29. A hug

Happy Children's Day. I don't know how many of you are Children but I hope none 😂😂.

Meera came from her college with Shivansh on her tail to let him know about the man who stopped their car beside her. Although she already told him that they were just asking for direction but he was still being overprotective.

"But bhabhi, you don't know these university boys. I am just saying that you need to be safe and secure. Please let me tell bhai to increase your security." Shivansh said eating the fruits she was cutting and also feeding her while sitting on the dining table.

Meera got frustrated with his continuous talks and she pointed the knife at him "I am telling you bhaiya. If you did anything like that and my security got increased then trust me I am going to make sure your brother blocks your cards." She said with a serious expression scaring Shivansh for a moment.

He leaned back and put his hand on his chest "You are scary bhabhi. But....."

Before he could say something, Meera looked at him with a serious expression and he raised his hands in the air in surrender.

"But at least you can call me if you ever feel threatened." He said with a serious face and Meera nodded at him.

Their attention shifted when they saw Aashrit entering the house and going straight to the room. Meera then remembered something

"Bhaiya you finish these fruits. The jug in the room is empty, I'll fetch some water for your brother." She said standing up while Shivansh nodded at her.

Meera took a bottle of water from the fridge and ran upstairs. It was all a lie and she just wanted to see Aashrit, especially after yesterday night. As she reached her room, she saw Aashrit with his head against the headboard, his eyes closed and his hand rubbing his chest.

She poured the water into a glass and went to him "Aashrit ji" She called out to him.

He opened his eyes and looked at the glass in her hand. He thanked her and took the glass from her hand. After drinking water, he put the glass aside but found Meera still standing there.

"Is everything okay?" Aashrit asked with furrowed brows.

"That's what I wanted to ask," Meera replied and saw the strong façade slowly fading away from his face.

Aashrit heaved a deep breath and looked into her eyes. He wanted to lie to her and say that he was fine but his heart wasn't supporting him. The look in his eyes told Meera about the inner turmoil.

She pursed her lips together and moved forward "I read many things today and it was written there that hugs help in such a situation." She said avoiding his eyes "So....So.I was saying" She stuttered on her words while a smirk formed on Aashrit's face "We can try." She said with much more courage and looked up only to find him staring into her soul.

She was about to step back when he held her hand and pulled her making her fall on his lap. A shriek left her mouth but soon replaced with shock as he pulled her close encircling her waist and putting his head on her chest. Suddenly, her heartbeat stopped. Her breathing also stopped making her hands shiver with the closeness she was feeling. This is the closest any man ever came to her and it was heart-stopping. Her shivered hand held his shoulder.

Suddenly, she felt his hand over her hand and put it on his head.

"Can you caress it like yesterday? It was soothing and so calming." Aashrit said making her hand move slowly over his head.

Meera didn't believe her voice at the moment and just started moving her hands on his hair. A satisfied groan left his mouth which somehow made Meera clench her thighs. It didn't go unnoticed by Aashrit making him tighten his hold even more. And just to tease her more he pulled her close and purposely put his lips over the neck seam of her Anarkali and spoke.

"Where did you learn it from?" He spoke and his lips lightly caressed her neck as words left his lips.

Meera bit her lower lip feeling his lips over her exposed neck. Her mind was so much clouded with thoughts that she didn't hear his question making Aashrit look up at her. As he looked at her, he noticed her biting her lower lip with her eyes closed. The sight was so erotic for him.

He then heard a faint voice. He looked down and realized that it was her heart. Her heart was beating loud enough for him to hear. A smile formed on his face making his heart swell with the fact that he could make her heart race just by lightly touching her and for the past days he was avoiding her by thinking that she might not reciprocate his feelings. These little moments were giving him hope somewhere in his heart.

Aashrit leaned back on the bed with Meera still on his lap. She was still silent thinking about the position they were in. It is a very compromising position for her poor heart to handle.

"It is effective." He said trying to initiate a conversation between them again. His voice was a little loud than before making her come out of her thoughts

"Hmm," She could just hum feeling hard to breath on being so close to someone.

"You should check some other methods too. Because I love this one." He said the last sentence looking at her face which turned red due to all blushing and she was glowing.

Meera again nodded melting in his embrace.

"How was the day?" He asked again trying to converse with her but she was lost in her thoughts.

As Aashrit hugged her, suddenly her heart stopped and then calmed. Her mind was no longer clouded with unwanted thoughts. She felt relaxed suddenly. Her racing heart was calmed now. She didn't know that hugs do work. She thought it was for his relaxation or her.

Her thoughts came to a halt when she felt him moving her.

"Where are you lost, Meera?" He asked moving a hair strand from her face.

She couldn't speak again as she was missing the feeling of his lips on her neck. And the worst thing was that she couldn't even tell him that. Her eyes found him and she shook her head in no. And took a huge puff of air from her nose.

"How are you feeling?" She asked embarrassed about the situation she put herself into.

"Better than I have ever been." He replied looking lovingly at her face which was slightly getting red.

She could just nod and look at her lap with her one hand playing with her kurta.

"Can I get that whenever I want?" Aashrit finally asked the question that had been going on in his mind for so long.

Meera's neck snapped in his direction. She didn't expect him to say this. The only thing she expected was for him to hug her so that she didn't feel bad. But his question made her rethink all her decisions. Her heart fluttered on hearing him. He didn't feel tired of her or he didn't do it for her sake but he enjoyed it. A smile was threatening to come to her lips but she controlled it and just nodded her head.

"You can whenever you feel overwhelmed or like you need it." She said in a confused childlike voice which again made Aashrit's heart stop for a moment.

"Only when I need it?" He asked her which made Meera furrow her brows. "And what about when I want it." He asked her making her eyes go wide.

Before she could even answer, their room door opened with sudden interruption and Abhishek entered with his laptop and a little distracted face "Bhai there's a prob......" he said and shut his mouth on seeing his bhabhi hurriedly getting down from the bed.

Meera stood up from his lap in an instant making him take a deep breath of irritation. As much he loves his siblings but he hates their timings.

"You guys talk. I'll go and see dinner preparations." Meera said and left the room with a red face and overthinking mind.

Aashrit glared at Abhishek for ruining their special moment. While Abhishek noticed the scary look on his brother's face and he knew he was done for real. And the way her bhabhi ran with a red face and his bhai had an irritated expression, he knew he ruined something special. Somewhere he was happy that they both were giving each other a chance but also a bit upset that he ruined their moment and barged in without thinking.

"Tomorrow, I want Ahuja's file," Aashrit said and took his phone, leaving the room also.

Abhishek looked at his back and could just utter " But that meeting is next month. How am I supposed to prepare in one night?"
