Chapter 391:
âMiss Sanderson, rest easy. Weâll get everything ready for the rainforest by tonight. We wonât hold you back.â
Harlee nodded, stood up, and waved her hand as her three companions nonchalantly headed to the door. When Patrick saw Harlee getting ready to leave, he quickly said, âMiss Sanderson, you and your group are welcome to stay in this suite. Weâll look for another place.â
Patrick made this offer because the hotel was the nearest to the rainforest entrance and needed to be booked in advance, making same-day reservations almost impossible.
Harlee looked at him with incomprehensible, deep eyes.
âNo need. I have other matters to attend to.â
Patrick didnât ask her further and politely escorted her downstairs.
Outside, Tonya stretched out and lazily asked, âSo, where do we begin?â
Ritchie threw out a suggestion.
âWhat about we start by taking down the most corrupt city government in Uwhor?â
Robbie chimed in, âAnd why stop there? Letâs target city hall too.â
Tonya playfully hit each of them.
âGet real, you two. No more wild dreams,â she said, then turned to Harlee.
âWhatâs our first step for Matteoâs mission?â
Harlee narrowed her eyes.
âTonya, you and Ritchie stir up trouble within the Uwhor royal family to keep them busy. Robbie, your task is to locate the research facility in the rainforest and map out the best route to it.â

All three nodded.
âGot it.â They dispersed swiftly to start their missions.
Harlee ducked into an alley and pulled out a minicomputer disguised as a cell phone from a hidden spot. She began hacking into Uwhorâs national research instituteâs website, deploying a botnet. This was about a thirty-billion-dollar deal. Matteoâs sole directive was to break into the national research institute in Uwhor, retrieve the new drug research technology, and then destroy it.
However, Harlee found that idea lacking in excitement and added a condition to the order: to destroy the entire research facility. Officially, Harlee justified to Matteo that an institute that worked with him and yet helped his enemies didnât need to exist.
But the real reason was that she had uncovered the instituteâs secret development of biochemical weapons against her homeland. That was something she would never stand for.
The following morning at five, Harleeâs team showed up at the rainforest entry point, geared up in water-resistant, tough clothing. The rainforest was filled with danger at every turn.
Everyone, except for Harlee, showed different levels of fear in their eyes.
The rainforest at the far western edge of Uwhor was the largest tropical rainforest in the world and bore the title of âmost mysterious.â Those brave enough to enter had found hiding spots, and no one outside the internal organizations had ever uncovered their secret hideouts. To this point, only the Uwhor governmentâs laboratory and its national research institute had managed to set up permanent operations within its borders.
Matteo had dispatched numerous elite teams on several missions, but each one ended in failure, nearly costing him his trusted men. In the end, he abandoned the idea.
Although Patrick, Kendall, and Stanton had never stepped foot in the Uwhor rainforest, their extensive experience with danger made them well aware of the significant hazards. None of them expected to emerge without harm.
