(Ruhanika)
After dinner, the family gathered in the cozy living room, sharing stories and laughter that extended the warmth of their meal. The room was filled with a comforting sense of togetherness as everyone relaxed, enjoying each other's company. Soft chuckles and quiet conversations filled the air, with a few good-natured teases mixed in, bringing smiles to every face. Gradually, as the night wore on, everyone began to feel the gentle pull of sleep. Gradually, family members started saying their goodnights, exchanging smiles and affectionate glances as they headed toward their rooms.
Rudraksh: "Kartavya bhai, Do minute mere naal aayo na, kuch important gal karni si."
(Kartavya bhai, can you come with me for a couple of minutes? I need to discuss something important.)
Ruhanika: "Jii kya aap humare sath nahi aa rahe ???"
(Aren't you coming with me?)
Rudraksh: "Sohneyo bas 10 minute me aaya, tum jao room me."
(My love, I'll be there in just 10 minutes. You go ahead to the room.)
Ruhanika nodded and, along with the others, headed to their respective rooms for the night. However, Rudraksh and Kartavya exchanged a look, silently agreeing to stay behind. They quietly made their way to the study room, closing the door softly behind them. Once inside, Rudraksh turned the lock, ensuring their conversation would remain private.
Kartavya: "Kya baat hai, kya kaha little sunshine ne??"
(What's up? What did Little Sunshine say?)
Rudraksh and Kartavya settled onto the couch, the weight of the dayâs events lingering between them. Rudraksh leaned back, resting his head against the headrest, and closed his eyes, exhaling slowly. His mind replayed the intense moments with Ruhanika, each memory stirring emotions he couldnât easily shake.
Kartavya: "Rudraaa"
Rudraksh: "Bhai, us raat mujhe bachane wali koi aur nahi balki meri Ruhh thi."
(Bhai, the one who saved me that night was none other than my Ruh.)
Kartavyaâs eyes widened in shock as he looked over at Rudraksh.
Kartavya: "The incident from 17 years ago??"
Rudraksh nodded slowly.
Kartavya: "Howâs that possible?"
Rudraksh: "Ruhhh ne bataya sab kuch, and usse mujhe ek doubt aaya hai ab."
(Ruhhh told me everything, and now I have a suspicion.)
Kartavya: "Kya bataya??"
(What did she say?)
Rudraksh recounted everything Ruhanika had shared with him about that night 17 years ago. As he spoke, the weight of each word seemed to fill the room, and Kartavya listened intently, his expression shifting from concern to shock. The details Ruhanika revealed were unexpected and painted a picture that neither of them had anticipated. Kartavyaâs brow furrowed, trying to comprehend the gravity of what Rudraksh had just told him. The room fell silent for a moment after Rudraksh finished, the impact of the revelation sinking in for both men. Kartavya finally spoke.
Kartavya: "This means thereâs a high chance that..."
Rudraksh: "Haa bhai, main bhi vahi soch raha hu, aur agar aisa hua toh kitna kuch sahi ho jayega"
(Yes, bhai, Iâm thinking the same. And if thatâs true, so many things will fall into place.)
Kartavya: "Call Kiya??"
(Did you make the call?)
Rudraksh: "Haan, kal subah tak sab pata chal jayega."
(Yes, by tomorrow morning, we should know everything.)
Kartavya: "Iâm hoping for a positive result."
Rudraksh: "Mee too bhai mee too."
Both men shared a reassuring smile, feeling the weight of their conversation lift slightly. But then, Kartavyaâs smile transformed into a mischievous smirk, catching Rudraksh off guard.
Rudraksh: "Whatt???"
Kartavya: "Little sunshine loves you from past 17 years, not bad haa.."
(Little Sunshine has loved you for the past 17 yearsânot bad, huh?)
Rudraksh: "Bhaii yaar, isiliye nahi batata hu main aapko kuch."
(Bhai, this is exactly why I don't tell you anything.)
Kartavya: "Love confession bhi ho gaya ab next step..."
(Love confession has happened, so the next step is...)
Rudraksh: "Ruhhh wait kar rahi hai mera, bye good night."
(Ruhhh is waiting for me. Bye, good night.)
Kartavya: "Haa ha, ab toh jayega hi, biwi hai raat hai aur...."
(Oh yes, youâd better go nowâitâs nighttime, sheâs your wife, and...)
Rudraksh: "Bhaiiiiiiiiii..."
Rudraksh hurried into his room, his heart racing, leaving Kartavyaâs laughter echoing faintly behind him. As he entered, he paused, noticing Ruhanika sitting on the bed, her chin resting on her knees, lost in thought. Her soft, pensive expression tugged at his heart, making him forget everything else.
Rudraksh: "Bas, overthinking karwa lo is kudi ton. Na jaane kad sudhregi te apne dimaag nu araam degi!"
(Just let this girl keep overthinking! Who knows when sheâll stop overthinking and let her mind rest!)
Rudraksh sighed, shaking his head at her obliviousness, and went to the closet to change into his usual sweatpants and vest. Returning quietly, he sat beside her, noticing she still hadnât realized he was there. Amused, he shook his head again and gently pulled her into his arms. She jolted in surprise, but as soon as she looked up and saw him, a warm blush crept across her cheeks, and she quickly buried her face in his chest, trying to hide her shy smile. Rudraksh chuckled softly, his heart warmed by her reaction, and wrapped his arms around her more securely, holding her close. The comforting embrace brought a sense of peace to both of them.
Rudraksh: "Ruhhh, ab kyu sharma rahi ho tum??"
(Ruhhh, why are you blushing now?)
Ruhanika: "Aap bhi humse prem karte hai, is baat se hume sharam aa rahi hai."
(I feel shy knowing that you love me too.)
Rudraksh leaned down and placed a soft, tender kiss on Ruhanikaâs head, his lips lingering there for a moment.
Rudraksh: "Toh main toh zindagi bhar tumse pyaar karunga, toh kya zindagi bhar tum sharmaogi mujhse??"
(Well, Iâm going to love you my whole life, so will you blush forever?)
Ruhanika nodded silently, pressing her face deeper into his chest, seeking solace in the familiar warmth of his embrace. Rudraksh chuckled softly at her gesture, his heart swelling with affection for her. He gently ran his fingers through her hair, his other hand resting on her back, holding her close.
Rudraksh: "Ruhhh, betu meri taraf dekho toh"
(Ruhhh, look at me.)
Ruhanika: "Vada kijiye aap humare laal chehre pe hume tang nahi karenge."
(Promise me you wonât tease me about my red cheeks.)
Rudraksh gently lifted her chin, guiding her face upward, but her eyes remained lowered, avoiding his gaze.
Rudraksh: "Tumhe nahi, toh kise tang karunga jaana??"
(If not you, then who else would I tease, my love?)
Rudrakshâs voice, low and husky, echoed in the quiet space between them. The way it came out, with so much emotion and intensity, made Ruhanikaâs heart race even faster. Her breath became heavier, and her face turned a deeper shade of crimson as they sat so close, their faces mere inches apart. The warmth from his body was overwhelming, making everything around them feel like it had slowed down. He could see the effect his proximity had on herâher flushed cheeks, her trembling lips, and the way her breath hitched with every beat of her heart. In that moment, everything seemed to blur, the world outside their little bubble fading away. Unable to resist the pull of the moment any longer, Rudraksh leaned down, his lips brushing against her forehead, soft and tender. He moved from her forehead to her nose, tracing it gently, then to her cheeks, where he planted a light kiss on each side. Finally, he reached her chin, pausing there for a split second before his lips hovered dangerously close to hers. His breath mingled with hers, and the electric tension between them only grew stronger. But Ruhanika, overwhelmed by the closeness, could no longer contain herself. Her arms wrapped tightly around his neck, pulling him in for an embrace that conveyed everything she couldn't express in wordsâtrust, affection, vulnerability. She clung to him, as if holding onto the only thing that felt certain in the midst of everything else. Rudraksh smiled softly at the gesture, his heart swelling with love for her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, rubbing her back soothingly, grounding her in the moment. He could feel the tension melt away between them, and the warmth of her body against his only made his resolve to protect and cherish her stronger.
Ruhanika: "ye kaise anjaane ehsaas hai?? Aap ye jo humare pass aate hai hume bahaut achcha lagta hai, man karta hai aap aise hi hume prem karte rahe aur usi waqt Aisa lagta hai jaise.. jaise humare bheetar kuch hulchul si uth rahi hai, aur hum aapke aakhon ka tez seh nahi paate."
(These feelings are so unfamiliar. When you come close to me, I feel so happy. It makes me want you to love me like this forever. At the same time, I feel a strange flutter inside, and I canât handle the intensity of your gaze.)
Rudraksh, still cradling Ruhanika in his arms, carefully shifts his position, lowering himself onto his back. He settles comfortably, with Ruhanika now resting gently on top of him, her body aligned with his.
Rudraksh: "Yahi pyaar ke Ehsaas hai Ruhh"
(These are the feelings of love, Ruhh.)
Ruhanika tilted her head slightly, resting her chin on his chest as she gazed up at him, her eyes filled with quiet intensity.
Ruhanika: "Par hum toh 17 saal se aapse pyaar karte hai, tab toh hume ye ehsaas nahi hua"
( But Iâve loved you for 17 years, and I didnât feel this before.)
Rudraksh: "Tab main tumhare pass bhi toh nahi tha na betu."
(Well, I wasnât close to you back then, right, love?)
Ruhanika nodded softly, a quiet sense of comfort washing over her as she placed her head against Rudraksh's chest. She could hear the steady beat of his heart, and it brought her a sense of calm she hadnât realized she needed. As his fingers gently moved through her hair, she closed her eyes, the soothing motion relaxing her entire body.
Ruhanika: "Aap kabhi nahi chodenge na hume??"
(Youâll never leave me, right?)
Rudraksh: "phir vahi sawaal, kya bharosa nhi hai mujhpe Sohneyo??"
(There you go with that question again. Donât you trust me, my love?)
Ruhanika: "Aap par hai, par humne jise bhi zindagi me chaha hai, sab hume chod ke chale gaye hai."
(I do, but everyone I ever loved has left me.)
Rudraksh: "Isiliye main tumhare bhagwan pe bharosa nahi karta hu jaana, aur is baar vo mujhse tumhe nahi cheen payenge."
(Thatâs why I donât trust your gods, love. And this time, they wonât be able to take you from me.)
Ruhanika: "Is baar matlab??"
(This time?)
Rudraksh: "Unhone mujhse bhi mera bahaut kuch Cheena hai betu."
(Theyâve taken a lot from me too, love.)
Ruhanika softly began to trace her fingers over Rudraksh's chest, gently rubbing the area just above his heart, her touch warm and soothing as if seeking a deeper connection.
Ruhanika: "Aap chahe toh humse apni baat bata sakte hai, hum pakka sunenge."
(If you want, you can share it with me. I promise Iâll listen.)
Rudraksh smiled tenderly, his expression softening with affection. He leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head.
Rudraksh: "Tum ek hi toh sukoon ho meri zindagi me Meri Ruhhh, bataunga ek din zarur, Kyuki Jo sukoon mujhe tab chahiye hoga vo sirf tum de sakti ho."
(Youâre my one solace, Ruhhh. One day, Iâll tell you everything, because when I do, the peace Iâll need can only come from you.)
Ruhanika: "Abhi kyu nahi??"
(Why not now?)
Rudraksh: "Kyuki abhi mujhe sukoon nahi aag ki zarurat hai, mere maksad ke liye."
(Because right now, I donât need peace; I need fire for my purpose.)
Ruhanika gripped the fabric of his vest tightly in her fists, her knuckles whitening as she shut her eyes, the motion a mix of vulnerability and seeking reassurance.
Ruhanika: "Aaag, aa..aag kyu??"
(Fire⦠fire for what?)
Rudraksh snapped back to the present, pulling himself out of the flood of memories. In that moment, he understood the depth of her fear of fire. His heart softened, and he gently rubbed her arms, offering her comfort with each soothing motion.
Rudraksh: "Sorry sorry betu, main bhul gaya tha, shhhh shaant shaant."
(Sorry, sorry, love. I forgot. Shhh, calm down, calm down.)
Ruhanika slowly relaxed in his embrace, her body softening as she clung to him tightly. But suddenly, she sat up with a jolt, her expression filled with worry. Rudraksh immediately sensed her distress and, concerned, he quickly sat up as well, his eyes searching hers for an explanation.
Rudraksh: "Kya hua Ruhh??"
(What happened, Ruhh?)
Ruhanika: "Humne aapko snapstreak toh sikhayi hi nahi"
(I havenât taught you about snap streaks yet.)
Rudraksh gently cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs softly caressing her cheeks as he looked at her.
Rudraksh: "Abhi toh der ho gayi hai betu, kal sikha Dena tumhe Sona nahi hai kya abhi??"
(Itâs late now, love. Teach me tomorrow. Donât you have to sleep?)
Ruhanika: "Nahi hume nind nahi aa rahi hai, hum aapko sikhayenge, aap sikhenge na humse???"
(No, Iâm not sleepy. Iâll teach youâwill you learn from me?)
She asked, her face lighting up with excitement, a wide grin spreading across her face as her eyes sparkled with anticipation.
Rudraksh: "Tum nahi bhi sikhaogi toh Sikh lunga kaise bhi tumhare liye."
(Even if you donât teach me, Iâd find a way to learn, just for you.)
Rudraksh winked playfully at her, his fingers gently poking at her dimples, teasing her with a mischievous smile. But instead of laughing, she pouted, her lips jutting out in mock annoyance, adding to the charm of the moment.
Ruhanika: "Aap chedd rahe hai hume??"
(Are you teasing me?)
Rudraksh: "Main tuhanu chedan te tusi oh gal samajh jao, eh nazara menu ajj kal taan bilkul nazar nahi aa reha."
( I tease you, and you understand what I mean? Thatâs something I havenât been seeing much lately.)
Ruhanika furrowed her brows, a slight frown creasing her forehead as confusion washed over her face. She looked at him, clearly trying to make sense of what was happening.
Ruhanika: "Kya nazara nhi nazar nahi aa raha, aap kehte hai hum nazara hai aapka, hum nazar nahi aa rahe hai aapko???"
(What havenât you been seeing? You say Iâm your viewâcanât you see me?)
Rudraksh gave her a playful, gentle tap on the head, his hand moving with a teasing touch, as if to bring her back from her moment of confusion.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh kitne sawal karti ho, aur kaise kaise sawaal karti ho"
(Ruhh, you ask so many questions, and such random ones!)
Ruhanika: "Sawaal me bhi prakaar hote hai??"
(There are types of questions too?)
Rudraksh: "Tum chodo ye sab betu, aao sikhao mujhe kya kaise karna hai streak"
(Leave that, my love. Come on, teach me what to do for the streak.)
Ruhanika: "Jiii"
(Yess)
Ruhanika grinned up at him, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Rudraksh, with a soft chuckle, gently pulled her closer, positioning her between his legs. He handed her his phone, wrapping his arms around her waist, his chin resting on her shoulder as he watched her intently. She smiled and began to teach him, her voice soft and patient as she explained, while Rudraksh admired every detail of her expression. Her focus on the task was evident, but as time passed, the peaceful atmosphere between them worked its magic. Ruhanika, despite her initial enthusiasm, started to relax in his arms. Slowly, the phone in her hands slipped from her grasp, falling gently onto her lap. Rudraksh glanced down at her, noticing that she had drifted into a peaceful sleep, her breathing steady and calm.
A soft, amused chuckle escaped Rudraksh's lips as he gazed down at her, her head resting against his chest and her body nestled comfortably in his embrace. She looked so serene, so completely at peace in his arms, that he couldnât help but smile. Gently, he reached down to pick up the phone, his movements slow and careful not to disturb her. As he held the phone, a thought crossed his mind. He had never taken a selfie beforeâheâd never felt the need to capture such moments. But now, with Ruhanika peacefully asleep in his arms, he wanted to immortalize this perfect moment. With a soft, quiet click, he took the first selfie of his life. The image captured them as they wereâher sleeping peacefully, nestled in his embrace, while he held her protectively. Rudraksh stared at the photo for a moment, his heart swelling with a deep sense of contentment. This simple, spontaneous picture was more meaningful to him than any other he had ever taken. It was a snapshot of their love, of a moment of pure connection that he wanted to keep forever. He smiled softly, holding the phone close as he continued to watch her sleep, content in the stillness of the moment, knowing that he would always treasure this memory.
Rudraksh: "Na jaane aur kya kya karwaogi tum mujhse betu."
(I wonder what else youâll make me do, my love.)
Rudraksh kissed the top of Ruhanikaâs head, a soft gesture that spoke of his love and tenderness. Slowly, he shifted both of them on the bed, making sure they were comfortable, and then pulled the blanket over them. As he settled beside her, he tucked her close, her head resting on his chest, his arms wrapped around her securely. Ruhanikaâs soft breathing soon matched the steady rhythm of Rudrakshâs, and together, they found solace in the quiet of the night. There were no more questions, no more worries, just the peace of being together in each other's arms. In that moment, everything felt right. They drifted into a peaceful sleep, knowing that they would always have each other, no matter what the world might throw their way.
The next morning, Kartavya and Savisha made an early visit to the Gurudwara, finding peace in the quiet morning hours. Meanwhile, Rudraksh had decided to skip the office, as he was eagerly waiting for someone or, perhaps, something special. As Rudraksh and Ruhanika made their way downstairs, Ruhanika's mood was unmistakably joyful. She was practically bouncing down each step, her eyes sparkling with happiness from the heartfelt confession Rudraksh had shared with her the previous day. Her steps were light and carefree, her excitement evident in every movement. Rudraksh followed closely behind her, a fond smile playing on his lips as he watched her giddy excitement. He couldnât help but chuckle softly, touched by how his words had brought so much joy to her.
Rudraksh: "Ruhhh, jaana kudo mat."
(Ruhhh, donât jump!)
Ruhanika lifted her gaze, her eyes meeting Rudraksh's with a curious look.
Ruhanika: "Kyu?? Kya hum nahi kudd sakte?? Kya kudna mana hai??"
(Why? Canât I jump? Is it forbidden?)
Rudraksh: "Mana nahi hai betu, par gir jaogi toh chot lag jayegi na."
(Not forbidden, my love, but if you fall, youâll get hurt.)
Ruhanika: "Matlab nahi girenge toh kudd sakte hai na??"
(So, as long as I donât fall, I can jump, right?)
Rudraksh: "Ruhhhh"
Ruhanika giggled and, full of excitement, jumped again. But as she reached the last step, her foot slipped, and she stumbled forward. In an instant, Rudrakshâs arms were around her, catching her just in time. He tightened his grip to steady her, his expression turning serious as he glared at her for being so careless. Seeing his worried look, Ruhanika instantly put on her best puppy-eyed expression, adding a small pout that she knew he could never resist. Rudraksh sighed, his irritation melting away, unable to stay upset with her for even a moment.
Rudraksh: "hadd hai, ye aise mat dekha Karo mujhe main kuch keh nahi paata tumhe."
(Unbelievable. Donât look at me like thatâI canât refuse you anything.)
Ruhanika: "Kaise nahi dekhe?? Aise??"
(How else should I look? Like this?)
Ruhanika looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes, noticing how his stern expression softened into a gentle gaze. A mischievous giggle escaped her, seeing how easily she could melt his resolve. Rudraksh couldnât help but smile back, he reached out and poked her dimples, enjoying the way they deepened with her smile.
Rudraksh: "Chalo."
(Letâs go.)
As they turned, they noticed Kartavya and Savisha entering through the main door, their expressions serene from the early morning visit to the Gurudwara. Kartavya carried a small prasad box, while Savisha held a beautiful dupatta draped over her head, both of them radiating a peaceful glow.
Ruhanika: "Bhai saaaaaa"
Ruhanika ran over to Kartavya with enthusiasm, and as she reached him, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her into a warm side hug. She leaned into him comfortably, a happy smile spreading across her face.
Kartavya: "Kya baat hai Little sunshine looks happy today."
(Whatâs up? Little Sunshine seems happy today.)
Ruhanika: "Jii Bhai saa, bas yunhi, aap bataiye kya laaye humare liye??"
(Yes, Bhai saa, just like that. What did you bring for me?)
Kartavya and Savisha chuckled, amused by the childlike innocence in her question. Meanwhile, Rudraksh settled himself on the couch, observing the playful scene with a gentle smile as he relaxed into the cushions.
Savisha: "Ruhii, bachcha yaha aana."
(Ruhii, child, come here.)
Ruhanika walked over to Savisha, who gently guided her to sit on the couch. Ruhanikaâs expression shifted to one of confusion, her brows furrowing as she looked at Savisha.
Savisha: "Bachcha, muh kholo, Aaaa karna."
(Open your mouth. Say 'Aaaa.')
Savisha gently asked Ruhanika to open her mouth, and without hesitation, she complied. Savisha then placed a piece of prashad into her mouth. Ruhanika tasted it and a delighted smile spread across her face, the sweetness of the offering making her eyes light up with joy.
Ruhanika: "Bhabhi saa ye toh meetha hai, kya hai ye??"
(Bhabhi saa, this is sweet. What is it?)
Savisha: "Kada prashad hai Ruhii, hum Gurudware gaye the toh ye baba ji ka prashad hai."
( Itâs sacred offering (Kada Prashad), Ruhii. We went to the Gurudwara, and this is Baba Jiâs prashad.)
Ruhanika gave another confused look, still unsure about what was happening. Kartavya, noticing her puzzled expression, reached over and ruffled her hair affectionately, a playful smile on his face as he tried to ease her confusion.
Kartavya: "Jaise mata rani ka mandir hota hai na vaise hi Baba ji ka gurudwara."
(Just like there are temples for Mata Rani, thereâs also a Gurudwara for Baba Ji.)
Ruhanika took another piece of prashad from Savisha, gently touching it to her forehead before eating it with a soft smile. As she did, Kartavya and Savisha exchanged a knowing glance, their smiles full of warmth and affection. Slowly, both of them kneeled down in front of her, their eyes filled with an unspoken bond. Rishwik, Kritika, and Ashvik looked on, slightly confused by the sudden gesture, but unable to resist the curious energy that filled the air. Without questioning, they too made their way to settle beside Rudraksh, who had been quietly watching the scene unfold. Kartavya and Savisha, still holding Ruhanika's hand, shared a quiet moment of connection with her.
Savisha: "Ruhii, bachcha meri ek baat manogi??"
(Ruhii, dear, will you listen to one thing I say?)
Ruhanika: "Jii bhabhi saa, par aap aise jhukiye mat humare samne."
(Yes, sister-in-law, but please don't bow down in front of me.)
Kartavya: "Ruhi beta, hum dono bahaut waqt se kuch chaah rahe hai par ho nahi paa Raha hai vo, aaj Gurudware jaake aaye hai baba ji se manga hai, aur.."
(Ruhi, my dear, we both have been wishing for something for a long time, but it hasn't happened. Today, we went to the Gurudwara and prayed to Baba Ji, and...)
Savisha: "Ruhi bachcha jis din tumne Rudraksh ki zindagi me kadam rakha uske kayi saalon se ruka kaam ho gaya, isiliye kya... Kya.."
(Ruhi, ever since you stepped into Rudraksh's life, something that had been pending for years finally happened. So, could you⦠could you...)
Kartavya: "Bachcha kya tum hume bhi ashirwad dogi ki hum jo chahh rahe hai vo mil jaye."
(Dear, will you bless us so that we get what we desire?)
Ruhanika: "Par hum toh aapse chote hai na toh kaise??"
(But I am younger than you, so how can I?)
Savisha: "sabse choti ho yaha, Devi maa ka roop, please Ruhii ashirwad dedo hume."
(You are the youngest here, like a form of Goddess Durga. Please, Ruhii, bless us.)
Savisha's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Ruhanika, her emotions overwhelming her. Kartavya and Savisha both bent down and touched Ruhanika's feet. Ruhanikaâs eyes widened in surprise at the act, and she quickly held their hands. Seeing the tears in their eyes, Ruhanika's own eyes moistened, and she gently wiped their tears away, her touch filled with affection and understanding.
Ruhanika: "Bhai saa, bhabhi saa, aap dono roiye mat hume achcha nahi lag raha, hum shiv ji se prarthna karenge aapko Jo chahiye vo aapko de dein, shiv ji bahaut bhole hai vo Maan jayenge."
(Brother, sister-in-law, please donât cry, it makes me sad. I will pray to Lord Shiva for you to get what you want. He is very benevolent; he will agree.)
Savisha wrapped her arms around Ruhanika in a heartfelt hug, her tears falling freely as she held her close. Kartavya, unable to control his emotions, turned his face away, trying to hide the depth of his feelings. Meanwhile, Ruhanika gently rubbed Savisha's back, offering comfort with each soothing motion, her own heart touched by the tenderness of the moment.
Ruhanika: "Bhabhi saa mat roiye na, Varna phir hume aapko vaise chup karana padega jaise hum Aksh ko shant karte hai jab vo naraz hote hai ya dukhi hote hai."
(Sister-in-law, please donât cry, or else Iâll have to calm you down the same way I calm Aksh when he gets upset or sad.)
Rudraksh's eyes widened in shock at the emotional display unfolding before him, his surprise evident. Rishwik, noticing Rudraksh's reaction, quickly jumped beside Ruhanika, his presence drawing attention. Savisha gently pulled back from the hug.
Rishwik: "Angel, tum kaise shant karti ho bhai ko??"
( Angel, how do you calm him down?)
Ruhanika: "Aise"
(Like this.)
Ruhanika, with a playful grin, cupped Savishaâs face in her hands and planted gentle kisses all over it. Savisha burst into laughter, her giggles filling the air, clearly enjoying the sweet gesture. Kartavya watched his wife with an affectionate smile, his heart warming at the sight of her happiness. Meanwhile, Rishwik, Ashvik, and Kritika couldn't help but exchange teasing glances toward Rudraksh, their mischievous smiles clearly pointing in his direction. Rudraksh, caught off guard by their looks, shut his eyes in exasperation, muttering under his breath, cursing his fate for being the subject of their constant teasing.
Kritika: "Ohho bhai, tab toh aap Roz naraz hote rahoge na??"
(Oh, brother, I guess youâll be getting upset quite often now, huh?)
Ruhanika: "Nahi Roz nahi hote vo ha par hum unhe ..."
(No, not every day, but he does sometimes...)
Rudraksh cleared his throat, unable to hold back any longer, and gently interrupted Ruhanika.
Rudraksh: "Ruhhh, betu nashta karte hain mujhe bhookh lagi hai, chalo."
(Ruhhh, sweetheart, letâs have breakfast; I'm feeling hungry. Come on.)
Rudraksh stood up from his seat. Kartavya and Savisha, sensing the shift, also rose to their feet.
Rishwik: "Bhai itni bhi kya jaldi hai??"
( Brother, whatâs the hurry?)
Ashvik: "Nashta karke vapas kamre me jaana hoga."
(He want to return to the room after breakfast, right?)
The mischievous trioâRishwik, Ashvik, and Kritikaâcouldn't hold back their laughter any longer. They shared a knowing glance before bursting into giggles.
Ruhanika: "toh kamre me jaane me hasne wali konsi baat hai??"
( Whatâs so funny about going back to the room?)
Ruhanika shot a confused look around, still unsure of the situation, as Savisha calmly began distributing the prashad to everyone. With a gentle smile, Savisha moved from person to person, offering the sweet treat.
Rishwik: "Jaane do Angel, personal ho jayega thoda apne tak rakho ye sab."
(Let it be, Angel. Some things are personal; itâs best to keep them private.)
Ruhanika, still confused, looked around, unable to make sense of the situation. Rudraksh, noticing her confusion, shot her a sharp glare to Rishwik. Savisha stepped in front of Rudraksh with a gentle smile and offered him the prashad.
Rudraksh: "Bhabhi aap jante ho na main nahi manta toh..."
(Sister-in-law, you know I donât believe in these things, so...)
Savisha: "Rudraksh bhai, aap bhi jante hai main kyu gayi Gurudware please le lijiye."
(Rudraksh brother, you know why I went to the Gurudwara. Please, accept it.)
Ruhanika walked over, to Rudraksh, and took a small portion of the prashad in her hand.
Ruhanika: "Muh kholiye, prashad ko mana kar rahe hai buddhu insaan."
(Open your mouth; youâre refusing the prasad, silly person.)
Rudraksh's eyes widened in complete shock as Ruhanika scolded him in front of everyone. He was so taken aback that for a moment, he couldnât find his words. His usually calm and composed demeanor faltered as he processed the fact that the sweet, innocent Ruhanika was scolding him and that too in front of everyone. The rest of the room was equally stunned. Rishwik, Ashvik, Kritika, and even Savisha couldnât believe what they had just witnessed. They exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of surprise and amusement. It was a rare sight to see their gentle Ruhanika, the one who always spoke in soft tones, scolding someone â especially the Mafia king himself, Rudraksh.
Ruhanika: "Muh kholiye na Akshh."
(Come on, open your mouth, Aksh.)
Rudraksh quickly realized that his clever wife had once again outsmarted him using her 'Aksh' weaponâthe irresistibly adorable charm she wielded so effortlessly. He knew at that moment that, despite his usual control over every situation, there was no way out of this one. His resolve crumbled, and with a resigned sigh, he opened his mouth, allowing her to place the prashad inside. As she did, the room fell silent. Ruhanika looked around and noticed the stunned expressions on everyoneâs facesâmouths agape, eyes wide. It was a rare sight for them to see the powerful, usually unshakable Rudraksh, the man who commanded respect from everyone, being so easily swayed by Ruhanikaâs innocence and playful tactics.
Ruhanika: "Aap sabke muh kyu khule?? Bhookh lagi hai?? Chaliye Nashta karte hai."
(Why is everyone staring with their mouths open? Are you all hungry? Letâs go have breakfast.)
Ruhanika, in her playful manner, wrapped her arms around Rudraksh's biceps, pulling him along with her. Of course, it was Rudraksh who ended up doing all the walking, his amused eyes watching his little wife drag him toward Breakfast table. The others, still in a dazed stupor from the earlier moment, followed them without a second thought, lost in the playful atmosphere that Ruhanika had effortlessly created. Kartavya and Savisha stood still for a moment, their eyes locking. Kartavya gently cupped Savishaâs face, pulling her closer as a soft smile spread across his face.
Kartavya: "Mahiya I love Ruhi as our daughter, but Tuhanu kiss karan da haq taan sirf mera hai!"
(Mahiya, I love Ruhi as our daughter, but the right to kiss you belongs only to me!)
Kartavya kissed Savisha's entire face with soft, tender kisses, each one more affectionate than the last. When he finally placed a gentle peck on her lips, Savisha blushed, feeling a rush of warmth. Overcome with shyness, she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug, burying her face against his chest. Kartavya chuckled softly, enjoying the sweetness of the moment as he held her close.
Kritika: "My dear love birds, Ishq, mohabbat, pyaar ho gaya ho toh nashta kar lo, Varna hum bhukkado se kuch nahi bachega."
(My dear love birds, if youâre done with your romance, come have breakfast, or nothing will be left for you by us hungry people.)
The entire family burst into light-hearted laughter, the playful atmosphere contagious. Kartavya and Savisha, still smiling, joined in with the rest, their laughter adding to the warmth of the moment. Together, they all settled down and began enjoying their breakfast, the sound of chatter and joy filling the room as they shared a peaceful, happy morning.
After breakfast, the family gathered in the living room as per Rudraksh's request. He had asked everyone to stay at home today, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity for some family bonding. The atmosphere was light and joyful, with Ruhanika continuing to ask her endless stream of innocent questions. Rudraksh found himself smiling, feeling an unexpected sense of relief. Today, he wasnât the only one being bombarded with her curious inquiries.
As the laughter and chatter filled the room, Amandeep entered, his face beaming with an almost immense joy. It was as if he had just won the lottery, the excitement radiating from him. His eyes twinkled with a secret, and the way he walked in made everyone pause, wondering what news he was about to share. The entire room seemed to buzz with anticipation.
Ruhanika: "Aman bhaiya, aap late ho gaye thode se hum sab ne abhi nashta kiya, kya hum aapke liye bhi lete aaye??"
(Aman brother, youâre a little late; we just finished breakfast. Should we get some for you too?)
Ruhanika stood up, ready to leave, but Amandeep quickly shook his head, signaling her to stay.
Amandeep: "Nahi Ruhii, baitho tum."
(No, Ruhii, you sit down.)
Ruhanika: "Areh par..."
(But...)
Rudraksh reached out and gently pulled Ruhanika back onto the couch, his grip firm yet reassuring.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh, ab 2 minute apna muh band rakhna tum, koi sawal jawab nahi, samjhi??"
(Ruhh, be quiet for two minutes now. No questions, no answers, understood?)
Ruhanika nodded quietly, choosing to stay silent as she observed the exchange. Rudraksh, sensing the shift in the atmosphere, moved toward Amandeep. A knowing smile played on his lips, but he still wanted confirmation. His eyes locked onto Amandeepâs, silently asking for the truth he suspected, yet still unsure.
Rudraksh: "Is it ???"
Amandeep: "Yes, Sir. Your suspicion is not just a suspicion anymore; it's true."
Rudraksh's smile widened as he turned to look at Kartavya, who was also grinning in understanding. The two shared a brief, silent exchange, clearly in on something the others didn't yet know. Meanwhile, the rest of the family looked on in confusion.
Ashvik: "Kaise doubt Aman?? Kya chal raha hai??."
(How can there be suspicion, Aman? Whatâs going on?)
Rishwik: "Aman, aisi konsi baat hai jo tune mujhse bhi chupayi hai."
(Aman, whatâs this you kept hidden from me as well?)
Amandeep handed an envelope to Rudraksh, his expression holding a quiet sense of anticipation. Rudraksh took it with a small nod of acknowledgment, opening the envelope carefully. As he unfolded the paper inside, a smile spread across his face as he read the contents. The words seemed to bring him a sense of satisfaction, his eyes glinting with the knowledge of something important, though the rest of the family remained unaware of what was unfolding.
Ruhanika: "Aksh, 2 minute ho gaye ab hum bole?? Haa toh Aman bhaiya hume bhi bataiye."
(Aksh, two minutes are up; can I speak now? Yes, so Aman brother, please tell me too.)
Ruhanika, eager and impatient, didnât even wait for Rudraksh to respond. She quickly spoke up, cutting off the moment. Amandeep opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, Rudraksh interrupted him.
Rudraksh: "Bhai aap vo le aayenge??"
(Brother, will you bring it?)
Kartavya: "Hune laaya, 2 mins.'
(Yes, Iâll bring it, just two minutes.)
The entire room was filled with confusion as everyone wondered what was going on between Rudraksh, Kartavya, and Amandeep. Sensing the tension and curiosity in the air, Kartavya excused himself and went to his room. He returned moments later with a blue velvet jewelry box in hand, the mystery deepening. Rudraksh took the box from Kartavya with a knowing look, his fingers gently opening it. Inside, the contents sparkled, adding a new layer to the intrigue as he examined what lay within.
Kritika: "Veere, what's that?? Main bata rahi hu mujhe gift nahi chahiye."
(Brother, whatâs this? Iâm telling you, I donât need a gift.)
Ruhanika: "Tohfa??? Kya aapka janamdin hai Kritika didi??"
(Gift? Is it your birthday, Kritika sister?)
Kritika: "Nahi Ruhiii, main bas mazaak kar rahi hu."
(No, Ruhii, Iâm just joking.)
Rishwik: "Pakka Kartavya bhai mere liye kuch layenge honge, main hu hi unka ladlaa."
(Iâm sure Kartavya brother got something for me because Iâm his favorite.)
Ashvik: "teri harkaton ke hisab se Kartavya bhai sirf tujhe laat aur ghuse de sakte hai."
(Based on your behavior, Kartavya brother might just give you a kick and a punch.)
Ruhanika: "Aur Bhai saa ki ladli hum hai Rishi Bhai aap kuch bhi mat boliye, hai na Bhai saa??"
(And Iâm Brotherâs favorite, Rishi brother, so donât say anything. Right, Brother?)
Ruhanika, still curious and with a hint of nervous excitement, moved toward Kartavya and gently held his hand. Kartavya looked down at her with a warm smile, his eyes filled with affection. He reached up and lovingly patted her cheek.
Kartavya: "Haa little sunshine aur ye jo bhi hai usse tumhe hi Khushi milegi."
(Yes, little sunshine, and this gift is something that will bring you happiness.)
Ruhanika, her excitement evident, eagerly moved toward Rudraksh, wanting to see what was inside the blue velvet box. But before she could catch a glimpse, Rudraksh swiftly closed the box with a playful smirk. Ruhanikaâs face fell, and she pouted in disappointment, her eyes widening with a mixture of curiosity and frustration.
Ruhanika: "Bhai saa ne kaha ye humare liye hai toh aapne band kyu kiya, dikhaiye hume, kahi aap humara tohfa toh nhi Lena chahte???"
(Brother said itâs for me, so why are you hiding it? Show it to me. Are you trying to take away my gift?)
Rudraksh gave Ruhanika a side-eye glance.
Rudraksh: "Achcha hum ise aapke sath baant lenge, par abhi dikhaiye."
(Fine, Iâll share it with you, but show I now.)
Ruhanika, unable to contain her curiosity, stretched her hand toward the box, eager to catch a glimpse of its contents. But just as she reached for it, Rudraksh quickly pulled it back, keeping the box just out of her reach.
Rudraksh: "Bas ek minute Betu."
(Just one minute, sweetheart.)
The entire room was filled with confusion as they watched the playful back-and-forth between Rudraksh and Ruhanika. Sensing her growing frustration, Rudraksh gently held Ruhanika and, with a soft but firm motion, guided her back to the couch. She sat there, still confused, trying to piece together what was happening, her eyes flicking between the box and the others. Meanwhile, Kartavya, observing the scene, quietly moved towards Ashvik.
Ashvik: "Baat mat karo mujhse aap, kabhi mere liye kuch nahi laate."
(Donât talk to me. You never bring anything for me.)
Kartavya: "Aaj laaya hu, sabse keemti tohfa."
(Today, I have brought the most precious gift.)
Ashvik was just as puzzled as the rest of them, his brow furrowed in confusion. But Kartavya, sensing his hesitation, gently took Ashvik's hand and guided him toward the couch. With a reassuring gesture, Kartavya made him sit beside Ruhanika.
Ruhanika: "Kya ye tohfa humare aur Ashu bhai dono ke liye hai??"
(Is this gift for both Ashu brother and me?)
Kartavya: "Haa little sunshine"
(Yes, little sunshine.)
Ruhanika, still unsure of what was going on, turned toward Ashvik and gently took his hand in hers.
Ruhanika: "Ashu bhai, hume lagta hai isme chocolates hongi, aur aap toh zyada meetha khate nahi hai isiliye aap sab hume de Dena ha, hum le lenge."
( Ashu brother, I think there must be chocolates inside, and since you donât eat too many sweets, you can give it all to me. Iâll take it.)
Ashvik chuckled softly, with a playful grin, he flicked Ruhanika's nose gently, a teasing gesture that made her blink in surprise.
Ashvik: "Ji Rudraksh ki Rajkumari jii, jaisa aap kahe"
(Yes, Princess of Rudraksh, as you wish.)
Ruhanika: "Haa hum inhi ki toh hai."
(Yes, I belong only to him.)
Ruhanika, her cheeks flushed with shyness, causing everyone to burst into soft laughter. Her cute and endearing expressions only added to the charm of the moment. Rudraksh, who had been watching her intently, couldnât help but smile, his eyes filled with warmth and affection. Meanwhile, Rishwik, noticing the lighthearted atmosphere, moved toward Amandeep.
Rishwik: "Abe Aman, aisa kya le aaya re tu, aur dekh le isme Mera fayda nhi hua toh khair nahi teri."
(Hey Aman, what did you bring thatâs so special? And be warned, if I donât benefit from it, youâre in trouble.)
Amandeep: "Yehi zara Rudraksh bhai ke samne bol ke dikha tab batata hu."
(Try saying that in front of Rudraksh brother, then Iâll tell you.)
Rishwik: "Sab mujhe bolte hai par asli shaitan toh tu hai be."
(Everyone blames me, but the real troublemaker here is you.)
Amandeep: "Bakwaas ho gayi ho toh chup ho ja."
(Enough nonsense. Just be quiet.)
As Rishwik and Amandeep exchanged playful, exaggerated faces at each other, their antics only added to the humor of the moment. Kritika, who had been quietly listening to all their conversations, couldnât help but roll her eyes in mild annoyance, clearly unimpressed by their antics. Meanwhile, Savisha, who seemed to know exactly what was going on, watched the scene unfold with a gentle smile. Her eyes were a little moist, not from sadness but from the warmth of anticipationâshe could see the blossoming connection between Ashvik and Ruhanika, and it touched her deeply.
Kartavya and Rudraksh stood in front of Ashvik and Ruhanika, their expressions serious, which instantly made Ashvik sense that something important was about to unfold. He could feel the weight of the moment, his mind racing with questions. Ruhanika, on the other hand, was practically bubbling with excitement, her grin stretching wide as she eagerly awaited what would happen next. With a deliberate motion, Rudraksh handed the blue velvet box to Ashvik. As Ashvik took the box in his hands, confusion flickered across his face. The room fell into an expectant silence, the atmosphere thick with anticipation, as Ashvik tried to make sense of the gesture. Ruhanikaâs grin only grew, her eyes sparkling with excitement, as everyone waited for Ashvikâs reaction.
Kartavya: "Open it, and gussa mat hona"
(Open it, and donât get angry.)
Rudraksh: "Bahaut zaruri hai tere liye ye Janna."
(Itâs really important for you to know this.)
Ashvik furrowed his brows in confusion as he slowly opened the box Rudraksh had handed to him. But as soon as he saw the contents inside, his expression darkened. His face hardened, and an unmistakable anger flickered in his eyes. Ruhanika, curious about his reaction, gently leaned forward and peeked over Ashvikâs shoulder to get a glimpse of what was causing him to react so strongly. As soon as her eyes landed on the object inside, they widened in shock. Her gaze darted between the box and Ashvik, trying to understand the source of his sudden shift in mood. The confusion in her eyes mirrored the uncertainty in her heart.
Ashvik, unable to contain his frustration, slammed the box shut with a loud thud. The sound made Ruhanika flinch, and instinctively, she took a step back. Her heart raced as she watched Ashvik, unsure of what had triggered such a strong reaction. But then, catching her concerned gaze, Ashvikâs expression softened. His eyes, once filled with anger, now held a mix of frustration and tenderness. He looked at her, silently apologizing for his outburst, before taking a deep breath.
Ashvik: "Teddy thik ho tum??"
(Teddy, are you alright?)
Ashvik, still holding the box, turned to Ruhanika and gently caressed her cheek, his touch tender and reassuring. She smiled softly at him, nodded. After a moment, Ashvik turned back to Kartavya and Rudraksh, his expression a mix of curiosity and anticipation. His mind was racing, trying to decipher what was happening, but he knew something significant was unfolding before him.
Ashvik: "Kartavya bhai, Rudraksh ye kya bakwas hai??"
(Kartavya brother, Rudraksh, what is this nonsense?)
Kartavya: "Apna gussa shant kyu kar liya little sunshine ke liye??"
(Have you calmed your anger because of little sunshine?)
Kartavya, noticing Ashvik's tension, asked. Ashvik's jaw clenched for a moment, but he quickly composed himself. His initial frustration melted away as he took a deep breath and lowered his tone.
Ashvik: "Vo Darr jayegi aur kya"
(She would get scared, what else.)
Rudraksh: "toh tujhe kya"
(So what?)
Ashvik: "Tujhe kya ka kya matlab hai, u all know what she means to me."
(What do you mean by âso whatâ? You all know what she means to me.)
Rudraksh and Kartavya exchanged knowing smiles. Ruhanika took the box from Ashvikâs hands, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She carefully opened it, her curiosity growing with each passing second. As she peered inside, her face lit up with surprise and delight.
Rishwik: "Kriti dii, kya ho raha h ye kuch pata hai??"
(Kritika sister, do you know whatâs happening here?)
Kritika: "I don't know, par itna pakka hai ki us box me Ashvik ke bachpan ka locket hai isiliye vo gussa ho gaya hai."
(I donât know, but Iâm certain that thereâs something related to Ashvikâs childhood locket in that box, which is why heâs upset.)
Rishwik gave a small nod. Meanwhile, Ruhanika, still holding the open box, turned to Kartavya with a look of confusion. Her brow furrowed slightly as she tried to make sense of the situation, her excitement now mixed with uncertainty.
Ruhanika: "Bhai saa, aapne Ashu bhai ko bilkul humare jaisa locket kyu tohfa diya??"
(Brother, did you give Ashu brother a locket just like mine as a gift?)
As Ruhanika looked at Kartavya in confusion, the rest of the room began to react. Rishwik and Kritikaâs faces went pale with surprise, their eyes widening in disbelief. But it was Ashvik who appeared to be the most shocked, his expression frozen in a mixture of confusion and astonishment. He stared at Ruhanika and the box in her hands, his mind racing to understand what was happening.
Rishwik: "Kya bol rhi ho Angel??"
(What are you saying, Angel?)
Ruhanika: "Ji Rishi Bhai, dekhiye"
(Yes, Rishi brother, look.)
Ruhanika, still holding the box, carefully took out a delicate chain with a locket shaped like the letter "R." She pulled it from beneath her dupatta, revealing it to everyone in the room. The locket gleamed in the light, its significance clear as she gently held it up for all to see. Ashvik, who had been trying to make sense of everything, was now completely stunned. His face paled, and a deep confusion clouded his features as he stared at the locket. His mind raced, trying to piece together the meaning behind this unexpected revelation. He opened his mouth to speak, but the words didnât come.
Kritika: "Ho kya raha hai yaha, Veere, Rudraksh bhai kya hai ye sab??"
(Whatâs going on here? Brother, Rudraksh, what is all this?)
Ruhanika: "Areh Kritika didi, bhai sa ko humare locket pasand aaya hoga isiliye unhone Ashvik bhai ko vaisa hi tohfa diya, hai na bhai sa??"
(Oh, Kritika sister, Brother must have liked our locket so much that he gifted a similar one to Ashvik brother, right, Brother?)
Ashvik, still in shock, gently turned Ruhanika towards him, his hands trembling slightly as he reached for the locket. His fingers brushed against the cool metal as he held it delicately, as though it might shatter if he held it too tightly.
Rudraksh, sensing the tension in the air, stepped forward and placed a steady hand on Ashvikâs shoulder. His touch was calm but firm, a silent gesture of support and assurance. Ashvik, still holding the locket, glanced up at Rudraksh, his mind racing to process everything. Rudrakshâs presence seemed to ground him, offering a moment of clarity amidst the confusion.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh bata rahi thi us raat ke baare me jis raat uske parents ka accident hua tha, aur ye locket jab maine pehli baar dekha tha toh yaad nahi aa raha tha ki pehle kaha dekha hai."
(Ruhh was telling me about the night her parentsâ accident happened, and when I first saw this locket, I didnât recall where I had seen it before.)
Kartavya: "Phir doctor ka call aaya ki Ruhi ki blood reports normal hai, but her blood group is really rare, crores me kisi ek ka hota hai but even doctor was shocked because even your blood group is same, Bombay blood group."
(Then the doctor called and said that Ruhiâs blood reports were normal but mentioned that her blood type is extremely rareâso rare itâs found in only one in billions. Even the doctor was surprised, as your blood type is the same, the Bombay blood group.)
Ashvikâs heartbeat raced in his chest as a mixture of anticipation and confusion gripped him. His eyes locked with Rudraksh's, and then with Kartavyaâs, both of them offering him a sense of reassurance, but also a quiet intensity that made his nerves flare up even more. There was something important, something life-changing, unfolding in this momentâand Ashvik could feel it. With a flicker of hope in his eyes, Ashvik turned his gaze back to the envelope that Rudraksh was holding out toward him. His hands trembled slightly as he reached out, taking the envelope with a sense of gravity. The weight of it seemed heavier than it should have been, like it carried the weight of unspoken truths, promises, and revelations.
Rudraksh: "Humne Doctor ko DNA test karne ko kaha and...."
(So, we asked the doctor to conduct a DNA test, and...)
Ashvik slowly opened the envelope, his hands trembling slightly as he pulled out the papers inside. As he read the results, his eyes widened in disbelief, and soon, they filled with moisture. The results showed a 98% match, and the weight of the news hit him all at once. He collapsed back onto the couch, the envelope still clutched tightly in his hand. The shock and emotion were overwhelming, and his breath became shaky. Ruhanika, noticing the sudden change in his demeanor, quickly moved to his side. Her heart raced with concern as she saw the tears threatening to spill from his eyes. She sat next to him, her worry deepening, and gently cupped his face in her hands.
Ruhanika: "Ashu bhai, aap ro kyu rahe hai?? Shhh mat roiye hume bataiye kya hua hum karte hai aapki madad."
(Ashu brother, why are you crying? Shhh, donât cry; tell me what happened, Iâll help you.)
Ashvikâs eyes were fixed on Ruhanika, filled with a whirlwind of emotionsâconfusion, wonder, and something deeper, something she couldnât quite place. His gaze seemed to pierce through her, as if trying to unravel the mystery of everything that had been happening. His lips parted as though he wanted to say something, but no words came out. Ruhanika, sensing the overwhelming surge of emotions in his eyes, felt a knot form in her chest. She didnât fully understand what he was going through, but the depth of his expression moved her. Without thinking, she reached out and gently wiped away the tears that had started to fall from his eyes, her touch tender as she tried to offer him some comfort. She stood up from where she had been sitting beside him.
Ruhanika: "Akshhh, dekhiye na bhai ro rahe hai inhe chup karaiye hume achcha nahi laga Raha hai."
( Akshhh, look, brother is crying. Please comfort him; I donât like seeing him this way.)
Rudraksh gently cupped Ruhanika's face, his touch warm and reassuring. His eyes softened as he looked at her, the intensity of the moment reflected in the way he held her. Ruhanika, feeling the comfort of his touch, instinctively placed her hand over his, holding it gently. He caressed her cheeks with his thumb, his gaze never leaving hers.
Rudraksh: "Ruhhh, betu tumne mujhe bataya tha na 17 saal pehle us raat gaadi me aag lag gayi thi"
(Ruhh, sweetheart, you told me about that night, the night of the car accident, how there was a fire in the back seat.)
Ruhanika's expression softened, the light in her eyes fading slightly as she lowered her head in silence. Her features, once filled with curiosity and excitement, now carried a quiet sadness or contemplation. She nodded slowly, as if acknowledging something she couldnât yet put into words, her gaze fixed on the floor.
Rudraksh: "Tumne kaha tha piche ki seat pe bahaut aag lag gayi thi."
(You said there was a lot of fire on the back seat.)
A single tear slipped down Ruhanikaâs cheek, its path slow and deliberate, tracing the curve of her face as it fell silently. Yet, despite the tear, she nodded once more, a quiet acceptance in her movements.
Rudraksh: "Piche ki seat pe kon tha betu??"
(Who was in the back seat, sweetheart?)
Ruhanika's grip on Rudraksh's hand tightened, her fingers curling around his with a strength that spoke of the storm brewing inside her. She squeezed her eyes shut tightly, as if trying to block out the overwhelming emotions that threatened to spill over. Her breath became shallow, her chest rising and falling with the effort of holding herself together. The warmth of Rudrakshâs hand was a lifeline, but even that couldnât fully calm the turbulence she was feeling within.
Ruhanika: "vo.. vooo b..b..Bhai the humare."
(Th...there was⦠my brother.)
Rudraksh: "Kya naam tha?"
(What was his name?)
Ruhanika: "Hum bahaut chote the isiliye hume yaad nahi, bas itna yaad hai hum unhe bhaiyuu keh ke bulate the. Hum dukhi na ho isiliye Nima ne bhi kabhi unka zikr nahi kiya."
(I was so young back then that I donât remember. I only remember that I used to call him âbhaiyuu.â Nima never mentioned him again to keep me from being sad.)
Tears streamed down Ruhanikaâs face, her body trembling slightly as the memories of that horrible incident came rushing back. Her grip on Rudraksh's hand tightened even further, as if she were trying to anchor herself to the present, to the safety of his presence. She shut her eyes tighter, desperately trying to push away the vivid recollections, but they wouldnât leave. The tremors that coursed through her were a silent reflection of the fear and pain that still haunted her.
Ruhanika: "A..apne hume to..hh bacha liya par hu..mare bha...iyuu, vo vo us a..aag vo Bhaiiii piche vo"
(Y...you saved me, but m...my bro...ther⦠he⦠he was in that f...fire at the back... brotherâ¦)
Ruhanika couldn't hold it in any longer. She burst out crying, the sobs wracking her body as the floodgates of pain and fear were finally unleashed. Her tears fell uncontrollably, mingling with the pain of the past that gripped her heart. Without a second thought, Rudraksh quickly wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to him. He anchored her against his chest, his strong arms around her waist, steadying her, ensuring she didnât collapse under the weight of her emotions. He held her tightly, his hands gentle but firm, offering her the solace of his presence as her body trembled in his embrace. His heart ached for her, knowing the depth of her pain.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh, jaana rote nahi hai betu, meri baat suno.."
(Ruhh, sweetheart, donât cry, listen to me...)
Ruhanika: "Vo bhai..yuu"
(My... brother...)
Rudraksh: "Zinda hai"
(Heâs alive.)
Ruhanika looked up at Rudraksh in complete shock and confusion, her eyes wide as she tried to process what she had just heard. Was it possible? Had she heard it right? Her mind raced, but she couldnât bring herself to believe it, unsure if the words had truly come from him. Rudraksh, noticing her bewildered expression, blinked in response, his gaze softening as he met her eyes. He could see the confusion clouding her features, and he gently reached up to wipe the tears from her cheeks with his thumb, his touch tender and reassuring. Ruhanika's heart pounded in her chest as she remained frozen, caught in a whirlwind of emotions. She couldnât tell if she was just imagining things or if the depth of his words had truly just hit her. She was in a dilemma, her thoughts a tangled mess as she searched his face for any hint of doubt, but found none.
Ruhanika: "Jiii ky..a kya kaha aapne??"
(Wh...what did you say?)
Rudraksh smiled softly, his eyes filled with warmth and understanding. He gently reached for Ruhanika's locket, his fingers brushing against hers as he took it into his hand. With a tender movement, he turned the locket, revealing something she hadn't seen before.
Rudraksh: "See this, is R shape locket ke piche tumhara naam likha hai na Ruhanika."
(Look here; on the back of this locket with the letter âR,â your name is engraved, right? Ruhanika.)
Ruhanika nodded, still processing everything, when Kartavya stepped forward. He gently took the box from Ashvikâs hands and carefully removed the locket from it. With a soft smile, Kartavya turned the locket in his hand, revealing the backside to Ruhanika.
Kartavya: "Aur iske piche bhi likha hai "Ashvik"."
(And on the back of this one, itâs engraved âAshvik.â)
Ruhanika looked at them in confusion, her brow furrowed as she tried to make sense of the situation. Her gaze shifted from Kartavya to Ashvik and then to Rudraksh, her eyes searching for answers. The significance of the locket was starting to sink in, but she couldn't fully understand why it was being revealed to her now or what it truly meant.
Ruhanika: "Ye toh aapne banvaya hai na??"
(But you had this one made, right?)
Kartavya shook his head gently, while Rudraksh took a step closer and cupped her face with both hands.
Rudraksh: "Tum dono ka blood group bhi same hai, kal hi pata chala mujhe, aur jo sab tumne mujhe bataya usse mujhe doubt aaya, kyuki Ashvik bhi hume usi raat Mila tha jis raat maine tumhe bachaya tha, aur phir maine tum dono ka DNA test karaya."
(Your blood type is the same, and what you told me raised my suspicion, because Ashvik was also found on that same night, the night I rescued you. So, I got a DNA test done for both of you.)
Ruhanika: "Vo kya hota hai??"
(Whatâs that?)
Rudraksh: "it's a medical test, jisse blood relations pata chalte hai, aur tumhara aur Ashvik ka 98% match hai."
(Itâs a medical test that determines blood relations, and there was a 98% match between you and Ashvik.)
Ruhanika: "Iska matlab Ashu bhai hi..."
(So that means Ashu brother really is...)
Rudraksh: "Haa betu, Ashvik hi aapka, bhaiyuu hai. Ashvik Adhiraj Rajpurohit."
(Yes, sweetheart. Ashvik is indeed your âbhaiyuu.â Ashvik Adhiraj Rajpurohit.)
The room was filled with an eerie silence as everyone absorbed the gravity of the situation. Rishwik and Kritika exchanged shocked glances, their eyes wide with disbelief, before turning towards Amandeep. He blinked at them in silent assurance, but it only added to the confusion and concern. Rishwik and Kritika, knowing the pain Ashvik had carried for so long, couldnât hold back their emotions. Tears welled up in their eyes, and they both looked at Ashvik with a mix of sorrow and understanding, knowing how much this revelation mean to him. They could see the rawness in his eyes, the emotional toll it had taken. Meanwhile, Ruhanika, her heart heavy with empathy, felt a deep connection to Ashvikâs pain. Her chin trembled as she turned away from Rudrakshâs embrace, realizing that Ashvikâs pain mirrored her own. The uncertainty and hurt in his eyes were something she recognized well. She could see that he, too, was struggling to express what he was feeling, lost in the same whirlwind of emotions. With trembling hands, Ruhanika gently placed her hand on Ashvikâs shoulder, her touch soft and comforting. Ashvik slowly raised his head, his gaze meeting hers. His eyes were glistening with unshed tears, reflecting a storm of emotions he couldn't put into words. The weight of the moment hung heavily between them, both of them silently acknowledging the shared pain, the unspoken understanding of what this revelation meant.
Before Ruhanika could say anything or even process the overwhelming situation, Ashvik suddenly stood up. Without a word, he pulled her into a bone-crushing hug. Ruhanika, initially taken aback, hesitated for a split second before instinctively wrapping her arms around him. In that moment, both of them let go of all their pent-up emotions, and the tears flowed freely. The room fell into stunned silence. Ashvik, the usually composed and stoic figure, was not someone who easily showed vulnerability. But now, in this raw and unguarded moment, his emotions had completely overtaken him. Seeing him cry was a shock to everyone present. It was a side of Ashvik they had never seen, and it hurt them all to witness his pain. Ruhanika, too, was overwhelmed, the weight of her own grief mixing with Ashvikâs. Their cries filled the room, a painful release for both of them. For Ruhanika, it was the end of a long chapter of uncertainty, where she had lived with the crushing thought that she had lost her brother. For Ashvik, it was the moment he realized that the family he had longed for, the connection he had desperately sought, was finally returning to him.
Though the scene was heartbreaking, there was an undeniable sense of healing in the air. Rishwik, standing off to the side, wiped away a tear that had slipped down his cheek. But his tears werenât of sorrow. They were tears of relief, of happiness, and of hope. Seeing his brother, someone who had always kept his emotions tightly controlled, finally embrace the truth of his identity and family brought a deep sense of joy. He was getting his family backâhis true family. And as hard as this moment was, Rishwik knew it was the necessary step toward that healing, toward the reunion that had been years in the making. The rest of the family stood there, silently witnessing the profound bond between Ashvik and Ruhanika, understanding that this was a moment of catharsis for both of them. It was a painful release, but it was also a beginningâa chance for them to rebuild, to heal together.
