Preet's parents entered and ignored the shocking expression of Veer and Rajvansh's family.
Veer couldn't believe his eyes. Why would they do this to him and his family?
Damini glared at them for defaming her family's name and reputation. They hurt her pride. She is furious from the inside. But she controls herself from losing her cool in the Police station and creating unnecessary.
"What is all this Karan? Is this a joke to you? Why did you do this?" she asked, gritting her teeth.
Karan Sharma, Preet's father looks at her with a blank face. Preet's mother comes forward and looks at her then turns to Veer with anger and hurt.
"Damini ji, we should ask all these questions from you and your family?" She asked angrily.
She stood in front of Veer and tears appeared in her eyes,
"I gave my daughter to you with so much trust. But you and your evil family broke my trust. My Preet is the kindest and sweetest girl you ever get but you didn't value her. You peopleâ¦are torturing my daughter. Did you not feel ashamed for doing such a horrible crime and hurting my innocent Preet? Why Veer?" She asked while crying looking into Veer's confused eyes.
"What..t? What are you saying, Mom? You must be mistaken. You have some misunderstanding. Why would we do something to hurt her?" Veer told her to try to make her believe her.
Karan glared at him and stood in front of him.
"We are not making things, Mr. Veer Singh Rajvansh. I won't leave for physically and mentally torturing my daughter. Just wait and watch. I will make sure you all rot in jail," He spat then turned to Damini and Urmila before looking at the officer.
"Do whatever you want. I want them behind the bars. And here is the proof," He said to the officer , placing a few pictures on the table.
Veer looks at the pictures and his eyes widen in shock and panic. He picked up the picture of Preet with few bluish marks and redness on her hand and feet. In one of the pictures she is holding her hand with slight redness while face is twisted in pain and tears flowing from her eyes.
"Why are you so shocked? You people are the one who gave her these scars. Don't know what more you people did with her," Karan said with clench jaw feeling anger bubbling inside him.
"Who told you all these things? Did Preet tell you that we are abusing her?" Veer asked, now having enough of his fake accusations.
"Why would she tell us when you all threaten her and blackmail to keep her mouth shut. We won't tell you who revealed your truth but just so you know, someone from your house informs you about your horrible act," Veer curls his fingers in a fist tightly.
Damini and Urmila look shocked and confused. Thinking about who could give false information to them.
"Mr. Sharma, we need a victim's statement before proceeding with investigation and file the case," The police officer informed Karan who looked at his wife and silently asked something.
"Preet is not picking up my call. I was trying for two hours," as soon as she said Karan turned to Veer and asked
"Where is my daughter, Veer?" Veer looked at him in shock and in disbelief.
"How would I know? I have been here for 3 hours. She must be at home. Let me call her. Ask them to give me my phone for a minute," he said politely, now feeling worried for Preet.
"You must do something for her. If something happens to her then no one will save you from me," Karan whispered, holding his collar as fear of losing his daughter made him restless.
"Nothing will happen to her. I knowâ¦," he said firmly as if assuring himself.
"Bhai.." Suddenly Aarav and Avni along with Rajveer come inside the police station.
Damini and Urmila turn to them. Seeing Aarav and Avni, Urmila runs to him and hugs Aarav feeling scared.
"It's okay Mom. Don't worry," he gave her a smile.
Avni looked worried and intimidated in the police station. She is exhausted after a long journey.
But she maintains her normal expression not to worry her family more than they already are.
Veer is in a daze with everything going on.
"Don't worry, I already informed our lawyer. He will handle everything,"
Veer nodded looking lost then look at Karan and Sakshi who are looking worried and continuously calling Preet. He is worried for her. The thought of something happen to her make him panic but he shook the thought immediately.
After a few minutes, their lawyer arrived and nodded at Rajveer before going to the police officer.
Sakshi let out tears, worried for Preet. She suddenly turns to Veer and walks to him in anger. She held his collar and muttered in rage,
"I will kill if something happens to her," Veer looked at her with blank face and freed his collar from her hand gently.
"I didn't do anything. Nor my family,"
He said looking into her eyes then gazing at Karan.
After a few paperwork and legal formalities, the police officer let Rajvansh's family go as they couldn't keep them in the Police station until the victim gave the statement against them and signed the FIR herself.
"This is not the end, Veer. My Preet will not stay with you and your family," Veer look into his eyes and said in his hard voice,
"Like I will let you. She is my wife and she will stay with me. I will also see how you make her go away from me, Mr. Sharma," saying Veer walked out of the police station with others.
Veer called Preet as soon as he reached Rajvansh Villa. But she didn't pick up.
He is getting worried and frustrated. He felt restless not knowing her whereabouts.
When he walked inside the house, he saw everyone sitting around Avni. He rushed toward her to see her sweating badly. Aarav is rubbing her palms while Urmila caresses her back to calm her down.
"What happened, Aarav?" he asked Aarav. He looked up at him with a worried face.
"I don't know, Bhai. Suddenly she started feeling suffocated,"
"Call the doctor, Rajveer. She is not looking good," Rajveer nodded and immediately called the doctor.
"All this happened because of you and your wife. You both can't see my family happy. See what your wife did now. After insulting and humiliating us in front of the whole society, she hid herself," Urmila spat glaring at Veer then looked at Avni.
"Aarav took her to your room. I am sending something to eat for her. She must be stressed after whatever happened today," Aarav took her to the room.
"Maâ¦now I won't hear anyone. I was so scared today. Just told him and his wife to not involve me and my children in their stupid drama. I won't leave anyone if something happens to Avni and her baby because of them," she said to Damini and walked away.
Damini also left after shaking her head.
"Talk to Preet, Veer. And ask her to talk to her parents about what they are trying to do. I won't let anyone play with my family's reputation," Veer looked down and nodded as Rajveer said.
As he was left alone in the living area, he looked at his phone and looked at Preet's number. But halted before he could touch on her name.
"Where are you?"
He sighs after cutting the call. He called her restaurant to ask about her but they said she left two hours ago.
"Just please be safe,.." he murmured to himself looking outside the window.
He snapped his head, hearing the door open and looking to see Preet walking inside the room tiredly.
He ran to her, making her flinch as she was surprised to see him so early.
"You are early-"
"Where were you? And where is your phone?" she frowned at his cold voice.
"Ohh.. I forgot my phone in the car," she casually said.
"Do you know what happened today?" he asked her, making her look at him then shook her head.
"What happened?" she asked in a low voice seeing his eyes rage in his eyes.
"Your parents file a case against me and my family for torturing you⦠" Preet froze as her eyes widened in shock.
"What?!" she whispered as she became speechless.
She sat on the bed with a thud and looked at him.
Veer sighed seeing her so stunned and sat beside her. He told her everything, whatever happened in the police station.
"How could they do this? Let me talk to them," she said and took her phone.
"Shh..calm down," Veer told her, holding her shaking hands.
"How can I calm down, Veer. At Least they should ask me once before jumping into a conclusion. And they just believe anyone without thinking of the consequences," she said, feeling anger and frustration.
"Take a breath Preet," she let out a deep breath looking guilty thinking what he and the whole family have to go through because of her parent's decision.
She fell into his arms and tears started forming in her eyes.
"I don't know if they are doing something like this. They didn't tell me anything. I am so sorry you all have to go through the humiliation because of them," she cried in his arms.
Veer caresses her back consoling her.
"Shhâ¦don't cry," he said and patted her head softly.
She pulled away with red puffy eyes and wiped her tears with the back of her hand.
"I need to talk to them," she said firmly. He nodded at her.
She walked into the balcony with her phone.
She angrily cut the call then looked up at the reddish sky. She slowly calms her anger.
She can't believe her parents aren't believing her. They think she is lying because Veer threatened her. Like seriously. First they make them go through humiliation now they are not ready to listen to her.
But they reluctantly agree to take back the case when she lost her calm and told them she will file a case against for defaming her husband and in-laws.
She doesn't want to be rude to them but they are not listening to her.
Veer walked into the balcony and watched her looking lost. He stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist making her come out of her trance.
He kissed her head and rested his chin on her head as they stood in silence.
"Everyone must be angry with me," she asked.
"Hmm.." he hummed while gently stroking his fingers on her stomach.
"They will hate me more. They already didn't like me," she sadly whispered.
He sighs softly and tightens his hold around her waist. He didn't say anything not knowing what to say and consoled her.
"I am so sorry, Veer," she murmurs.
He slowly turns her around and looks at her. Her eyes shining with unshed tears. He kisses her forehead then softly kid her eyes as they close them.
"You are not at fault. Don't be sorry. I know our family don't like us much or maybe despise our presence but I will always be there for you. I will never hate you. We will always be there for each other. Hmm," she smiles sadly and cups his face with her palms.
"Just be with me, always," she whispered and moving close to his face, she placed her lips on his and softly kissed him.
"I love you," she confessed while kissing him more sensually and deeply.
