Meera was in her room packing her bags. When she got a call from her taiji this morning, she didn't take her seriously and thought that she was just bluffing. But when Rashmi told her about going to her maika for the first festival, she felt her heart drop. The only thing good about all that is her exams nearing which gave her reason to avoid staying there for a long time. It was finally decided that she would be staying there for 2 days only and on the day of Rakshabandhan Aashrit would be bringing her back home.

No one in the family knew about the ill treatment of her taiji and tauji except Rajveer who was out of town at the moment.

Her bags were packed, she held the suitcase and left the wardrobe but saw her husband opening the door with a thud and his breath raging. As their eyes met, both of them were relieved visibly. Meera wanted to hug him and ask him to not let her leave but she didn't dare to do so on the other hand, Aashirt wanted to stop her but didn't want her to miss her family trip she might be getting after so long.

Aashrit holds the suitcase in her hand "I'll help you." He said and Meera just nodded with a heavy breath requesting him from her eyes to just stop her at the moment.

"Take care of yourself Aashrit ji." She said to him as he moved making him stop at his place.

He turned back and put the suitcase down. He stood in front of her and put his hand on her cheeks. They looked at each other's eyes both asking each other to stop but the miscommunication worked well. "I'll be sending Adwait with you. Tell him if you need anything. I'll be there to pick you up the day after tomorrow." He said and he nodded

"Call me if you miss Dadu." She said ready to comfort him even when she was not present physically.

Aashrit wanted to throw the suitcase away, take her in his arms, and kiss the life out of her. He wanted to just silence everything around him and listen to her only. He doesn't want to look anywhere but her. He wanted to hold her in his arms and spend the whole day with her just like that but he knew it was not possible because of his blabbering nonsense in their first meet but now he was ready to correct his mistake.

"Let's go." He said holding her hand and soon they reached downstairs.

Meera met everyone downstairs and soon left Aalha Mahal with Vishal.

Meera finally reached her so-called home and as she expected no one was there to welcome her except Anu. Anu was sitting in the hall waiting for her and stood up excitedly upon seeing her. She hugged him when Advait brought her suitcase.

Advait noticed no other member around feeling weird which didn't go unnoticed by Mera.

"Give it to me Adwait," Meera said trying to take her suitcase but Adwait moved a step back.

"It's okay Rani sa. Tell me about your room and I'll put it there as I have to check security measures also."

Anu interrupted their conversation "Go upstairs and the 1st room on the right side is Meera's room Advait ji." Anu said while Meera's brows furrowed.

As Advait left Anu turned to Meera to clear her confusion.

"We got a call from Vishal an hour ago that your bodyguard is also coming so they tidied up the guest room to make it look like your room." Anu cleared up her confusion while Meera could just nodded at her.

"Go and get some rest. I'll bring tea for you." Anu said and Meera could just nod.

Meera didn't see anyone from her family and she was expecting to spend the next day just like that.

She didn't meet anyone the whole day and got her dinner in her room at night and expected to spend her days like this, unaware of the storm entering her life tomorrow.

She finally laid on her bed trying to sleep but she didn't know why she couldn't sleep peacefully as she was missing something. Not knowing what it was but something felt missing.

On the other side, Aashrit kept on tossing over the bed regretting his decision to let her leave. He tried to sleep but nothing seemed to work. He took a cigarette out of the box and stood on the balcony reminiscing the little memories he had of her when he got the message from Adwait. He looked at the time as the clock was ticking 1 am

"Lights are still turned on in Rani sa's room. Should I go there?" Aashrit chuckled remembering her habit of sleeping with lights on.

"No. Just go to sleep." He messaged and stood there thinking about his cute little wife.

NEXT DAY

Meera was sitting at the breakfast table noticing the unamused expressions of her family. But due to Adwait's presence, none of them could say anything.

At first, Meera felt uncomfortable but later on, decided to ignore everything and focus on her food. She had her breakfast and looked up only to see the whole family looking at something behind her with a big smile on their faces.

"Hello, peeps." She heard the most dreading voice of her life.

She stilled in her seat and her hand stopped. Her ears perked up on hearing the voice. Her hands shivered under the table and suddenly her whole body got goosebumps. Her heart dropped hearing the voice.

And she heard................ She heard those footsteps nearing her. That smoky smell hit her nose making her scrunch up her nose and her nails dig into her palms. As those footsteps approached her, her heartbeat was rising. She wanted to run, she wanted to run away from there but she just couldn't move. Her legs and hands were shivering

"Hello, Meera " His disgusting voice spoke and Meera couldn't muster up the courage to look at him and just said a little hello while looking at her pate.

Soon everyone got busy with the talks when Meera noticed a continuous gaze on her. She knew whom this gaze belonged to. She didn't dare to look up and make eye contact with the person who haunted her days and dreams. Her hands sweat and she wiped them continuously on her night suit.

" So how's your husband treating you, Meera?" He asked again.

It seemed an innocent question to everyone but not Meera. She knew what sinister thoughts he might be having behind this question. She knew how his dirty mind was working, the dirty smirk he must be giving her right now.

And again Meera could just utter " Good " And nothing else.

"I am done with the breakfast," Meera said and abruptly left the table leaving no one shocked but one.

Adwait noticed her, he noticed her shivering legs, sweating hands, averted gaze, and raging breath. He noticed everything about her and his calculative eye then went to the new member of the family whose arrival changed the whole demeanour of Meera. He knew he had to inform Aashrit.

Meera entered her room and locked it. She checked the lock again and again after locking it just to make sure it was locked well. She ran and sat on the bed and hugged her blanket while many questions crowded her mind

Why is he here? Why now? I moved on. I don't want the same fear again in my life. I don't want to be near him.

She joined both her hands and looked up at the sky

"Mahadev, please. Please keep him away from him. Please save me this night only and I'll be leaving tomorrow. Please protect me from him."

She requested God to protect her only for this night.

She clutched her hair when some old memories flooded her mind

You should try it once.

You'll feel good, let me do it once.

Don't tell anyone what I said to you or else.

Come on look at me once. You'll love it.

Touch me here. It's not wrong. It's normal.

SLAP !! SLAP!!

Why do you run away from me?

You should enjoy your life to the fullest.

Meera was locked in her room since morning and it was noon when a knock was heard on her door. Her heartbeat raced when there was a silence for some seconds

"Rani sa, it's time for lunch." She heard Adwait's voice and she calmed down.

She stood up from the bed and opened the door a little bit. She didn't want to go down. She didn't want to face him. She wanted to just stay here in the embrace of her blanket safe from outside demons.

"I am not feeling well Adwait. You go and have your breakfast." She said to him trying to sound normal but it didn't seem normal to Adwait though.

I will call the doctor and bring your food to the room."He said making me tense

"NO" She almost shouted as she saw him turning back.

He turned to her with raised brows when Meera fumbled in her words again "I mean. I just want to take a rest. There is no need for a doctor." She said and looked at him observing her expressions. And he did what she was best at, she made a blank face, not giving a hint of her inner turmoil to Adwait but he knew better.

"I'll bring food to your room then." He said and Meera didn't find the courage in her to defy him and she just accepted her fate.

She again locked her room when Adwait left. Soon, Adwait brought her food and stood there in her room until she finished it.

Once done with food, Meera again locked herself to save her from the demon of her life. The only person in her life for whom she wished worst from God.

She was busy on her phone trying to distract herself when she heard a knock on the door followed by a voice.

"Meera." A faint voice was heard which made her suck a deep breath in fear.
