Ahana nodded as they both did their duties before Leaving the hotel room. Neil held Ahana's Hands as he took her to some room in the hotel which she had no clue about. As they reached, Neil opened the door for Ahana indicating her to enter in.
As Ahana walked in. She Saw the room was pitch black. She turned to look for Neil only to see him missing as well. She frowned in confusion which soon vanished just as the lights flickered on and loud thud sounds came as confetti started to fall on her. She turned to see her family standing there smiling brightly at her as they sang Happy Birthday to you.
She looked around with the room to see The kids, Neil, Preeti, Rohan, Sid, Rahul, Shruti, And Angali singing while clapping their hands. In Preeti's hands were a vanilla cake which Stated Happy Birthday. The background had Few balloons hung up and Other small decorations were hung up as well. As They finished the song, one by one everyone hugged Ahana wishing her personally. Ahana took blessings from Rahul and Angali.
Ansh/Naira:(Yelling as they hugged Ahana)"Happyyyyy Birthdaayyyy Mummaaaa"
Ahana:(Laughs)"Thank you Sweethearts "(She said pulling each of their cheeks and kissing them on the forehead)
Aryan:(Coming up after his brother and sister with something behind his back)"Happy Birthday Mumma"(He said softly while Ahana smiled and Sat down on her knees to cup Aryan's Face)
Ahana:"Thank you Baby"
Aryan:"Mumma I..."
Ahana:"Yes baby What Happened?"
Aryan looked at Sid who smiled and nodded before he turned to Look at Ahana who looked at him with a smile still confused as to what is going on.
Aryan:"I got you a present "
Ahana:(Excited)"Really! Show me"
Aryan pulled out a Small paper from behind his back. It looked like a hand drawn card. Ahana opened it up to see it decorated with small but cute pictures like balloons and Birthday cakes. It stated Happy Birthday in the middle while it Also had A small pocket like thing which had something in it. Ahana pulled out the item and her eyes teared at the sweet gift. It was a necklace made out of beads that come in bracelet sets for kids with the middle having a heart that stated Best Mom.
Ahana:" This is so beautiful Aryan. Thank you baby. It's truly a amazing gift."( She said with a smile on her face as Aryan jumped in happiness) " Can mumma get a hug"
Aryan wrapped his arms around Ahana Happily while A tear fell from Ahana's eyes as she felt overwhelmed with emotions of Happiness. She looked at Neil who was staring at them with a soft smile. Ahana chuckled slightly hugging Aryan tightly. She then pulled back and kissed his forehead.
Ahana:"Thank you baby. I will always keep this with me"( She said looking at the necklace in her hand.)
Though it looked like a normal kiddish necklace but for Ahana it held the love and care of Her son Aryan. It was way to precious for her. It is true that it doesn't matter If something is small or big. Nor does the price matter. The only thing that makes something special is the emotions attached to it. And this gift was too precious to Ahana.
Ahana:"Aryan, Baby, will you help mumma and Tie this."
Aryan:"Sure mumma "( Ahana turned around while Aryan tried tying to around her neck but struggled. Neil saw this and Sat next to Aryan helping him tie the necklace)
Sid:"You know Bhabhi. This Kid over here Made this necklace today taking a full 1 hour while at the mall. They had a station for kids to play and he made this gift for you. He even used the money which I was getting everyone ice cream with to get the heart with the best mom to go along with the necklace "(Neil smiled as he picked Aryan in his arms while Ahana kissed Aryan forehead.)
Preeti:"Common common bhabhi let's cut the cake before it melts"
Shruti pulled Ahana by the tables as the knife was handed to her to cut the cake. She cut the cake and fed everyone one by one starting with Neil and the kids. After cake everyone was seated busy in talking and enjoying the evening. Ahana looked around as Happiness filled her heart. Her family looked so happy and beautiful. It had been a while since so much happiness had come in her life. She didn't want anything to happen that would ruin this.
As Ahana looked around her eyes stopped on 2 figures standing in the corner. She looked shocked as they stepped towards her.
Ahana:(shocked as tears fell from her eyes)"Mu...mummma...p..pa..Papaaa"( Her mom and dad stood in front of her with a smile. Ahana stood up as everything around her froze. Her eyes were fixed only on her parents.)
Ahana's Mom:"My baccha has grown so much "(she said cupping Ahana's face)
Ahana's Dad:"We are proud of you Ahana"( As he ran his hand on her head) "You have finally learned to fully open up and enjoy yourself. All thanks to Neil"
Ahana:(Breaking down as she hugged her parents)"Mumma...Papa...You...Why did you leave me...why Maa..."
Ahana's Mom:"Shhh Beta. We never left you. We are always with you. In you smile. In you heart. In you eyes. We are always there. Beta even though you aren't our small Ahana anymore. Even though you yourself are a wonderful mother to 3 kids, for us you are our baby only Ahana."
Ahana's Dad:"You have been through alot Ahana and multiple situation will come in the future also that may break you but remember Ahana we are always with you. Always choose your Happiness child. "
Ahana's Mom/Dad:"Happy Birthday Beta. Happy Birthday "( Their voice faded as They themselves slowly faded.)
Ahana:"Mumma! Papa!"( Ahana called out seeing them fade away. Soon Ahana felt a hand on her shoulder and as she turned she saw Neil looking at her with worry)
Neil:"Ahana, Shona are you okay"
Ahana looked back at the direction where her parents stood but no one was their. Was it all a dream? She kept her hands on her eyes and felt tears falling. She looked around to see everyone busy laughing and enjoying the night. Ahana looked back at Neil who still had a worried face on.
Ahana:( Taking Neil's hands in hers)" I am okay Neil. It's just I...I am overwhelmed with happiness that why these tears"
Neil:(Side hugging Ahana)" You sure Ahana. You know of there is something you can tell me"
Ahana:(sighs)"Idk Neil. It's weird but a good weird. It feels as if my parents were here. After almost 6 years they were in front of me. Hugging me. Advising me. After 6 years it feels like the heavy weight of their death is finally of my shoulders. As if they themselves are happy that I am happy now. I finally get why I don't need to be depressed by the fact that my parents aren't with me because it's not true. They are always here with me. They are always here in me"( She said keeping her hands on her heart) " Do you get what I mean. I might sound like a idiot right now."( She said looking at Neil to see him smiling at Her)
Neil:"Trust me Jaan when I say I understand everything. Baby you are finally free from you guilt which you had hidden in you heart for so long. I might have had a similar experience as your. "( He said remembering his encounter with Aarti)
Ahana hugs Neil tightly as she rests her head on his shoulder while he rests his head on hers looking at their happy Family. It was a perfect moment for them and they all enjoyed it with all their heart.
The rest of the vacation was as fun as the first few days. The week passed in a jiff with travelling and getting to spend time together. Ahana's birthday as we saw had also ended on a incredible note. The Malhotra Family visited few more spots in lonavala for the next few days and also enjoyed time together. Ahana and Neil's bond also grew as this trip bonded them more then ever. On Saturday they all traveled back home after a whole week of vacation.
It was now 5 days after they all had arrived home. These 5 days were just normal as everyone tried getting back into normal routine. The kids school started 2 days after they arrived and same with office for Men. Today was Friday. Ahana was working in the kitchen making Neil's favorite dish when her phone rang. She turned the gas off and picked up the call which was from Prabha.
Ahana:"Hello Maa! How are you?"
Prabha:"I am fine beta. What about you?"
Ahana:"I am also good Maa"
Prabha:"Okay beta listen. Sanjeev and I want to talk to you about something. Can you and Neil come here for dinner"
Ahana:( Wiping her hands)" What happened Maa. Anything serious "
Prabha:"No no... it's just I'll tell you tomorrow. Just come here okay"
Ahana:"Okay Maa we will be there tomorrow "
Ahana cut the call as she started to set the dish in the plate. She told on of the servants to serve some plates to Sameer and Ryan's room while Ahana headed to her room with a tray in her hand. Ahana entered and kept the tray on the table, She saw Neil in the balcony on the phone. He turned towards her and smiled then signaled a 5 with his hands stating for her to give him 5 mins. She nodded and started to set the plates up.
It was around 7 in the evening. The kids along with Sid and Preeti have gone swimming. Angali and Rahul had gone to one of their friends house. Rohan and Shruti were in their room while Sid and Ryan were in their respective rooms.
Neil finished his call and headed to Ahana. He kissed her forehead before taking the plate from her hands and settling down next to her on the sofa. Neil eat the food enjoying its flavors as Ahana watched him. After finishing the dish, Neil layed down on the sofa with his head in Ahana's lap as he snuggled into her stomach.
Ahana:(running her hands through his hair)" You look so tired Neil. You shouldn't work this much"
Neil:"I know Ahana. But this deal is important and Natasha is irritating the shit out of me"
Ahana:(sighs)" I know baby"
Neil had gotten a responsibility of a big deal with Natasha's dad. Due to this deal he couldn't do anything about Natasha. For the past 2 days she has been call him for dinner. Neil had Refused god knows how many times but she doesn't understand at all.
Ahana:"Neil Prabha Maa called some time back. She wanted to talk to us about something. She called us for dinner tomorrow "
Neil:"Alright we will go. Tomorrow at 7?"
Ahana:"Yeah"( Neil nodded)
Neil:(getting up)" By the way how are you feel now?"
Ahana:"much better Neil. Today was much better."
Neil:"Good but remember if you don't feel well we can go to the doctor right away."
Ahana:"I know Neil. But It is just due to weather change. Lonavala was cold and when we came here it became warm again. And now the weather is changing Again. It's probably just due to it"
Neil:"Alright."
Kids:( running into the room)" Mummaaaaaaa Paaappppaaaa"
Ahana:( In fake Angry face)" finally you all came. 2 hours. 2 hours you all swam. I told you right, you 3 better not get sick. "
Ansh:"Mumma. Chachu warmed the pool up"
Ahana:"that won't matter Ansh. The weather is changing and swimming time has gone. "( She said as She ran her hands through Aryan's hair to check if it is still wet)
Aryan:"Mumma Chachi blow dryer"
Naira:"Yes mumma it went shhhhh shhhh"
Ahana:( Laughed)"really"(The 3 of the nodded making Ahana and Neil smile more)
Neil:"Okay Common now tell me about your day"( He said picking Naira in his arms and heading to the bed while Ansh and Aryan ran after him)
