Chapter 1216
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
âGreat! Tell me what happened between Joanne and my brother so I can help mend their relationship,â Renee said happily.
Stefan raised an eyebrow. âNo.â
Renee blinked at him, dumbfounded.
A slow smirk curved his lips. âI know what happened, but why should I tell you?â
âYouâ¦â Renee was about to curse him, but stopped herself. Gritting her teeth, she forced a smile onto her face and said sweetly, âMr. Hunt, Master Hunt, Stefan⦠please tell me. You know how important this is to me. Just do something good and help a girl out, okay?â
Stefan replied with a shrug, âIâm sorry, I donât feel like doing something good.â
âWhat?â
âI said⦠I wonât do it.â
Reneeâs eye started to twitch. Was this man trying to be funny? âI appreciate your efforts in trying to make a joke, but please donât do it ever again.â
Stefan stared closely at her and smirked. âMaybe you have something you can offer me instead.â
Reneeâs eyes widened slightly. âAre you kidding me right now? Donât you have any empathy? If we resolve the grudge between my brother, you, and Joanne, wouldnât it be good for all of us? Our families could finally work together! Why donât you want to tell me what happened?â
âThe foundation of cooperation is compatibility, so you have to make me happy before we cooperate. Once Iâm happy, Iâll tell you everything,â Stefan said meaningfully.
âYouâre ridiculous!â She clenched her fists, controlling her urge to hit him. She knew that cunning fox of a man was trying to trap her, but she was left with no other options.
She could only willingly walk into his trap, and that infuriated her. âWhat is it you want from me?â
âI told you⦠Youâve got to make me happy.â Stefanâs eyes gleamed victoriously.
âThat same old storyâ¦â Renee growled.
âLet me think⦠Iâm hungry now. Eat with me.â
âNo, I donâtâ¦â Renee was about to refuse, but paused.
Narrowing her eyes, she forced herself to say, âSure. Master Hunt, what would you like to eat? Iâd love to accompany you.
I guarantee that youâll have a great meal.â
Stefan was amused by the glare she was giving him, and said solemnly, âI would like to have Western food today.â
âSure, letâs go. Iâll even pour your wine for you and cut up your steak for you,â Renee muttered furiously under her breath and bowed sarcastically.
Stefan rolled his eyes and walked past her, looking very proud of himself.
They had just stepped out of the elevator when they saw someone walking towards them-it was none other than Seraphina, Stefanâs fiancee.
Stefanâs expression changed slightly, and Renee couldnât tell if he was happy or upset.
Renee subconsciously stepped away from him, feeling like a homewrecker that had been caught in the act.
âStefan!â Seraphina threw her arms around his neck and hugged him, then kissed him deeply. âI finally found you! Do you know how much Iâve suffered? They nearly caught me and got me into telecom fraud!â
