Chapter 228:
âHave you wrapped up the issues?â
The banquet was still in full swing when Tonya had departed overseas to tackle assignments for the Shadow Moon Society. Upon reaching Harlee, Tonya playfully tweaked Harleeâs cheek, her grin wide and teasing.
âHandled them with ease! Iâm more than capable of managing such tasks.â
âSingle-handedly!â
Harlee responded with a subdued chuckle.
âThatâs fortunate because Iâve already planned your next mission.â
âSeriously? Already? Canât I catch a break?â Tonya whined, her eyes wide and pleading as if she might cry at any moment.
âYouâll be partnering with Ritchie.â
Tonyaâs demeanor brightened instantly.
âWhy didnât you start with that?â She linked arms with Harlee, her spirits lifted.
âAlright then. Time to whip my dear future hubby into shape!â
After the banquet, Willis was persistent, sticking by Harleeâs side until she agreed to give a lecture at Baythorn University.
As Harlee left the National Aerospace Agency, she stretched tiredly, her gaze slightly lowered, and walked out at a relaxed pace.
Harlee drew quite a bit of attention as she walked.

âHey, isnât that the daughter the Sanderson family recently found? Whatâs she doing at the National Aerospace Agency?â
âPerhaps Mr. Bates invited her. I heard he personally congratulated her at the banquet.â
âShe looks pretty aloof, like someone you wouldnât want to mess with.â
âShh. Sheâs looking this wayâ¦â
A while earlier, Harlee had pulled out her phone after leaving Willisâ office, planning to call Tonya.
However, her phone was dead. Not wanting to walk back, she decided to head to a café about five kilometers from the National Aerospace Agency to meet Tonya.
Just as Harlee stepped out of the agencyâs gates, someone called out to her, âHarlee?â
Harlee paused and looked back.
Collin rolled down his car window and gave her a wink.
Harlee frowned and said, âYouâre like a nuisance that just wonât go away.â Her disdain for Collin had reached its peak.
Noticing Harleeâs annoyance, Collin simply grinned.
âHarlee, why are you on foot? What happened to your car? Did it break down? Need a ride in my Maserati? I can take you to that restaurant we used to frequent!â
Upon hearing this, Harleeâs eyes narrowed, and her gaze turned cold.
