24. Scared of him

Meera was scared to go back to her room after what happened in the evening. She was scared of what he would do now.

Would he stop her from going to college? Or would he shout at her? Or worse what if he raises his hand on her like his tauji do to her taiji often?

And with all these thoughts she sat at the swing outside in the garden. She was ready to spend her night here until his anger calmed down. She knew he was nice to her but she was worried especially after the Mahesh incident. As the night was getting darker, she was shivering but still couldn't get enough courage to go to his room.

She was suddenly startled when she felt something slide on her shoulder. She looked on her shoulder only to see a shawl wrapping around. She looked up to see Aashrit wrapping a shawl around her with one hand while his other hand was holding a tray.

"You'll get cold Meera." He said and sat beside her while keeping the tray on the table " Have some chai" He said giving her a cup which she didn't deny.

They both kept their sitting in silence until Aashrit spoke again " Why didn't you come to the room ?"

Meera looked at him scared to tell him what she felt and kept sitting there mum.

" If you don't talk Meera, I wouldn't be able to understand." He spoke again taking a sip of tea.

Meera took a deep breath " I am sorry."

"Why?"

" I defied your order." She said not looking up.

" You didn't."

Meera looked up at him shocked while he continued

" You acted as a real queen and saved me from making a wrong decision." He said and she was shocked.

"What?" Words left her mouth.

" Just because you are my wife, it doesn't mean that you need to agree with me in every decision. It simply means you should support me when needed and help me out when it's needed."

Meera was shocked on hearing him. It was the first time she saw a man having such open thoughts. And she was mesmerized. Only if they had a normal relationship, she would have kissed him right then and there. She shook her head on these unholy thoughts.

"Now finish your tea and go to sleep. I'll be in my office if you need anything," He said and left Meera sitting there to ponder her thoughts.

And a smile formed on her face seeing her husband .

"Uff this man!!!!! Why is he so sweet? Only if we had a normal relationship." She thought looking back at her husband going inside.

Some days later

It's been weeks since Meera started college. Everything was going smoothly and Shivansh also stopped her ragging except for her senior Ravi who was giving her unwanted attention which was quite creepy.

Today was her holiday and she was resting in her room, working on her assignments when she heard a knock. She said a come in and Revati entered with a blooming smile on her face. Meera smiled at her and asked her to take a seat.

"Bhabhi are you busy??" She asked while Meera shook her head in no and Revati continued "Great!! We siblings decided to watch at least one movie together in a week with you for bonding."

Meera's eyes went wide on hearing her. She just couldn't believe the fact that they were taking a step towards her. All her life people used to leave her alone when she couldn't reciprocate the emotions but not this time. This new family of hers doesn't leave her behind but stands strong with her. They hold her hand and walk with her. And Meera couldn't have asked for more.

"Will you join us??" She asked.

Meera got overwhelmed by getting the much-needed attention.

" Please please join us," Revati said holding her hands while the door opened frantically as Shivansh and Abhishek fell to the ground.

Meera looked at them wide eyes while Revati slapped her forehead and shouted at them "I asked you to wait."

"you were taking too much time," Shivansh said coming inside with Abhishek at his trail looking a little embarrassed.

"Bhabhi I would be straightforward with you," Shivansh said making Meera confused while he continued "We want to involve you in our youngster's gang. We can't risk you going into the elder's gang. So we decided to spend more time with you and decided on a movie evening."

His words made Meera smile a little.

Abhishek came forward and slapped Shivansh on the back of his head and said "He is stupid bhabhi. We want to interact with you more and make you comfortable here." He said.

Meera felt overwhelmed upon seeing their efforts. It was too much love for her who was never involved in any family occasion and now she was invited to these little moments also. Her throat clogged up but she took a deep breath and spoke.

"Sure.... Let me just wrap this up." She said putting her books aside.

"Ok, bhabhi. Come into the movie room. We will set the movie till then." Shivansh said excitedly.

"But I don't know where is the movie room," Meera said a little embarrassed which was noticed by Abhishek.

"No worries Revati will join you," Abhishek said but was interrupted by Revati

"But bhai I will be bringing food because I hide them in my room away from Maa and Badi Maa's sight."She said

Meera was about to speak but Abhishek cut her words

"OK, then I'll come with Bhabhi. You both go and set up the movie." Abhishek said and both the young ones left running from there.

Meera hurriedly cleared up all the clutter and they both left for the movie room. While on their way, Meera decided to thank him at least which was a big task itself for her.

"You came early today." She said making Abhishek chuckle.

"I always come at sharp 5P.M bhabh. It's only your dear husband who comes late."He said clearing her confusion while she made an O face.

"Bhabhi " Abhishek said taking her attention "We know it's all new for you. But I just want to say that and Shivansh is like your younger brother and Revati is like a younger sister. We want to make sure you are comfortable here. If you have any problem that you are not able to share with Bhai, we just want to tell you that you can always come up to us three, we will always be there for you no matter what."

Meera had no words and she just nodded at him.

Soon, they reached the movie room and settled at the last seat.

As the movie finished, they all went for dinner. The whole family was already waiting for them.

"So how was the movie?" Rashmi said as they all settled.

"It was so nice mamma," Meera said with a smile.

Meera started smiling a lot more in the past few days and she realized her life was changing for the better. She loves this new part of her life. She loves these new people in her life. She loves this new change.

As the food was being served, Meera noticed Aashrit was still not there.

"I'll go and call Aashrit ji." She said standing up when Ranveer stopped her.

" He is in a meeting beta. He will be late." He said making Meera sit back.

The food was served except for Meera's plate. Anika noticed this and asked her

" Meera, why are you not eating?" She said gaining everyone's attention.

Meera suddenly felt every eye on her " I don't have much of an appetite right now choti maa. I will eat later." She said pushing her empty plate a little away.

"What do you mean you don't have appetite? You can't skip dinner." Darsh said concerned for her.

Rashmi lightly slapped him on his shoulder "You don't understand veer. She is waiting for Aashrit. Right, Meera?" She said making Meera blush red.

And a series of coughs were heard from the youngster making Meera blush more.

"No mamma. I am just not hungry."

"As you say bhabhi," Revati said with a teasing smile on her face.

"Ok stop teasing her," Rajveer said and a chorus of laughter was heard around the room.

Meera felt shy in front of everyone and wanted the earth to swallow her up. But to god's grace, before any more teasing could be done Aashrit already entered the house.
