohh I was wondering why I hadn't seen you before lol" Casey adds in

Sam looks like a slightly weirder version of Neil, considering Neil is already weird enough. His long dark hair is falling on his shoulders and his red "white snake" tee is ripped, as well as his jeans. He is wearing a beanie although it's at least 80 degrees outside. His aura is really warm. I smile at him, welcoming him into the new school.

"Where are you from?" I ask him

"I'm from Sweden actually, I'm only in America for a year" He says and I nod, impressed

"So like an exchange?" Casey says

"No my parents moved for work but it's a short contract" he says and she nods

"Well I need to go, nice meeting you Sam and nice seeing you babe" she says and kisses me on the cheek.

Neil, Sam and I decide to check our schedules that are online and go to our respective classes.

I sigh when I check my phone. I start with Maths, then English, then Geography, then Spanish. It could be worse.

"Do we have classes together?" Neil asks me and takes my phone

After a sec he gives it back "Yeah most of them, what about you Sam" He says and takes his phone

I hear the second bell ring "I'm gonna go take a good place in the back" I say and wave. I don't know why I'm in such a bad mood today. I wish Eve would talk to me. Oh, that's why.

I get to maths and directly look for seats in the back. A couple of people turn heads and some greet me. I take two seats in the back.

"These ones are taken beautiful" Some guy that I've never seen before tells me

"They look free to me" I say, annoying at how arrogant this guy seems. I've never seen him before and he walks up to me as if he owns the place.

"So you don't mind me sitting next to you then?" He says

"Actually my friend is about to come" I say "But sure sit on the other side" I say not really getting where this is going

"Okay" he says and sits down on my left "So what's your name?" He asks. I am not in the mood.

"Alex" I say

"Alex. I'm Alex too." He says and I chuckle

"Cool" I say

"Everyone sit down please I will take the attendance." The teacher says. He seems to be the most boring person ever. And his name is Mr. Gilbert.

After everyone took a seat he starts calling our names out and I notice that Neil is still missing. Where the hell is he?

"Carson Neil? Absent?" He says

"Actually Sir he's probably late" I say

"Well I don't care much" the teacher says and I roll my eyes

"Hi sorry I'm here!!!!!" Neil says while barging through the door along with Sam, donuts in hand

Some laugh subtly at his sudden arrival and he spots me and comes sit next to me. He hands me a donut and Sam sits next to him, smiling at me.

The teacher rolls his eyes and keeps calling on people.

"Who are you?" Neil asks the guy next to me

"I'm Alex" he says

"No she's Alex" Neil says confused

"I'm also Alex" He says

"Oh.. I don't have enough braincells for this. I'll just call you X" Neil says and I laugh

I feel her body against my back and shiver at her touch. She wraps her arms around me and starts kissing my neck. I try turning around but she pins me to the shower wall.

"Eve.." I whimper

"Shht" she says and touches me where I've been dying for her

"Mh you're so wet for me" She says and bites on my neck while inserting a finger into me

"Eve fuck!"

"Alex!!!!!" I am woken up by Neil screaming my name

I look around super flustered and confused. What on earth just happened.

"You fell asleep dumbass, the bells gone" He says

I nod and stand up, still confused that I fell asleep

Neil comes up to me and whispers in my ear "Oh Eve, harder mmm" He moans and I punch him hard

"Neil what the fuck???" I say hoping I did not just hear this, knowing damn well what I was just dreaming about

"I'm just kidding you Jesus ouch" He says and I exhale

"Whos Eve?" Sam chuckles and I blush even harder

"No one" I reply
