Alice's POV:
Four Months Later
Jace and I are still together. It was weird in the beginning but now it's kind of natural. I ended up finding out about the bet that the boys made. I fought with Jace but he bought me an expensive skateboard and with time I forgave him. I guess it is annoying that he played a part in all of it but we've been through so much and the bet isn't something I would want to lose Jace forever over.
"Alice! Get up!" My mother yelled at me. I opened my eyes and glared at her.
"What is so important that you had to wake me up?" I asked her. She rolled her eyes at my childishness.
"Your graduation is today!" She cheered. A smile plastered on my face. I'll never have to be in high school again after today. I'm going to Dartmouth in the Fall but until then, I'll be free.
In the last few months, I've healed from what happened to me before. The memories will still be there but I know that I'm not alone. I went back to school and got my grades up because almost dying made me realize that I can't go through life expecting everything to be given to me, I have build my future and work for it. So I'm going to get my bachelor's degree in broadcasting and I'm going to be a newscaster on ESPN.
"Well don't just sit there! Get ready." My mother ordered and walked out of the room. I know that I hate dresses but my mother really wanted me to wear one just for graduation. I felt like it was the least I could do because I've put her through so much lately. My mother bought me a blue dress that went to my feet. She wanted me to look elegant but I just looked foolish.
I put on the dress and looked in the mirror. My black and white Converse were by my bed and I decided that since no one can see my feet, I'll wear shoes. I would never wear heels anyway. I threw my brown hair into a lazy pony tail and grabbed my graduation cap and gown. My phone vibrated.
I'm here.
I ran down the stairs and waved goodbye to my mother.
"I'll see you at the school!" I called out and opened the door. The boys stood in my parking lot. They all had suits on. Jace had a blue tie, Ryder had a red one, and Alec had a green one. Harley was there too. Eventually I learned her name. She's not too bad. Alec had his arm around her. Her purple dress clung to her sides. Jace looked me up and down. I glared at him but walked over anyway. There was a car in the front. Everyone piled in except for Jace and me.
"Looking good Skater Girl." Jace winked at me and I laughed out loud. Was that Jace attempting to flirt with me? He was so much better at that when we weren't dating.
"What are you doing? Get in the car." I told him and he shook his head. Jace took my hand and led me next door to the garage. There was an amazing silver motorcycle.
"Your chariot awaits you." He motioned for me to get on.
"Oh my god! We're going to graduation on your motorcycle? That's so awesome!" I cheered. Jace started riding motorcycles about two months ago. Ryder gave Jace his old one but that was not the motorcycle that was in front of me. He must have gotten a new one.
"No we aren't." He simply replied. Wait what? Now I'm confused. "We are going to graduation on your motorcycle." He corrected me. My jaw dropped.
"Jace, I really want it, but I can't take it. This is too expensive." I declined and he groaned with annoyance.
"Just take it Alice. Don't be difficult." He waved the keys in front of my face.
"Graduation is in an hour so I have to take it now but this conversation is not over." I sighed and took the keys away from him. He smiled at his accomplishment and handed me a helmet. I got on the bike and motioned for him to hop on. When we first started dating, we fought about a lot of things that had to do with the rolls in our relationship. Eventually, he gave up and we both do whatever feels right in the situation. Normally, a guy would be driving the motorcycle because some bastards are sexist but that is not how do things. Jace is still the guy in the relationship but just because he is a male doesn't mean he can control everything and Jace knows that.
I drove to the school and everyone had on their gowns and caps. I parked the motorcycle and put on my cap and gown so I looked like everyone else. Jace did the same. I saw Ryder park the car in the parking lot and run up to us along with the other two.
"How did you get here so fast?" He asked breathlessly.
"Alice drives like a madwoman. I thought I was going to die. My life flashed before my eyes." Jace teased me. I hit his chest and turned to Ryder.
"Do you know where Cleo is?" I asked him curiously. If you don't remember, Cleo was my first friend when I got to this school. She is blonde and really quirky. Oh, Ryder and Cleo are dating.
"She said that her brother wanted to drive her. She should be here in this crowd somewhere." Ryder explained. Harley, Cleo, and I have become close in the past few months. That's actually how Cleo and Ryder began to date.
"Cleo!" Ryder called out when he saw my blonde friend. She looked over and smiled shyly. I'm really happy for Ryder and Cleo. I warned him that if he hurt her that I would chop off his balls and he has been doing really well. He stopped his player ways and both of them have been together for two months.
"Hi." She hugged him. Cleo was wearing a sea foam green dress that ended right above her knees. It had cute rhinestones around the top. Ryder hugged her back, picked her up, and twirled her around. Everything seemed right with the world at that moment. I had my best friends and my boyfriend by my side. Sadly, I knew that college was coming so it wouldn't last long.
"What's wrong? You look down." Jace whispered in my ear from behind me. I turned my head and looked at him.
"It just sucks that this moment can't last forever." I sighed. Alec took out his cigarettes and Harley took them from him.
"You can't smoke on school grounds you idiot! I am not letting you get kicked out of my graduation!" She yelled at him. I couldn't help but chuckle.
"We'll be fine. Ryder is going to college with Cleo an hour away so we can visit them. Alec and Harley are going on the road for a few years to travel and when they come back around, we can see them if you want." Jace slung his arm around me.
"All graduates, please make your way to the school gymnasium." A voice from the loud speaker announced. We all started walking towards the doors to get in. When we walked in, there were teachers trying to tell people where to sit.
"Where do you want to sit?" Jace asked me.
"We can't just sit anywhere, they're supposed to tell us where to sit." I scolded him.
"Do you see anyone listening to them?" He asked me rhetorically. I looked around and noticed that he was right.
"Oh, we should sit in the back." I told him. "I don't want to be around too many people. I hate people." I muttered the last part to myself.
"Me to babe." Jace laughed at my last comment. We all sat down in the uncomfortable chairs. I sat next to Cleo and Jace. Cleo sat next to Ryder, Ryder sat next to Alec, and Alec sat next to Harley.
"I'm so nervous." Cleo told me as she tapped her foot on the ground uncontrollably.
"Calm down, you'll do great." I smiled at her and she smiled back. She rested her head on Ryder's shoulder for comfort.
"Do you remember when we first met and you yelled at us about the loud music?" He asked me. I nodded, wondering where he was going with this. "I was so interested in you because you were different from all the other girls here. You weren't afraid to stand up to us." He explained.
"Where are you going with this?" I asked him.
"Doesn't that feel like so long ago?" He asked me.
"Yeah it kind of does." I agreed with Jace.
"It was less than a year ago. So much has happened since then..." Jace remarked.
"I'm glad I moved here." He kissed me quickly and the principal started calling names. We must have talked through his whole speech. I blocked out most of the names.
"Cleo Ambers. She is going to New Hampshire University." The principal called out. Cleo slowly stood up and walked to the front. I heard her say 'thank you' and grab her diploma. After a bit he called out another name that I knew. Mine.
"Alice Avery. She is going to Dartmouth University in the fall of next year." He announced and cheers were heard. I stood up and walked to the front. I'm am so glad that I wore Converse because all of the girls were slowly walking and they looked like they were on stilts while I just breezed to the front. I got my diploma from the principle and turned to walk away.
"Peace out losers!" I yelled and walked away before the principal could yell at me. I could have said something a lot worse but I couldn't get kicked out before Jace's name was called. When I sat back down Mr. Sneed glared at me but continued saying names.
"Alec Darcy." He called after a few more names. Alec walked up and after he got his diploma he turned to the microphone like I had.
"You know, I got suspended from school grounds for having cigarettes a lot," most people thought that he would say something inspiring about how he wish that he could've stayed away from cigarettes but I knew better. "I just have to say that... NO REGRETS!" He ran off the stage and people cheered. I laughed but clapped.
"Please refrain from talking after you receive your diploma." Principal Sneed spat. I couldn't help but chuckle at the principle. He was so much nicer the first time I met him, I guess I turn people into irritable assholes.
He called the rest of our names which included Harley Harper, Ryder Ryans, and Jace Payton. It was weird to see everyone get their diplomas.
"Whitney Winters." The principal called out. Oh I forgot about her, she's still a total bitch. In the last four months I have punched her three times and hit her with my skateboard once. My poor skateboard had to be repainted because her face chipped the paint. She walked up in her short red dress and took her diploma. She smiled to everyone and waved. This is not a Miss. America pageant Whitney.
"Whitney, please take your seat." The principal muttered with annoyance. She pouted but walked to her seat anyway. "That was the last of our graduates from this year. The only thing left to say is, congratulations graduates of 2016!" He yelled and everyone threw their caps into the air. I turned to Jace and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"How does it feel to be out of high school?" I asked him.
"I've never felt better." He smiled and kissed me on the lips.

So I guess this is the part where I'm supposed to say 'The End.' But I'm not traditional if you haven't been able to tell so I'll just say... Auf Wiedersehen! (Until we see again!) Yeah, I actually learned something in German class!
