Chapter 39: ~38~ Stalker

OverprotectiveWords: 17217

I looked at Jason then back at Justin. He gestured for one of us to speak. "So is one of you going to talk or am I going to have to tell you?" he asked.

" It was Justin's fault, " I said snitching on him right away. "Okay, I am sorry. It wasn't even my fault, it was Justin's fault. He kept being rude to the teacher and caused us both to get a detention."

"I believe you."

"What!?" Justin exclaimed. "You think I don't know you, Justin? Although I expected you to last at least one more day." Jason said shaking his head in disapproval.

"It wasn't my fault the teacher was being a class A d-"

"Don't finish that sentence, " Jason interrupted him. Justin grumbled whatever and went back to the living room. "Oh, and you're grounded, " Jason shouted with a slight smirk on his face.

Sometimes, I think he just likes holding all of this power and authority. "And as for you, please don't let it happen again, " he said. I nodded, happy that I got away with only a warning.

Jason started something on the stove and I sat at the island watching him. "So are you gonna tell me about her, or am I going to have to ask?" I said leaning my head against my elbows.

"Well, you just did, " he said. I rolled my eyes at him.  "You know what I meant, " I said. "I know sweetheart. I am just kidding."

He turned around to look at me and I gave him the gesture to go on. "Okay, okay. So remember when I told you I was talking to someone a few weeks ago?" he asked.

I briefly racked my brain, until I remembered what he was talking about. "Oh yeah. The one you said you were just talking to?" He nodded. "Well, over the weeks we started to talk some more. She seemed like a really nice person so I decided to take it to the next step. I wanted to make sure she was trustworthy before I brought her to the house, " he explained all the while chopping up some herbs for the food.

"Okay, I get it. You wanted us to like her?" I asked. "Yes. Most importantly, I wanted you to like her. It would have been very hard to date someone at all if they didn't like my little sister, " he said.

I nodded. It seemed all of my brothers were getting girlfriends. I had yet to meet Dylans and for all I know Jacob could be talking to someone as well.

I guess I was just a little worried about them replacing me. When I didn't say anything, Jason glanced at me.  "You have nothing to worry about Lisa, " he said holding both of my hands.

"If anything, it's them who has something to worry about. They have some high standards to meet, " he said. I chuckled a little at that. It was true. If you couldn't survive at least Justin's attitude or Dylan's remarks, then you had no business being here.

"Now what do you want to eat?" he asked returning to the food. "Whatever you're making, " I said watching him work his magic on the stove. I just watched him until I remembered something.

"Did you ever get any fingerprint off of the envelope form this morning?" I asked. He shook his head disappointedly. "Unfortunately no. Nothing came up. If it does persist I am gonna have to do something else about it. "

I nodded although he couldn't see me. "It's so weird. Why would anyone continuously give out fake letters?" I asked myself but Jason heard.

"I have no idea, " he said. I looked out of the window in thought. I thought about all of the different possibilities as to why someone would do that, but I came up blank. It just didn't make any sense to me.

"But until we figure out who is doing this, you and Justin probably shouldn't go anywhere alone, " he said now facing me. I nodded. I wouldn't want to either. Things were starting to get really weird.

I thought back to in school and how Sally's attitude towards me just switched.

I played with the note in my pocket that I got from her. I was really contemplating whether I should read it or not. I don't know if I wanted to see what she has to say. After all of this time, I finally just erased her existence from my brain and now she was doing this.

I decided since I am not doing anything, I should read the note now. I took it out and started to read it.

I am really sorry for the way I acted towards you. I have just been going through a lot, things I cannot tell you about. I really hope you can take my apology into consideration and just talk to me tomorrow at school.

I stared at the note, rereading it at least 3 times. This was her way of an apology? I almost wanted to laugh out loud. I guess it was partly my fault for not giving her a chance but still.

What's the point of even apologizing if she wasn't going to tell me what the reason was? I suddenly felt the paper being snatched out of my hand. I looked up to see the culprit was Justin.

"Hey! What are you doing?" I asked, chasing after him. "I want to know what you are reading. I am bored. " he said lifting the note way out of my reach.

"Justin, that's personal. Jason, tell him to give it back, " I said turning to Jason who was still working on the stove. "Justin, please give it back, " Jason said adding some more seasoning into the pan.

"Who wrote this?" Justin asked still holding the note above my head. "None of your business, now give it back. "

"What are they apologizing for?" he asked completely ignoring my attempt to grab the note from him.  Curse his tall frame and my short one. It's times like this that I wish I was 8ft tall, just so I can step on him.

"If I tell you, will you give it back?" I asked trying to negotiate. "Sure, " he said keeping the note high in the air. I looked at him, then at the note again. If I am fast enough, I can jump and take it from him, but he is probably faster.

I gave up on that idea realizing the odds were not in my favor. "Fine, it's about Sally. She wanted to apologize, " I said sitting on the couch. Justin sat next to me. "Are you going to forgive her?" he asked looking at me. I shrugged. Unless she came up with some bomb reason for why she did what she did, then I wasn't sure if I wanted to forgive her.

He nodded then gave me the note. "That's all I wanted to know, " he said heading back up the stairs. I rolled my eyes at his annoyingness. I swear he just wanted to be nosy. He is probably going to go back on to his videogames.

I stuffed the note back into my pocket, not wanting to think about it anymore. I wondered when Dad would come back. I am not sure what the boy's reaction was since they didn't give away a lot. They kind of hide their emotions when it comes to serious personal things.

Now I was bored. Just as I was about to go upstairs to bother Dylan I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye. It was quick, so quick that I thought I was seeing things.  I waited for another second to see if I would see it again. When I didn't, I dismissed it and continued up to Dylan's room.

When I walked in, Grayson and he were both on their phones. Dylan was smiling at his phone, probably texting Eva. Meanwhile, Grayson just looked agitated. "What are you guys doing?" I asked plopping onto Dylan bed but was pushed off a second later.

"Ow!" I said rubbing my elbow while glaring at a laughing Dylan. "What did you do that for?" I asked remaining on the floor. I was too lazy to get up. "None of your business, now go play with your barbies or something, " Dylan said going back in his phone.

I scoffed at him. "You know I don't have barbies, " I said with my cheeks heating up a bit. "I stopped playing with them, like forever ago." "You mean like 1 year ago?" he said laughing.  My cheeks heated up more as Grayson started to laugh too. Why did I even come in here?

"With as much attitude as you have, you still played with barbies?" Grayson said in between laughs. I glared at both of them, which only made them laugh harder. "I honestly don't even see what was so funny, " I said crossing my arms over my chest. I would like to step on them too.

"You probably still play with legos, " I said to Grayson. "Actually no, I don't. I stopped when I was 12," he said smirking. I wanted to wipe that smirk off with some bleach. I decided to get them back a little seeing as though they totally deserve it.

"Whatever, I will just go and play barbies with my boyfriend, " I said smirking at them. This wiped the smile off of both of their faces. "Yeah, your virtual boyfriend, " Dylan said after a moment of silence. I shook my head. "No, I mean this boy that I met today at school," I said. Dylan burst out laughing. "Come on Lisa, you literally look like your 5 years old. Who would ask you out?" he said in between laughs.

"And how is he your boyfriend after one day?" Grayson asked.

I rolled my eyes. "Okay, that was just rude, and I definitely do have one. "

"You're kidding us right?" Grayson asked looking at me. I shrugged my shoulders. "No, he even said that I am his favorite person in the world. And I love him, " I said trying really hard to suppress a laugh.  The smile was wiped right off of Dylans face.

He nearly choked on air. "Y-you l-l-o do you know what you're saying? Lisa, I swear to God this better be another stupid joke, " he said. "Well? What's his name? Don't make me ask twice, " Grayson said setting his phone down.

They both looked like they were going somewhere. Most likely to look for my 'Boyfriend'. I rolled my eyes. "Calm down guys, I am only kidding, " I said. I saw Grayson and Dylan visibly relax. "We aren't going to play barbies, we are going to his friend's house, " I said nearing the door just in case I needed to run.

"ANALISA, " Dylan shouted. "IM KIDDING, I'm kidding, " I said putting my hands up in surrender. "You better be kidding, " Grayson mumbled. I was about to leave but had to ask Dylan something.

"I thought you said you wouldnt care if I dated, " I said. Dylan rolled his eyes. "Of course I would care if you date. You're too young to date, " he said once again going back on his phone. I rolled my eyes at the hypocrisy. I'm pretty sure they started dating when they were 13.

I left the room and went into mine. I checked my phone and went through all of the social media to see if I missed anything important. I see I had a text from Liam.

We need to talk

I scrunched my eyebrows. What could we possibly have to talk about? I racked my brain trying to think of anything but came up blank. I decide to text him back.

When?

I sent it and turned the phone off. Now I was a little nervous. I know we had only just started talking, but I was really starting to like him and I didn't want that to be over so soon.

I just had too many thoughts swirling around my head I could think straight. I went downstairs. I was going to go for a little walk to clear my mind. I find that it always helps.

I went into the kitchen to find Jason still cooking. It was starting to smell really good though and I felt my stomach growl at the thought of delicious food.

"Jason, I am going on a walk. " I said putting on my tennis shoes. "Okay, go with Jacob, or Dylan, " he said. I nodded and went back upstairs. I didn't even know Jacob was home. I hadn't seen him all day.

I knocked on his room door and opened it when I heard a come in. I smiled when I saw Jacob sitting at his desk working on something.

"Hey Jacob, " I said giving him a hug and a kiss. He kissed my forehead back. "Hey, sweetie. How was school?" he asked turning his attention to me. I shrugged. I don't think he knew about me getting a detention, and I wasn't about to broadcast it.

"Fine, I guess, " I said.

"Is someone causing you trouble?" he asked giving me a serious look. Besides Sally? I thought to myself. "No, it's just, I don't like school in general, " I said sitting on his bed. "Oh, I know the feeling, " he said chuckling a little.

"Aren't I glad I am not in school anymore, " he said smirking at me. I rolled my eyes at him. "Don't you do some sort of schooling for that police academy thing?" I asked. "Cause I am positive you don't just become a police officer just like that, " I continued.

"Okay, okay smart one, " he said putting his hands up in surrender. "What I meant to say is that I am glad I don't go to high school, " he said.

"Anymore, " I added for him smiling innocently. "Yeah, yeah, " he said ruffling my hair. I glared at him while fixing it. "Ooh, have you met Jason's girlfriend?" I asked remembering I didn't see him when she was here.

He nodded. "Yeah. She is really nice. And really pretty, " he said winking at me. I gasped and slapped his arm. "That's your brother's girlfriend!" I said.

"I know, I am only kidding, " he said laughing.

"Anyway, can you come and walk with me? I need to clear my head. " I said standing up. "Everything alright?" he asked with a tint of concern. I nodded. "Yeah, just have a lot going on in my head right now. "

"Okay. Give me a second, " he said standing up. He threw on his sweatshirt and got his phone. "Get your inhaler, " he said while slipping on some slides. I went into my room and got it out of my book bag.

I only had to use it once in the past 3 days so that was really good. I usually get them more often. Usually, not severe just small one here and there. I put it in my sweatshirt pocket and waited by the door for Jacob.

"Where are you going?" Justin asked from the living room couch. "I'm going on a walk with Jacob, and no you can not come, " I said already knowing where this conversation was headed.

"I didn't want to anyway, " he mumbled. I laughed knowing that was the exact opposite. Jacob came down and we left. It was a little chilly outside, but not too much. "So little sis, you know you haven't told me about how school is going. "

"I just told you when we were upstairs, " I said giving him a confused look. "I know, you didn't really go into detail, " he said. "Well there isn't much to talk about, its only Tuesday, " I said trying to avoid all of the lines on the sidewalk.

"Alright, then I will ask you next week, " he said. I playfully rolled my eyes. "It's probably going to be the same as now, " I chuckled.

"Yeah, you don't have many friends so that's probably true, " he said. I slapped his arm. "Jacob, I will have you know, I have many friends, " I said glaring up at him. I had to squint to look since the sun was directly in my eyes.  "Yeah okay shorty, " he said laughing.

"I am not short. You are just really tall, " I said. "No, you are just really short. How tall are you now? 3 ft?" he asked playfully. He knew full on I was not 3ft. I decided not to answer that. "And what are you? 10ft? You're like a giraffe, " I said. "I am actually 6'2 but I must look like one to you, " he said smirking at me.

I rolled my eyes. Whatever chance my brothers get, they always make it known to me how short I am. Like I already know, you don't have to tell me.

We continued walking down the sidewalk when we bumped into this man while turning a corner. He was a very weird looking guy. Although he did look very familiar. "My bad dude, " Jacob said wrapping his arms around me and stepping aside from the guy.

But when we did, he stepped to the side too. I glanced up to see the guy looking right at me. I felt Jacobs hold tighten on me. Jacob gave him a weird look. Thinking he did it by accident we stepped to the other side, but the guy did the same.

He never once took his eyes off of me. I was starting to get really creeped out. "Dude, is there a problem?" Jacob asked, but the guy didn't answer him. We sidestepped again, but the same thing happened. Jacob pulled me closer to him and started backing up.

"Don't trust him. Don't trust him, " the guy said finally taking his eyes off of me. He looked up at Jacob with this weird look in his eyes. It was the same eyes I saw at the movies. No wonder he looked so familiar. He had the same bald head, tall and lanky frame. He said the same thing too.

"Don't trust him." That was the last thing he said before he turned around and went back the way he came. "You good?" Jacob asked still looking in the direction of the weird man. How had he found where we lived? Who was he? Jacob turned to face me when I didn't say anything.

"Lisa, are you alright?" he asked again. I nodded, swallowing to parch my dried mouth. "Come on let's go home before he decides to come back, " he said. We turned around and began walking back home.

"That was weird, " he mumbled. "I saw him before, " I said. "What!? Where?"

"When we went to the movies. Jason and Dylan know. It was when I went to get more popcorn." Jacob nodded. "I didn't think he lived around here though, " I said scratching my head. "Well, I don't think it needs to be said aloud that he has some problems, " Jacob said looking back. He must have thought the guy was coming back after us.

"Who was the he, he was talking about?" I asked out loud. "I have no idea, " he replied back. But when I looked up at him, he had a certain look on his face. A look that told me he knew exactly who he was talking about.
