Clad in a maroon color gharara, Zahra was giving an elegant and classy look. A small silver pendant was adorned on her slender neck. She pairs them with diamond studs. Her makeup was minimal but her lips were painted in the shade of maroon. She was looking flawlessly beautiful. After all, it's her best friend's wedding.

"Tum bohot acchi lag rahi ho," Zahra smiled at her friend as she fixed her maang tika.

(You are looking so beautiful)

"Yaar, ammi ne saara mood kharaab kar diya. Aisa kon karta hai. Matlab hadd hoti hai yaar. Hamne itna kuch socha that hamari shaadi ke liye. Men and women have different sections in my wedding. It means that I won't be able to sit beside Aahil," Madiha pouted as she complained to her best friend.

(Man, mom just destroyed my whole mood. Who can do this? I am so done with these things. I have so many things planned for the marriage)

Zahra bit her lips to suppress the chuckle which was forming on her lips.

"Yaar, I will miss you. Matlab, tumhari fuzool baatein sune begair hamara din kaise guzrega," Zahra whined and wrapped her arms around her friend's shoulder.

(Means, how can I live without hearing your rubbish talk)

"Aww, meri Jaan. I will miss you too. Par itna bhi miss nahi karungi mai tumhe. Ham bataa rahe hai tumhe ke koi zaroorat nahi hai hame call karne ki. Ek hafte tak tum mujhe apni shakal tak mat dikhana. I will spend some quality time with my husband. Then after few weeks, I will give you good news," Madiha bubbled up in excitement, and Zahra's eyes widen.

(But I don't want you to miss me so much. You don't have to call me even if you miss me. You don't need to show me your face for at least a week)

"Bohot besharam ho tum. Abhi shaadi nahi hui tumhari, aur sab kuch plan hai.

Bechare Aahil Bhai itne shareef hai. Unke liye hame waqaye bura lag raha hai," Zahra teased.

(You are so shameless. You still aren't married and you planned out everything. Aahil is so innocent. I am feeling so bad for him)

"Wo hi mare jaa rahe the hamse shaadi karne ke liye. Aaj tak itni khoobsurat ladki nahi dekhi thi na," Madiha flipped her hair proudly.

(He was dying to marry me. He had never seen such a beautiful girl)

Their conversation was disturbed by the knock on the door. A man in his early thirties entered the room and looked at them with hesitation.

"Aap dono mai se Zahra kon hai? Aapko Amira aapa bula rahi hai," He awkwardly said rubbing the side of his neck.

(Who's Zahra here? Amira is calling her)

"Yahi hai hamari Zaher," Madiha chuckled and she shoots her a glare.

(She is my zaher)

"Aap jaaye. Ham aa rahe hai," Zahra awkwardly said and he nodded his head.

(You can go. I will be coming soon)

As soon as he left, Zahra turned towards her friend.

"Tum nahi sudhrogi na," Zahra said in a displeased tone.

(You won't ever behave properly)

"Kabhi nahi," Madiha chuckled.

(Never)

"Waise banda kaafi handsome hai. Hamne aaj se pehle inhe kahi nahi dekha," Madiha said with a dreamy sigh making her eyes widen.

(He is so handsome. I have never seen him before)

"Bohot besharam ho tum. Zara khauf karo. Abhi tumhara nikah hua hai," Zahra said as she recovered from the shock.

(You are so shameless. Your Nikah just happened)

"Aisa lagna bhi tou chahiye na ke hamara nikah hua hai. Mere shohar se tou mera deedar hua hi nahi. Tumhe pata hai ke hamari itni khwaish thi. Ham dono nikah ke waqt saath baithenge. Nikah ke baad wo bohot pyaar se hamara ghunghat uthayenge. Phir wo hame forehead kiss denge. Apne haathon se hame gajra pahnayenge. Unki ammi ne tou hamare armaano par paani pher diya. Ham kabhi unhe maaf nahi karenge," Madiha pouted as she crossed her arms over her chest.

(I should have felt that it's my Nikah. I didn't even see my husband yet. You know I had so many desires for my wedding day. I thought that we will sit together. He will lift my veil after the nikah. Then he will give me a forehead kiss. He will make me wear gajra. His mother destroyed my whole wish. I will never forgive her)

"Haww. Ye tou sahi mai tumhare saath bohot galat hua. Itni nainsaafi," Zahra said in a serious tone and later burst into laughter.

(They did so wrong with you. It's injustice)

"Hamne thodi kuch zyada ki khwaish ki thi. Ham bass yahi chahte hai ke hamara shohar Asfandyar jaisa ho," Madiha said with a dreamy sigh.

(I didn't wish for big things. I just wanted a husband like Asfandyar)

"Uske liye aapko Inaya banna padega. Itni shareef tou aap hai nahi. Tou behtar hoga ke aap apne Alam ko bhul jaaye. Aur Aahil ke baare mai soche," Zahra said in a sarcastic tone and she let out a grumbling sigh.

(You have to become Inaya then. But you are not so innocent. It will be better if you will forgive Alam. And think about Aahil)

The whole haveli was decorated giving the royal and elegant look. Their haveli was big enough to arrange the wedding as it was Madiha's choice. She wants to get rukhsat from the place she grew up.

Zahra was moving here and there taking care of everything. She let out a sigh and carried her gharara. She laid her head on the couch and drank the glass of water.

She heard a soft chuckle and a smile broke on her face seeing the adorable baby looking at her with his big doe eyes. He was approx 3 years old.

"Aww. Aap kitne cute hai," Zahra said and took the baby in her arms.

(You are so cute)

"Aapka naam kya hai?" Zahra asked.

(What is your name?)

"Ahmed," He slowly said as he gives her a dimpled smile.

"Aapke saath kon aaya hai?" Zahra asked.

(Who's here with you?)

"Meer mamu," Ahmed chirped.

(Meer uncle)

"Aapke mamu ek number ke paagal hai. Wo aapko akele kaise chodd sakte hai," Zahra said as he wounded his arms around her.

(He is such a mad person)

"Aise logon ko baccho ko sambhalne ki zimmedari nahi deni chahiye. Laparwah log," Zahra said in a displeased tone.

(One shouldn't let such people take the responsibility of a kid. Careless people)

Zahra realized that Ahmed was not in her arms anymore. He was running towards certain someone chanting the word mamu.

She facepalmed herself and tried to escape from there without anyone noticing. Zahra stopped when she heard something.

"Meer mamu pagal," Ahmed chuckled as he put his tiny palm over his mouth.

(My uncle is mad)

"Kon sikha rahe hai yeh sab tumko?" Zameer asked as his deep voice reverberated causing shivers to ran down her spine.

(Who is teaching you such things)

Ahmed's lips were pursued into the pout as she points at her retreating figure.

"Excuse me, aapne mujhe mere bhatije ke saamne pagal kaha. Main jaan sakta hoon ke aap konse haq se mere liye iss tarah ke alfaaz istemaal kar rahi hai," His sharp voice makes her startled. Her back was turned on him but still, he can sense that she is nervous.

(You call me mad in front of my nephew. Can I know who gave you the right to use such words for me)

Without turning back, Zahra moved a little ahead hiding her face from him.

"Aap ke bhi tou kaam aise hai. Chhote se bacche ko koi akele chodta hai," Zahra said in a stern tone.

(You didn't do a better thing. You shouldn't have let the small child roam alone)

"Phir bhi aap ko haq nahi banta ke aap mere liye aise alfaaz istemaal kare. Khair, behtar hoga ke aap agli baar dhyaan rakhe. Aap jaisi aurto par yeh sab accha nahi lagta," Zameer cleared his throat and her eyes widen.

(It's still doesn't give you a right to talk about me like this. It will be better if you will take care of it next time. Such words doesn't suit the women like you)

"Aurat kisi kaha aapne? I am just 24," Zahra said with rage-filled in her tone.

(Whom you have called women)

"Does it look like I care? Maine thodi aapse shaadi karni hai," Zameer said with sarcasm filled in his tone.

(I don't have to marry you)

"Bhaad mai jaaye aap," Zahra spat and move away from there.

(You can go to hell)

"Ek number ka khadoos aadmi hai," Zahra huffed as she fixed her maangtika.

(He is such a rude person)

≤≥≤≥≤≥

"Ladkiyo, 2 lakh bohot zyada hai. Ek lakh mai baat final karte hai," Groom's mother said and they shooked their head.

(Girls, two lac is too much to give. Let's finalize it by 1 lac)

"Sawaal hi paida nahi hota. 2 lakh de dijiye aur joote le lijiye," Madiha's cousin said in a final tone.

(There is nothing to be argued. You can give us 2 lac and take the shoes)

After the nikah, it was their joota churai rasm. Rituals which is filled with fun and excitement.

"2 lakh mai kitne zero hote hai? Yeh bhi pata hai aap log ko," A man from the groom's side butted in.

(How many zero are there in the 2 lac. Do you all even know)

"Kyu? Aapko nahi pata," The same girl tch and everyone burst into the laughter.

(Why? You don't know)

Zahra was standing there with a tray in her hand. There was a glass of milk and a plate of sweets in her hand.

"Jeeju, aap apni itni acchi saaliyon ki baat kaise nahi maan sakte. Aap ko accha lagega hame manaa karte hue?" Zahra asked softly.

(Jeeju, how can you not listen to us? Aren't we your favorite?)

"Jee. Zahra bhi thik kah rahi hai," Aahil said and took out the envelope from his pocket.

(Yes. Zahra is also right)

Before he could give the envelope to them, a guy from the groom's side snatches it.

"Hadd ho gai, Bhai. Aap itne jaldi haar nahi maan sakte," He butted in.

(It's wrong. You can't give up so early)

Zameer moved towards the ladies section of the function to inform them about the rukhsati. His nose scrunched up as he witnessed the laughing sounds of girls.

"Excuse me, rukhsati ka waqt ho gaya hai. Behtar hoga ke aap log yeh sab jaldi khatam kare," Zameer said in his deep voice.

(It's time for farewell. It will be better if this will end soon)

Zahra flinched hearing his deep voice from just behind her. Her back was facing him.

After the little argument, ladki wali finally won.

Zahra settles the red net dupatta on Madiha's head which covered her face.

It was the rukhsati. A moment where everyone's heart softens. A brother who always annoys his sister, cry for his sister on that day. A father who never expresses his emotions, cry on his beloved daughter rukhsati. A bride left her whimpering mother and walked towards her new life. This is just a rollercoaster of life which is filled with overwhelming kinds of emotions.

Madiha was sitting in the car and a sob escaped her lips. Zahra engulfed her in a hug and few tears fell on her cheekbones.

"I'll miss you, Zaher," Madiha hiccuped, and Zahra shoots her a fake glare.

Zahra moved away from there as the bride's parents want to meet her. She was moving inside the haveli when she collided with someone.

"I am sorry," Zahra lowered her gaze in embarrassment as she moved inside without glancing at him.

His heart skips a beat when she collided with his chest. Her brown chestnut hair hides her facial structure. Zameer caught the glance of her pretty brown eyes. There was an unusual type of emotion swirling through her eyes.

Zameer gazes at her retreating figure in the desire of meeting her again.
