"Lisa, sweetie, wake up. You have to eat dinner," I heard someone say. I groaned and flipped over covering my head with my blanket. The person didn't stop shaking me. 'What?" I groaned out keeping my head under the cover.
"Come on, you have to eat," the person said, taking the blanket off of my head. I blinked at the sudden brightness. They actually turned the lights on. When my eyes adjusted it came into contact with Jacobs.
"Couldn't you have just let me sleep?" I asked sitting up groggily. "Yeah, I could have, but you need to eat. We have pizza downstairs. Nobody felt like cooking." I nodded. My stomach growled and I felt my face heat up.
Jacob laughed. "See, your stomach agrees. Come on, let's go," he said picking me up. "I can walk fine on my own," I said laughing.
"Alright then," he said dropping me onto the floor. "Ow!," I said rubbing my butt. "Was that really necessary?" I asked glaring up at him. "You said you could walk on your own, so I let you," he said going down the stairs.
I scowled at his back and continued down the stairs after him. "Thank God! Jason would not let us eat until you got down," Justin said. "Probably because you would have eaten all like the pigs you are," I commented towards him and Dylan who were both eyeing the pizza.
It was one cheese, one meat lovers, and one BBQ chicken. All of them were large pizzas. "Geesh, were we going to have a party?" I asked taking my seat next to Jason.
"Oh please, this is nothing," Dylan said already grabbing three large slices. I grabbed a BBQ chicken slice and started eating that. I could tell Dylan was just itching to ask me about earlier today. There was really no way out of this.
Everyone finished all of the pizzas shortly leaving only about 3 slices. In the end, I only ended up getting 2. They were some huge slices. "You know you guys eat like literal beasts," I said watching as Justin finished his last slice.
"Or you eat like an Ant," Justin replied back. "No, I don't," I replied back. I always have to justify myself whenever I am around Justin. He just invigorates me sometimes. "Okay, how about this everyone eats equally," Jason said grinning. I rolled my eyes.
"That's doesn't work anymore Jason," I said. Whenever we were younger and Justin and I had a fight about which was better, Jason would always come in and tell us that both of our ideas were equally good, and oddly enough it would work.
"Well, it was worth a try, wasn't it?" He asked getting up and throwing away all of the paper plates. Not really, I thought to myself. I didn't see how they were able to fit that much food into their bodies anyway.
After 2 slices I was stuffed. Justin had at least 4. Yet it seems it doesn't go anywhere after they ate it. It like it goes into some black hole. Meanwhile, I would probably gain about 10 pounds.
Everyone stayed at the table when Jason came back. A toddler would know what was expected. I sighed. It seemed we were always having these types of conversation at the kitchen table. "Can we go to the living room?" I asked already getting up. I sat in the middle of the couch. Dylan and Jacob sat on either side of me while Jason and Justin sat on the other couch.
Of course, it had to be all of them at one time huh?
"Wel-"
"Was it a boy?" Dylan asked next to me. I mentally rolled my eyes. Who was the one interrupting now? "No, it wasn't. Long story short Sally told me the real reason why she suddenly stopped being friends with me," I said looking down. I felt Dylan tense up at the mention of her.
I suddenly remembered something again and mentally cursed myself for not remembering before I opened my mouth. I couldn't tell them. I couldn't tell them the real reason. Justin must have noticed because he quirked up.
"What was it?" Jason asked. I kept looking down playing with my hair as I tried to think of an excuse. If I told them, they would get too involve and that would not end well for Sally. "Lisa?" Dylan waved a hand in my face snapping me back into reality.
"U-um, it was, um- it was just something stupid, and I got all worked up over it," I said letting out a nervous laugh. I risked a glance at Justin to see him staring at me. He knew I didn't want to tell them, yet it looked like he did.
I could see Jason giving me the truth stare. We call it that because, no matter who he is looking at, if they are lying, they will eventually tell the truth right then and there. IÂ might have said it before, but he was like a human lie detector. I tried to avoid all eye contact with him for the time being.
Jacob nodded next to me. "That was it?" he asked making sure I didn't leave anything out. I nodded stiffly knowing that I left out a pretty significant part of the story. "Must have been pretty serious if it led you to have a panic attack," Dylan said.
"Yeah, it was," I mumbled, remembering some of the things Sally told me.
Jacob nodded once again and slung an arm around my shoulder. "You would tell us if it was something important, right?" he asked. I gulped nervously and nodded. I couldn't make any eye contact with any of them.
"Lisa, look at me," Jason said. Dang it! He knew. Of course, he would know. There was no way out of this one. I felt the tears threaten to spill. Jason lifted my chin up with his finger. I didn't even see when he came in front of me. If I told right now, that would be it. "What did Sally tell you?" he asked now looking me in the eyes. I couldn't bring myself to lie to his face.
Was it really doing any good if I didn't tell them? Maybe they could help. I sighed. I knew I couldn't do anything to help Sally on my own. That wouldn't be the smartest thing to do. So I told them. I told them everything.
Everyone except Justin had a shocked expression, to say the least. Dylan leaned back and folded his arms over his chest. "Why weren't you going to tell us?" he asked, with a sort of angry expression.
"Because she told me not to tell anyone. If I did, her entire family could get hurt," I said trying not to let the tears fall.
Jason ran a hand through his hair. "Okay, Jacob and I will get to the bottom of this. I don't want any of you intervening. We will do it on the DL, that way nobody finds out," he said. That made me feel the slightest bit better.
"So now we move on to the part where you explain to us what you were going to do," Jason said with a knowing look. Curse him! He knew me too well. "I know that small little head of yours was cooking up an idea. Am I right?" he asked. I nodded not even bothering to look up at them.
I knew Jason would be disappointed. "Lisa, we don't blame you for wanting to protect your friend, but getting yourself hurt in the process would not have done anything," Jacob said rubbing my shoulder.
"If anything it would have made the problem worse," he continued. He had an excellent point. In the end, I was glad I told them. I wouldn't have to worry about all of that guilt. I had enough of that with the entire Liam situation.
"Now please, next time something like this happens, don't hesitate in telling us," Jason said looking at me. I nodded again. "I will tell you guys," I said and this time I meant it.

After the small meeting with my brothers, Justin pulled me aside and surprised me by hugging me. "I am glad you told them because I didn't want to have to be that person," he said pulling from the hug.
I gave him a quizzical look. "I mean, I didn't want to be the one to have to tell Jason," he said. I nodded in understanding. "I am glad I told them too," I said. "And besides no one gets hurt," he said smiling down at me.
"Yeah, except Sally," I mumbled. Justin rests a hand on my shoulder. "I am sure Jason and Jacob can get to the bottom of it, without harming Sally's family," he said. "Yeah, I hope," I replied. "They are officers and officers in training after all," he said with a light chuckle.
I joined him in his attempt to lighten the mood.
"What's up fam," someone said barging into the house. I immediately knew it was Grayson and rolled my eyes. He brought down my mood instantly. "Hey Gray," Jacob said ruffling his hair. "Sup bro," Grayson said dodging him. He and Jason did some sort of bro hug then he ran up the stairs.
I tried to get into my room before he could make some sort of remark but he beat me to it. "Spicy! How are you this fine evening?" he asked in a terrible British accent. I rolled my eyes. "Shouldn't you be home getting ready for bed? There is school tomorrow," I said crossing my arms.
"Haven't you heard princess? I am sleeping over," he said putting extra emphasis on sleeping over. I cringed and he winked at me. "Don't worry, I am always open for you if you know what I mean," he said wiggling his eyebrows.
I fake gagged. "Would you go away already?" I asked already turning around to go into my room. "Playing hard to get, I see," he said. Dylan walked out of his room thank goodness. He grabbed Grayson by the ear and started dragging him to his room.
"What did I tell you about the way you talk to my sister," he said in his ear, but it was loud enough for me to hear.
"Ow! Ow! Stop being so aggressive," he exclaimed trying to get Dylan's hand off of his ear. They disappeared into Dylan's room and I went into mine.
I collapsed onto my bed not really wanting to go to school tomorrow. My phone pinged with a text message. I checked to see it was from Liam. A small smile made its way onto my face, as I read the message.
'Meet me at our special place tmr after school,' it read. I immediately replied.
'k mystery boy. what do u have planned?' He replied almost immediately.
'Its a surprise.'
'Can u please just tell me?'
'No can do, blue,'
Of course, it had to be a surprise. I decided not to answer and to just wait until tomorrow. I put my phone down, but I wasn't very tired. I did have a very long nap earlier. I went to the one person who could put me to sleep in minutes.
Jacob and Jason were both in Jacobs room. They were both on their phones and talking to each other. "Wasup sis?" Jacob asked looking up from his phone. "I'm bored, and I want to go to sleep to wake up early for tomorrow, but I am not tired," I said already making myself comfortable on his bed.
"You have terrible toe jam!" Jason exclaimed smelling my feet. I stuffed them in his face some more, just because he said that. "My feet smell wonderful," I said fighting his hands with my feet. Jason suddenly grabbed both of my feet and started tickling them.
I screamed and laughed as Jacob held me down, while Jason continued to torture my foot. After about 3 minutes Jason stopped as I was starting to get out of breath.
"Admit it Lisa, and the torture will end," he said giving me an evil smirk. I kept quiet still trying to catch my breath. Jason raised an eyebrow ready to attack again when I gave in. "Fine, I have toe jam," I said not wanting another round of the tickle torture.
"I think she is missing something..." Jacob trailed off. I rolled my eyes. "Fine, I have terrible toe jam," I said. He smirked feeling accomplished with himself. Once Jason put my feet down, I immediately hid them under the covers. "You guys are jerks," I mumbled.
"Aww lighten up. We could have gone longer," Jason said going back onto his phone. I laid next to Jacob and watched him on his phone.
He started drawing patterns on my shoulder. My eyes began to drop as I started to get tired. I thought of tomorrow, and how things might be between Sally and me.
I really hoped it would not be awkward. I also thought of the explaining I would have to give my new friends about her.
Surely they would be confused. I haven't been speaking very nicely about her.
"Well, I am going to sleep night owl, Lisa, try to get some rest, " Jason said kissing my forehead.
"Night, " Jacob said to Jason. He said it back then left. I was too lazy to get up and go to my own bed so I decided to sleep with Jacob.
"Jacob, can I stay in your bed tonight?" I asked sleepily. I can feel myself at the edge of sleep.
"Of course you can. Just don't push me off this time, " he said smiling down at me. I gave the best glare I could give him in my current state which only made him laugh.
Jacob tucked me under his blanket then left. He came back and took off his shirt and slid in next to me. He was always so warm. Like a human oven.
He wrapped his arms around me and we both fell asleep.
~Overprotective~
"What time is it!? It's time for school! What time is it!? It's time for school."
Someone was repeatedly banging two pans against each other, making as much noise as possible. I groaned into the pillow as the noise got louder and louder.
"Wake up sleepy heads!" the voice said again. I recognized it to be Jasons. What on earth is his problem?
Jason slammed open Jacobs room door and started banging the pans again. "Wake up! Its time for school," he said. I groaned and hid my face in the pillows. "I don't want to go to school," I groaned into the pillow.
"Well, that sucks," he said pulling the covers off of Jacob and I. I cuddled up to Jacob for warmth, but Jason lifted me up, and carried me to the bathroom. "Wash up," he said setting me on the bathroom floor.
I glared at the ground as I stomped over to the sink to brush my teeth. Who even wakes people up like that? I did my usual morning routine, throwing on a long sleeve shirt and skinny jeans. I was going to dress half decent today.
I walked downstairs to see Jason dish out a nice plate of pancakes and eggs for breakfast. "Are you trying to make up for earlier?" I asked taking a seat. Nobody else was down here yet. "I hope you accept my most sincere apology," he said adding two more bacon slices to my plate.
He gave me a grin, and I couldn't help but forgive him. I mean food is the key to my heart. I finished my food before any of the other boys came down. I am guessing Jacob stayed in bed. He is lucky he gets to sleep in.
Dylan, Grayson, and Justin soon trudged down looking not so happy. I rolled my eyes at Grayson as he winked at me. I forgot he was staying here. "Why did you have to wake us up like that?" Dylan asked glaring at Jason. "I was just in the mood to. Now eat, before its time to go," Jason said giving them their plate of food.
They grudgingly ate their food and was a little happier at the end. We all got our backpacks and went into Dylan's car. The drive was fairly quiet, except for the occasional chatter between Grayson and Dylan.
When we arrived everyone stayed in the car and Dylan locked the door. "Um, are we going to learn our lessons from here or..." I trailed off. Dylan turned around to meet my eyes.
"We're leaving, but just make sure to tell one of us if anything to happens today," he said. Justin and Grayson nodded in agreement. "And yes, Grayson already knows." I mentally rolled my eyes. Of course, Grayson knew.
Grayson would know if I had a boyfriend before I did. With that, we all got out of the car and went our separate ways. I caught up with Anna and everyone else. I didn't see Sally yet though. I would be sure to see her at lunchtime.
The bell rang and we all went to our first hour.
