Chapter 222:
âSo?â Rhys showed little interest in the gossip about the Sanderson familyâs daughter who had just returned, nor did he care about the scenes Angela had caused.
He glanced over the document before getting back to his work.
Had Rhys reviewed the document more attentively, his sharp mind might have linked Miss Sanderson with Harlee. What a missed opportunity.
Sometimes, destiny had its own plans.
For now, Rhys had yet to realize that Harlee was the daughter the Sanderson family had recently reconnected with.
Hamiltonâs brow furrowed.
He was eager to continue criticizing Angela, but Rhysâ focused expression made him hold back.
Flicking through the documents, Hamilton muttered inwardly, âAre all Sanderson women this incredible? Both Harlee and the daughter the Sanderson family just acknowledged are remarkable!â
Rhys suddenly asked, âHow has the step-in we found for Aaron been faring?â He was indifferent to the Sanderson family gathering.
His priority was getting back home.
Ever since Harlee transferred one billion dollars to him, she had not responded to his messages.

Hamilton responded, âIt should be stable in about three more days. The candidate we supported was too low-ranking before.â
âWeâll head back in three days,â Rhys said, his usually expressionless face now carrying a hint of eagerness, a subtle joy etching his brows.
Hamilton trembled slightly, wondering if this was what a love-struck Rhys looked like.
Meanwhile, in Baythorn, outside the Grand Oak Restaurant, Ritchie noticed Harlee pulling up and quickly walked over to meet her.
After Ritchie took a few steps, a man suddenly darted out from behind.
âHarlee! What a surprise to see you here! Donât you think itâs fate?â Collin called out.
Harlee acted as if she hadnât heard Collin, walking past with a blank expression.
Collin took a deep breath, stepped forward, and quickly blocked her path just as she was about to enter the restaurant. Yet, as soon as Collin raised his hand, Ritchie slapped it down.
Collin glared at Ritchie.
âWho are you? How dare you lay a hand on me! Do youâ¦â
Before Collin could finish, Ritchie slapped him across the face, silencing him.
âHarlee, do you want me to deal with him?â Ritchie asked.
Harlee glanced at Collin.
âHeâs not worth the effort.â
Instead of feeling discouraged, Collin smiled, following her like a shadow.
âHarlee, I knew you still loved me!â
