Chapter 228:

“Have you wrapped up the issues?”

The banquet was still in full swing when Tonya had departed overseas to tackle assignments for the Shadow Moon Society. Upon reaching Harlee, Tonya playfully tweaked Harlee’s cheek, her grin wide and teasing.

“Handled them with ease! I’m more than capable of managing such tasks.”

“Single-handedly!”

Harlee responded with a subdued chuckle.

“That’s fortunate because I’ve already planned your next mission.”

“Seriously? Already? Can’t I catch a break?” Tonya whined, her eyes wide and pleading as if she might cry at any moment.

“You’ll be partnering with Ritchie.”

Tonya’s demeanor brightened instantly.

“Why didn’t you start with that?” She linked arms with Harlee, her spirits lifted.

“Alright then. Time to whip my dear future hubby into shape!”

After the banquet, Willis was persistent, sticking by Harlee’s side until she agreed to give a lecture at Baythorn University.

As Harlee left the National Aerospace Agency, she stretched tiredly, her gaze slightly lowered, and walked out at a relaxed pace.

Harlee drew quite a bit of attention as she walked.

“Hey, isn’t that the daughter the Sanderson family recently found? What’s she doing at the National Aerospace Agency?”

“Perhaps Mr. Bates invited her. I heard he personally congratulated her at the banquet.”

“She looks pretty aloof, like someone you wouldn’t want to mess with.”

“Shh. She’s looking this way…”

A while earlier, Harlee had pulled out her phone after leaving Willis’ office, planning to call Tonya.

However, her phone was dead. Not wanting to walk back, she decided to head to a café about five kilometers from the National Aerospace Agency to meet Tonya.

Just as Harlee stepped out of the agency’s gates, someone called out to her, “Harlee?”

Harlee paused and looked back.

Collin rolled down his car window and gave her a wink.

Harlee frowned and said, “You’re like a nuisance that just won’t go away.” Her disdain for Collin had reached its peak.

Noticing Harlee’s annoyance, Collin simply grinned.

“Harlee, why are you on foot? What happened to your car? Did it break down? Need a ride in my Maserati? I can take you to that restaurant we used to frequent!”

Upon hearing this, Harlee’s eyes narrowed, and her gaze turned cold.
