164 It Was You Who Snatched My Things
Half an hour later, they were in the Smiths.
Carl, Rosa, Rosy, and John were all present.
Isabella greeted everyone but did not receive any response.
Rosa was nervous, Rosy ignored her, while Johnâs eyes were full of ridicule.
âAlright, Rosy, Isabella is here too. Why did you call everyone back in such a hurry? Johnâs legs havenât fully recovered yet.â
Carl sat in the main seat, looking impatient.
âYou will know it in a while.â
Seeing that Isabella sitting down beside Rosa, Rosy smiled, âIsabella, I heard that youâve been filming with Lukas recently, havenât you?â
Isabella instantly felt that something was wrong, so she carefully replied, âYes, itâs just a small role. Lukas said that he needed someone for the role, so...â
.....
âSo you f*cking took the opportunity to seduce Lukas, didnât you?â
Rosyâs smile disappeared, she exploded and swung the photos in her hand at Isabellaâs head, âYou vixen, why are you so cheap?â
Voluminous photos which were all of Lukas and Isabella fell.
In the photos, they were drinking coffee together and laughing together, they were strolling around the flea market together, and they were dancing and kissing on the rooftop...
Suddenly Isabellaâs eyes widened. Rosy grabbed her collar and shouted, âLukas and I are about to get engaged, but why do you still interfere? Are you so happy to ruin my happiness?â
Carl picked up the photos on the ground and stood up, âIsabella, How could you do that? How dare you love Rosyâs boyfriend?â
âNo! Isabella was in a moment of aberration!â
âIsabella is always good at seducing men!â
For a time, Carlâs roar, Rosyâs crying, Rosaâs begging, and Johnâs ridicule were all mixed up.
Isabella sighed.
Isabella did not expect that Rosy would find someone to follow Lukas. It turned out that they had already faced a crisis of trust.
Forget it, what should come will always come.
Isabella reached out her hand, brushed away Rosyâs arm, tidied her hair, and showed indifference and fearlessness in front of everyone for the first time.
âI didnât seduce Lukas, nor did I steal anyoneâs boyfriend. We were in love in the first place, and Lukas finally accepted his feelings.â
âIn love? What nonsense are you spouting?â Rosy shrieked.
âYes, as you see in the photos, Lukas confessed his love to me the night before yesterday. He is now abroad and may not have time to tell you...â
Isabella looked at the crowd with a firm expression, seemingly full of the courage to face any difficulties, âTheir engagement ceremony may not be able to be held as scheduled. I have classes in the afternoon, so I will go back to school first.â
Everyone was stunned and silent.
Carl fell to the sofa and said in disbelief, âLukas, how could you do that? Rosy, call Lukas immediately and ask him to come back, no matter where he is. If he doesnât come back and make it clear, I will not let him go!â
Rosa collapsed on the sofa, crying.
The Smiths were in chaos.
âWait!â
Seeing Isabella standing up, Rosy suddenly pulled her, âYou said that Lukas confessed his love to you the night before yesterday? Are you daydreaming? He was discussing the guest list with me last night and almost didnât sleep all night!â
Isabella was stunned, âLukas was with Rosy last night? How was this possible?â
Rosy grabbed Isabella by the collar and said, âIf you kneel and beg for mercy to admit that you are despicable. I wonât argue with you, but if you dare to slander Lukas, I wonât let you go!â
âI didnât slander Lukas!â
Isabella panicked but firmly replied, âIf you donât believe it, you can wait for Lukas to come back. He will explain it to you! We have always been in love! I have taken care of him for so long, and he must have remembered that he loved me! It was you who robbed Lukas from me!â
Rosy staggered as she was pushed by Isabella. Recalling that Lukas often mentioned the sweet memory that he had been taken good care of during his recovery from the accident, Rosy felt both ashamed and angry. Her face was filled with tears of grievance, âIsabella, you are unreconciled. You are deliberately causing trouble...â
Seeing that his biological daughter was crying, Carl became furious.
He grabbed Isabella, âHow dare you strike Rosy? Damned girl! Scram to the basement!â
âNo!â
âI didnât do anything wrong! Why should I go to the basement? If you donât believe me, you can ask Lukas!â cried Isabella.
âYouâre really disobedient today! Isabella!â
Accompanied by Rosaâs cries, Isabella was dragged along by her hair and arms, stumbling to the basement.
Carl then opened a dark cellar and pushed her down.
âNo, no, no!â
Isabellaâs rage immediately turned into fear. She refused to go down the cellar by holding the lid, âDad! You could ask Lukas! I didnât lie! I didnât steal my sisterâs boyfriend! Why do you punish me?â
âI will ask Lukas, but today you fail to respect the elders! So you must stay here and reflect on your actions!â
âNo!â
âI wonât hit you for the sake of your gown in a few days, but if you dare to make a fuss again, Iâll beat you until your skin and flesh are lacerated!â
Carl said, picking up the whip beside him and swinging it.
Isabella covered her fingers in pain and fell.
The lid of the cellar was covered with heavy stones...
âDad! I donât dare to contradict you again. Please let me out! I donât want to stay here!â
The door to the cellar was slapped loudly, but no one could hear it.
Isabellaâs cries and pleas for mercy were loud and shrill at first, but they turned weaker and weaker until they slowly disappeared...
At eight oâclock in the evening.
In the Wilson Manor.
Knocking at the door.
âMr. Joseph, William said he couldnât contact Miss Isabella. I donât know what to do.â
Gerry asked outside the study.
âMiss Fox probably knows very well that I will kill her when I return.â
Joseph snorted and ignored him, âShe dare to make me look like a demon, isnât she just secretly cursing me that Iâm not a human? Forget about her! She wonât be missing!â
At 11 oâclock.
Knocking at the door.
âMr. Joseph, William said that Miss Isabella is not back yet, and she canât be got in touch with through the phone. Could something have happened?â
âCome in and say.â
Gerry entered the room.
Joseph looked up at the clock and frowned, âSend her a message and say that I wonât argue with her. Ask her where she is and send a car over to pick her up. By the way, donât let my grandpa know about this.â
âYes.â
At two in the morning.
Joseph paced back and forth in the study.
Gerry pushed the door open and entered, âIâm sure Miss Isabella is not at school and her phone is powered off.â
