Chapter 333:
The bystanders who had collected around started voicing their disgust at the scene.
âThis lady is something else.
Facing genuine concerns, she responded with bullying.â
âI recognize her. Sheâs that daughter the Sanderson family had recently reconnected with.â
âSo thatâs the Harlee everyoneâs been talking about. It figures sheâs so nasty. She absolutely deserved to be left!â
âWaitâ¦
Are you all blind? Canât you see how clearly the other woman is faking?â
But before the person could say more, the crowd immediately shut them down.
Watching Lindsay smirk triumphantly, Harlee raised an eyebrow.
âSo, was this your plan all along, stopping me here?â
Harlee found Lindsayâs tactics utterly disgraceful. Not even the weight of the entire internetâs scrutiny from days earlier could shake her. Surely, a few remarks wouldnât cause her any distress.
Harlee laughed off the demeaning comments without a care.
âHarlee, youâve really got it wrong. I was merely trying to give you a friendly reminder, nothing more!â Lindsay knew that tears often garnered sympathy, so she allowed her eyes to fill up again, adopting a frail and vulnerable look.
Harlee scoffed.

âIf thatâs true, then get out of my way!â
Caught off guard, Lindsay hesitated but quickly replied, âSorry, I didnât realize you disliked speaking with me so much. I wonât bother you again.â
Harlee walked right past Lindsay and Wade without another word and continued on her way.
Lindsay stood there, taken aback.
Her plan had been to corner Harlee near Rhysâ workplace, embarrass Harlee in front of onlookers, and then use their reactions to fuel online gossip about Harlee being spurned by the Green family.
After that, she intended to orchestrate events from behind the scenes to ensure Harlee was humiliated nationwide.
But Harlee was already walking away before any scandal could erupt. She couldnât let Harlee leave just like that! A flash of spite flickered in Lindsayâs eyes, quickly hidden. She approached Wade, took his arm tenderly, and wore a look of discomfort.
âWade, Iâm not feeling well. Iâll head home to rest. You carry on with your day.â
Wadeâs face filled with concern as he asked, âAre you sure youâre alright? Should I drive you to the hospital?â
âNo, itâs probably just discomfort from sleeping too long this afternoon. I can drive myself home.â
Wade remained worried but didnât press further.
He sighed softly and said, âOkay, just be careful driving home alone. Let me know if you feel worse.â
