"You're crazy!" I almost yelled as I turned to walk away.

"Mom!" I heard.

That voice, soft and gentle. It was Ellie. My feet instantly glued to the floor and I couldn't even move.

Slowly and slowly, tear drops gathered my eye.

"Babe, please come back to us..." Mason had said.

I turned around to look at him.

"Come back where? To a place where I have nothing to hold on to in your life than these kids you consider rather your own?" I asked him in anger.

He had opened his mouth to speak but immediately, I interrupted him.

"You can't have me. I'm cutting myself lose. That string tied around my legs, it's no more"

"Then hold on to me..." he let out.

"You've cut lose right, you don't have to be subjected to me any longer. Just please..."

Before he could complete his statement I walked off, towards Ellie.

"Do you know how scared I was?" I asked as I kissed her forehead almost in tears.

"I thought something had happened to you. I was really scared" I told her.

"We miss you" she said in tears.

"Dad misses you too" she told me as I stared at him.

He was standing there, where I left him, looking quite pitiable. But really, I asked myself, why did I decide to turn my back at him just like that. I really did not see myself doing it, but really, I felt free, something I hadn't felt in ages.

"We're not a family without you in it mom, please mom, come back home. We really do miss you"

"Come stay with me then, your grandparents are going to be so happy you've decided to spend sometime with them"

"Would dad come along too?" she asked smiling.

"He's a big baby, he can cope on his own. It's only for the weekend, don't worry..."

"It's Friday night, I'm meant to be curled up in bed thinking of moving on, and I'm here with you guys" I complained with a whisper using a funny voice as we both laughed.

I landed a kiss on her head telling her of how much I loved her.

The door opened and Josi walked right in with Jason.

"Mom!" he screamed on top of his voice as he ran to me.

"Baby!" I called as I held unto him firmly giving him a tight hug.

"Why did you leave us?" he asked.

"Common baby, did you really think I did?" I asked him.

"You both, look at me..." I told them.

"I know things may not make sense to you right now, I know you both miss when it used to be I and your dad with you both. But I promise, we'll give you both a better life than we had even though we're apart. I know it's confusing you, how we both are, but I promise, you'll both understand more when you grow up, and I promise, they'll be explanations. We've made you both see what we don't want you to see and I hope you see it for the best. Your father and I, we did not plan things to go this way, but things are going bad between us and I don't see us getting together ever again like we used to be. You know everything always happen for a reason and maybe I and your dad were never meant to be together. Maybe it's time for us to see it was all an illusion, thinking that something good would come out of us..."
