Chapter 45: ~44~ Mom Is Not A Murderer

"Jason stop pulling the blanket."

I groaned again as Justin was complaining again. "Just get another one," Dylan said. We were trying to watch a movie but Justin was being annoying. "But it's too far."

"It's literally right there," I said pointing behind him. "Oh," he said letting go of Jason's blanket and grabbing the next one. I rolled my eyes and tried to focus again on the movie. It was a thriller which I thought wouldn't be that scary, but I was wrong. There was a jump scare every now and then, and they were the scariest jump scares I had ever seen.

I jumped again as another jump scare popped up. I could feel Jacob chuckling at my fear. I looked up at him and glared. "Stop laughing," I said. "I'm not. I was just coughing," he said glancing at me then looking back up to the screen.

I scooted closer into Jacob as the movie arrived at its quiet part. Movies like these always get quiet before something bad happens. "Justin, can you hand me the chocolate?" Dylan asked. "It's so far though," he replied. I looked at the chocolate bar that was literally right in the front of him.

What has video gaming done to him? Dylan and Justin had a stare off. It seemed none of them were going for it since they were too busy protecting their feelings of pride. So I took it. I quickly opened it and took a large bite out of it right in their face.

"You should have just taken it," I said to Dylan who was glaring at me "Oh you are going to regret that," he said. I screamed as he lunged for me. I ran around the couch and down the hall. "It's just a chocolate bar Dylan! We literally have hundreds!" I screamed as Dylan was still chasing me.

He caught onto the back of my hoodie and flipped me over his shoulder. "Stop!" I screamed as he started running around the house. "Guys stop before you break something!" Jason shouted. I don't know if he was talking about the house or ourselves. "Give me the chocolate, Lisa," Dylan said still hanging me upside down.

I was starting to get lightheaded from the blood rushing to my head. "F-fine take your stupid chocolate bar," I said letting it drop to the floor. Dylan rests me on the ground and held my shoulder as I tried to steady my self.

"Things would have been much easier if you hadn't taken it," he said smirking at me. I rolled my eyes and glared at him. "Whatever," I said following him down the stairs. I was tempted to kick him down, but that wouldn't be very nice.

Oh well, that's the point. When he was on the second to last step I pushed him and ran to Jason for protection. I heard a thump and a yell. "Lisa!" he shouted. I laughed at the sound, it was very satisfying, but I knew I would have to pay for that later.

At this point, no one was really paying attention to the movie. Jason and Jacob were having some sort of pick up line contest, Justin was on his phone, and Dylan- well he was still on the floor.

I wondered if he had actually hurt something. Walking over to him, I was careful not to trip over the mounds of blankets and pillows on the floor. "Dylan?" I asked stopping over him. His eyes were closed and he wasn't moving.

"Dylan?" I dragged out. "Come on, this isn't even funny. I am sorry," I said shaking his unmoving figure. "Boo!"

I jumped so high in the air, I must have looked like a startled cat. Dylan was laughing hysterically and rolling on the ground. "Dylan! Why would you do that!?" I asked holding my chest. He scared me beyond compare.

"What do you mean why? You pushed me down the stairs," he said still laughing. "I pushed you on the last step. There wasn't going to be any serious damage," I said glaring at him. "Aww but you cared," he said in a baby voice.

"I only cared because Justin would start messing with me more," I said. He got up off the floor and ruffled my hair. "Yeah, whatever you say. You know you love me," he said walking into the living room.

For the rest of the night, we played games and messed around. I knew Jason and Jacob were trying to get our minds off of the whole thing, and it was a really good distraction. In the end, we all fell asleep downstairs under the mountains of sheets and pillows.

The green car kept following us down another couple of blocks. "What does this guy want?" someone asked next to me. I looked over at him to see Jacob, but something was off. He had all of Jacobs features, but he didn't quite speak like Jacob, and his stature was much different.

He turned to look at me and I screamed at the wound in his head. The weird guy popped out from the backseat and I screamed again. This time he looked like how I first saw him. Dirty and weird looking. "I told you not to trust him," he said lifting the gun higher and higher into the air.

I looked over at Jacobs figure to see it gone and replaced with the same guy. "DONT TRUST HIM."

I woke up in a cold sweat. I had another nightmare. I was surprised to know that it had to deal with the weird guy and not Mom or Dad as it would usually be. I looked around to see that it was only Justin and I.

I could hear someone talking on the phone and I barely heard the end of their conversation.

'Just please look into it. This guy is starting to imitate a stalker and I don't know if he is going to start breaking into our house-'

'I have already tried that. Can you please just do it?'

'Thank you.'

The phone call ended and I heard a sigh. "Did you speak with them?"

"Yeah, they said they would look into it."

"Good. I just want this all to end. "

"Me too. I don't know if Lisa, Justin, and Dylan are safe at that school. Who knows if that guy decides to do something."

"Yeah, your right. Which is why we need to figure this out quick. Whoever this person is, chose the wrong family to mess with."

I was interrupted out of my snooping session by a hand landing directly on my face. I pushed the hand off. Justin always slept so bad! I don't know how he got on this side of the floor anyway. I decided to get up and stop snooping. That never ended well for anybody.

I walked into the kitchen where I suspected everyone else was, but only saw Jacob and Jason. "Good morning," I said sitting at the island. "Morning sleepy head," Jason said ruffling my hair. "You look...nice," Jacob said holding back a laugh.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "What are you talking about?"

"Look in the mirror sweetheart," Jason said. I slowly got up and went to the bathroom mirror. Across my forehead, in big black letters, read. 'Baby'. I glared at the mirror. This was only Justin or Dylan. Or both!

I turned on the tap and started rubbing at my forehead to get the black ink off. It came off mostly, but was still very visible. "Why did you let them do this?" I asked Jacob storming out of the bathroom.

They both laughed at my angered expression. "This isn't funny. Its gonna be on my forehead all day long. I wont be able to go anywhere," I said. "Well, maybe thats a good thing. You can hang with us," Jason said.

I rolled my eyes. "I already do that enough. And its Sunday. I want to do something fun. Where is Dylan anyway?" I asked noticing the house was quite. "Dylan went to meet up with his girlfriend he wont let us meet," Jason said sipping on some more of his coffee.

I nodded, we still have yet to meet Eva.  "Yeah, I am starting to think she is imaginary," Jacob said leaning back in his chair. I shrugged. "Only time will tell," I said. "Speaking of time, what time is it?" I asked.

Jacob checked his wrist. "Its almost 1," he said. My eyes widened. I slept till noon? "Wait, you don't even have a watch on. Thats probably not right," I said looking at a smirking Jacob. "No, it is. You and Justin really slept in today," Jason said. Well, I guess thats what all of yesterdays events does to you.

I nodded. "Despite Dylan and Justin sleeping like literal animals, how did you sleep?" Jason asked. I immediately remembered the nightmare. "U-um okay, I guess," I said starting to play with the ends of my hair.

"Whats wrong?" Jacob asked looking at me. I sat next to him and rest my head on the counter. "I had another nightmare, but it wasn't the usual one. It had more to do with what happened yesterday," I said.

"I don't want to talk about it, though." They seemed like they were about to ask a million questions. "OK," Jason said slightly nodding. "Well, what do you want for lunch?" Jason asked standing up.

"Did someone mention food?" Justin walked into the kitchen yawning. "Ew, Justin I can smell your breath from here. Go brush your teeth," Jacob said. Justin glared at him but listened nonetheless. But before he left he looked at me and smirked.

"Just so you know, Justin, I am getting you back," I said glaring at him. "Yeah, sure, sure," he said going up the stairs. "Hes so aggravating, " I mumbled. I heard Jason and Jacob chuckle as I went up the stairs.

I should probably brush my teeth as well. "Whatever you make is fine, Jason," I shouted down the steps answering his previous question. I did my usual morning routine, and threw on a navy tank top and some black shorts. It was particular hot outside, not that I was going anywhere.

All thanks to Justin.

I managed to scrub almost all of it off in the shower, so now it was just a faint shadow on my forehead. By the time I got back Lunch was served and Dylan was also here. "Oh you're here already?" I asked sitting next to him by the counter.

"Yes, I came earlier so my baby sis wouldn't miss me too much," he said cracking up. "Thats not funny. I know it was your idea," I said folding my arms across my chest. "Are you assuming?" he asked.

"I know it was you, Dylan, and Justin. You guys are always teaming up on me," I said. "Boo hoo," he said ruffling my hair then heading upstairs. One day, I am going to get them back so hard, they will never try to prank me again.

A knock at the door brought me out of my thoughts. "Oh, thats Grayson," Dylan said running back down the stairs to the door. Sure enough, when Dylan opened the door, Grayson stood on the other side in a tank top and sweats.

"Wasup, fam," he said. I rolled my eyes. He couldn't miss just one day. "Great," I mumbled. "Dont be so rude to my best friend, Lisa," Dylan said. I scoffed at him. "Well, maybe your best friend shouldn't be such a douche."

"Ouch. You hit the heart every time, spicy," Grayson said. "Can you not call her that. Its weird," Justin said taking a bite out of his sandwich.

"Jason, can you make an extra sandwich for Grayson?" Dylan asked. "No, cause I am not your slave," he replied rolling his eyes. "Jay, do it for me," Grayson said giving Jason the puppy eyes. Jason stared at him, then turned around. "No."

"Make your own sandwich. You basically live here," he mumbled at the end walking up the stairs. "Unfortunately, its true," I said looking at him. Grayson leaned in and whispered to me. "You know what spicy? I think you love it when I come over. I think its the best part of your day," he said smirking.

Just was I was about to say something. He snatched my sandwich. "Thanks, you are so generous," he said taking a bite out of it and placing it back on my plate. "Hmm, delicious." He went upstairs after Dylan and Justin.

They most likely went to play some video game.  I stared at his retreating figure. He really had the guts to do that? Oh, who am I kidding. I'ts Grayson.  I was definitely not going to eat that anymore, so I threw it away. He just ruined my semi-good morning.

"Alright, Lisa. Dylan is going to be in-charge. Jacob and I have to deal with something," Jason said putting on his shoe. "Would that something have to do with the weird guy?" I asked already knowing what the answer was.

Jason smiled at me. "Yes. We may have gotten something to go on. We cant be sure until we get to the station," he said. I nodded. "Does it have to be Dylan though?" I asked referring to Dylan being in charge.

Thats the worst thing someone can do. "He is the only one available, Lisa. Trust me, if I could find someone else I would," he said.  Thats when I thought of something. "What about Dad?" I asked. Jason immediately stopped what he was doing.

I don't know why I asked either, but it seemed like a good opportunity. "No," he said. "I expected that, but maybe you should just think abou-"

"I said no, Lisa. He isn't going to watch you guys while I am gone," he said. He placed both of his hands on my shoulder. "Please don't ask me that again," he said looking me in the eye. I nodded. I understood why he was so adamant on not wanting Dad here.

He kissed my forehead, then rose to his full height. "Good. Now Jacob and I should be back in about an hour. Please try not to do anything Dylan would do," he said. "Alright. I cant promise anything though, these boys bring out the worst in me," I said.

He laughed and ruffled my hair. "Alright, see ya later. Jacob come on!"

They left, and it was just me, all over again. I looked around at the empty living room. I could hear the boys shouting at the game for whatever reason.

I sat on the couch and decided to just watch tv and play on my phone until Jason and Jacob got home. I pulled out my phone and started idly playing some games.

A loud pounding on the door made me drop my phone. I quickly picked it up to make sure it wasn't cracked. Thank goodness it wasn't, because Jason would not have gotten me another one for a very long time.

There was another set of pounding on the door. It sounded like whoever was on the other side was very adamant about getting inside.

I slowly walked to the door and looked through the peephole. I saw the last person I thought I would see. Sally was on the other side of the door. Her hair was drenched for whatever reason, her clothes were torn, and she had blood on her face.

I quickly opened the door and let her in just as she was about to start knocking again. "Sally! W-what happened?" I asked locking the door behind me.

"This is your fault!" she yelled at me. I was so shocked I didn't see when she lunged on me. We both landed on the floor and I screamed when I heard a sickening crack as my hand connected with the wood.

"My family is gone because of you!" she screamed slapping me across the face.  I heard loud footsteps come down the stairs and Sally was pulled off of me.

"What in the world is happening!?" Dylan shouted. Sally pointed to me with the most evil look in her eyes. I was still frozen on the floor in shock.

"This is her fault! I won't ever see my family again because of your mother!" Sally was about to jump on me again until Dylan held her back.

"Stop!" Grayson shouted to Sally. He came over to me and helped me up. Tears streamed down my face as I held my arm in pain. It was definitely broken. "You told. Even though I told you not to tell anyone, you told. And now, my family is dead," she said looking at me.

I looked at her in shock. I only told my brothers, and they said they would work on it under the radar. How could my Mom have possibly found out?

"S-sally I-"

"NO, don't say anything. You couldn't keep your big mouth shut, and because of you, my family is dead. I knew I shouldn't have told you," she said breaking down. Her last words cut to the heart.

My mom is a lot of things, but I don't see her as a murderer. There is no way, she escalated to being a murderer. Grayson rubbed up and down my arm as I was still processing everything she was saying.

Sally sunk to the floor in a sobbing mess. "They're gone, Lisa. They're gone and its all your fault," she kept repeating. Dylan helped her off of the floor. "Okay, thats enough! I'm going to call Jason. Justin can you help?" Dylan asked.

Justin nodded and helped Sally to the couch. "Are you okay?" Grayson asked. I was still trying to piece together what Sally just said. Her family is dead. How?

I shakily walked over to Sally and sat next to her. She looked so broken, so  torn, and to think that this was because of my mother. I was still having a hard time believing that though. Justin sat on the couch opposite Sally and I, and Grayson sat next to me. Dylan went on the phone to talk to Jason.

Sally explained everything and I just sat there the whole time, not knowing what to say. "They're gone. I'm never going to see them again," she said once she finished. "Okay, but this isn't Lisa's fault. She didn't kill your family," Grayson said softly.

Sally looked up at him. "Yes it is! And its partly mines too. I never should have told her," she said now directing her attention to me. "I never should have trusted you."
