Rahul and Angali decide to do something to get Ahana and Neil closer. Angali called Sid and told him the matter.
Sid:"Mom dad I have a plan.."
Rahul:" what's the plan"
Sid:"but before that I need you to tell me when the other function will take place."
Angali:"Day after tomorrow is Mehendi, then Sangeet, then Haldi and then Wedding"
Sid:"Shit! How can execute the plan in one day"
Rahul:(Slightly hitting his head)"oyee First tell us the plan sid. Stop with the unnecessary suspense "
Sid:"Dad common dont hit me in public I hate a image to maintain "(He said acting all cool )
Rahul:"Image my foot. Tell the plan aur your credit card will be canceled for a month "
Sid:"What but"
Rahul:"2 months "
Sid:"Dad!!"
Rahul:"4 months and FYI ur delay is only making the situation worse for u"(All this while Angali was giggling at this Father - son Banter. )
Sid:"Okay fine listen. I was thinking why not....."(He tells his plan to Rahul and Angali )
Angali:"The Plan is not bad but it can't be executed till after marriage "
Sid:"Yeah "
Rahul:"Well before marriage or after marriage the main goal is to get them closer and for that the day doesn't matter"
Sid:"yes"
Rahul:"So Sid can you handle everything "
Sid:"Yep"
Angali:"Okay we will discuss this later. It time for the Engagement "
The family members move towards the stage. The main couple are asked to stand up. The kids Stand next to them. Prabha and shruti comes up and stand next to the couple with the rings in their hands. Shruti first passes the ring to Neil.
Neil looks at the ring and remember his moments with Aarti. Ahana is looking down not comfortable with the situation as she herself is remember Rajeev. Prabha keeps her hand on Ahana's shoulder indicating her to move her hand forward. Coming to reality she moves her left hand out. Neil Slowly slides the ring in her hands. While Ahana does the same right after. Everyone claps as the couple look down at their hands. Neil remember how he proposes to Aarti for their marriage. He remembers their engagement day as his eyes became watery. Meanwhile Ahana remember her engagement and the day Rajeev died. She remembers how she still has the rings in her box where other Rajeev's stuff are. Her eyes as well get teary but both of them hide their tears and look at their kids. They see Ansh, Naira and Aryan clapping and smiling. They smile seeing their kids and say to themselves in their mind.
Ahana/Neil:( in their minds)"This is all for the kids. Only for the kids"
People say that the purpose of making ur partner wear a ring on the ring finger of their left hand is because that finger connects straight to the heart. Though both Ahana and Neil were doing this for the kids, were their hearts ever gonna connect? Will they also find their happiness in this marriage?
After the rings were exchanged, People started heading towards dinner. A separate table was made for Ahana, Neil and the Kids to eat at. Preeti lead them to their table which was in the corner away from all the attention. Neil and Ahana settle down the kids and headed to get their dinner at the buffue. Ahana prepared the plate for the kids with the help of Neil as they carried it back to the table. Ahana was feeding Naira while Ansh was being fade by Neil. Aryan being a big boy was eating by his own.
Sid:(coming to their table)"bhai bhabhi you guys haven't even started eating?"
Preeti:"Oh yes. Wait I'll get ur food"(She got a plate for them as well)" if you need anything else just call me"( Ahana nodded)
Naira:"Mumma now that the..engy..engyme"
Ahana:(Smiles at her cuteness )"Engagement "
Naira:"Enga..engament( Engagement ) is done, you will live with us?"( she asked with hope in her eyes. Ahana looked at Neil before answering )
Ahana:"Baby I'll live with you after 5 days okay"
Naira:"but 5 days is tooooooo far"
Ahana:"Dont worry they will pass fast. You won't even know because you have to do soo much fun in all the rituals"
Ansh:"And no school also"(he said excitedly )
Ahana:"Yeah yeah Mr. school hater no School for a whole week"
Kids:"Yeahh"
Neil:"So you hate school huh"(He asked Ansh)
Ansh:"no"( he said nodding no)
Neil:"then?"
Aryan:"Papa no one hates school, we hate studies that it"
Neil:"oh really "( he asked raising his eyebrows while all the 3 kids nodded smiling )
Naira:"only lunch and recess is fun at school and friends "
Ansh:"other then that math and English is not fun"
Aryan:"plus homework "(They all sad with dramatic face expressions amazing their parents )
Ahana:"Oh really"( She looks at Neil and they blink their eyes before they both started to tickle the kids)
The kids were a laughing mess while Neil and Ahana were busy tickling them. Hearing the voice of the kids everyone looks at the table and smiles seeing the adorable moments. But Ahana, Neil and the kids were unaware of their moments being witnessed.
Naira:"maa..maa...paaa...stop"(She said between laughing )
Ansh:"no...no..."(He said between his laughter )
Aryan:(in between laughing )"Pa...papa stop...mumma papa stop "
Hearing the word Mumma Ahana freezes and stops tickling them. Seeing Ahana freeze Neil also stops tickling the kids and looks up.
Ahana:(to Aryan)"What ...what did u say?"
Aryan:"Mumma"
Ahana:"Say it onces again "
Aryan:"mumma"( As he calls her Mom again, Ahana kisses his forehead before pulling him into a hug. She look up at Neil to see him smile at them. She looks at the other kids looking at them confused )"you both also come here"(She said as she opens her hands and the all the kids hugs her)
She had succeeded. She had succeeded in creating a place in Aryan's heart. That very moment she promised herself to never let these kids down. Aryan was trusting her and she knew never to break that. She knew that for a kid to accept a total stranger as his or her parent is hard and its more hard when you have memories of ur real parent. But Aryan had given her a chance and she wasn't gonna let it go in waste. She hugged the kids tightly kissing each of their forehead. All this while Neil looked at them with adoration. This is what he wanted his kids to get a mothers love and for them to be happy.
