Chapter 21: The Visit

"You should learn to appreciate better things." The shirtless prince said.

"What a non sequitur statment Your Highness." I said.

He snatched the sword from my hand and wrapped his arms around me while the blade was on my neck.

"Any problem with that sorb?" He whispered in my ear. He was uncomfortably near me and the warmth of my body is giving me shivers. It is the totally the sign for pure evil.

I yawned.

"Boooring. Same old. Same old." I'm tired of his sh*t. A threat from him is totally normal. He's all bark but no bite.

"Are you testing me sorb?" He threatened again.

"Yeah. Yeah. Whatever." He didn't speak for a minute then he eventually released me.

"You know I'm actually bothered because we have been training how to use a bow and arrow and now swords? Are forgetting the fact that guns were invented?" I asked him.

"We need to start from the basics of fighting. Did you read the art of war that I gave you?" He was sharpening the sword and the flexing of his muscles are bothering me.

"It's a decent book but what I don't understand is that even though you're good with medieval weapons, a single shot from a gun can actually kill you."

"Shooting comes last. Anyone can use a gun but not everyone can use a sword. The men are trained to fight even without a gun. That's why our army are the best in the field."

"Says the one who was shot in the gut." I whispered.

"What did you say?" He asked.

"I said I understand." I lied.

"No. That's not what I heard."

"Then why don't you tell me what you heard." He stopped what he's doing and looked at me seriously. Damn. He's really attractive. His thick brows, perfect nose and red lips are complemented by his perfectly angled jawline. I admit. His body was more superior than Mattheo. His muscles were more defined and it looks insanely strong. No wonder they're not afraid to show their bodies because if I would remove my shirt, my body looks as plain as our farm. It's probably flat looking.

"What? What did you say?" I asked. I saw his lips move but I was too engrossed in inspecting his body.

"Never mind. On your position. Now!"

I rolled my eyes in annoyance and positioned myself in the way he taught me.

"We might as well train ourselves to throw rocks." I said in my defensive stance.

---------------------------------------------------------

"Could you be more slower?" Greg asked in annoyance.

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" First of all, we're not doing something dirty. We're on a trip to visit his first favēre or his potential bride to be. I sat beside Mattheo because it's the only seat left. Prince Gregory and the king sat in front of us.

He tsked and crossed his legs. I almost forgot that we're supposed to begin our journey at 3:00. I woke up 2:50. Ask me how I made it in time.

The sky was still dark. The lack of light and sleep made me yawn a few times. I can't hold it anymore, I closed my eyes and drifted myself to sleep in a moving car.

"Let him be. He's probably tired." I heard the king say.

"He's a guard. It's his duty to protect us!" prince nimrod hissed.

"It's okay. We have Mattheo." His father replied.

I opened my eyes and saw the prince glaring at me. Apparently I fell asleep and I'm now resting on Mattheo's shoulder. He didn't say a thing though but it seems like it's the prince I'm bothering.

"Look! You woke him up." The king remarked.

My eyes still feel heavy and I was ready to return to dreamland when I felt something kicking my leg.

I opened my eyes and saw the prince glaring at me- again! The heck is his problem? I closed my eyes and fixed my position. I just ignored Greg's action thinking that it was just an accident. Why can't he be like Mattheo? He's not complaining at all.

For the second time he kicked my leg and it was more painful than before. It completely woke me up and I massaged my leg to ease the pain.

He got this smug look on his face and that is why I returned the favor by kicking him harder.

"Ow!" He whined and all our attention was now on him.

"What's the matter?" His father asked.

He looked at me and I gave him my tell-and-I-will-murder-you look.

"Oh it's nothing. Just some leg cramps." He replied sarcastically. His father didn't noticed it though.

My sleep was now interrupted that I just looked outside for the whole trip.

----------------------------------------------------------

"Good morning, Your majesty." A man greeted us once we went out of the car.

"Good morning." The king replied. We entered into a decent villa. Mattheo and I followed them as we were guided on their back lawn. A nice table was arranged complete with tea and breakfast.

Lady Franchette stood and curtsied once he saw us. Prince Gregory unbelievably helped the lady sit down before sitting beside her. I didn't know he has some chivalry left with his attitude.

I just kept quiet for the whole breakfast while listening to their conversation. The food is quite delicious I can avow but the favēre is much more annoying than I have seen. I can totally barf about how she tries to impress the monarch.

"I'm doing wellnin my studies. In fact were doing some research about..." Yeah. Yeah. We get it. You're bride material.

"That's great." Greg praised as if interested about the conversation.

"Oh! Oh! You should try this!" My ears almost split into two when she suddenly shrieked.

She placed some yams on the prince's plate.

"These are personally grown by our serfs. We treat them as a member of our family and it breaks my heart to see some children on the street peddling some money. What I really want to do someday is to help everyone improve their quality of life." She said with passion that I almost rolled my eyes. The least thing I could do is to cough sarcastically.

She's trying really hard that she prepared some speech about yams. Prince Gregory glared at me and I felt that he stepped on my foot.

"I think my guard wants to say something." Greg interrupted. I squinted at him. Now all eyes were on me.

"Uhmm. Ahehehe." I laughed awkwardly. Their stare was making me nervously, and pressured!

"I agree with ms Franchette here. I believe..." Wait. I could've said I have nothing to say!

"You believe?" The prince pressed.

"I believe... The children are our future." They're still looking at me like I still haven't proven my point.

"Teach them well and let them lead the way." I continued. No one seems to know the song because no one reacted. "Show them all the beauty they possess inside. Give them a sense of pride to make it easier. Let the children's laughter. Remind us how we used to be."

"Wow. That's beautiful." Lady Franchette remarked and clapped her hands.

Wow. I don't know whether people here are so stupid or they just didn't know the song.

"Is that the song you sang to me before?" The prince interrupted.

"Yes. It. Is." I bit my lip. Shit. I've been busted! I forgot it's one of the songs I sang to him when he was bored.

"Oh really? Sing it to us!" Lady F. squealed. Oh Jesus. Let's get out of here.

"I'm not really in the mood right now." I reasoned.

"Awwww. I wanted to hear you sing." Lady F commented.

"Why don't we talk about your adopted serfs. I think Prince Gregory is interested in your humanitarian works." I tried to change the topic.

"No. I'm sure they wanted to hear you sing." He sarcastically returned.

"Hehehe. No thanks!" I stuffed my.mouth with their yams and I'm thankful they dropped the topic like a hot potato- which is like yams. And I used a simile to Ugh. Never mind. My jokes are never that funny anyway or it's just too funny that you'll never get it.

"Franchette, Why don't you give the prince a tour while we discuss some important things." His father said after we have eaten.

"Oh yes your highness, we have a lovely garden. Would you like to talk a walk?" She asked the prince. Oh good. That's a great way to dispose of the 2 most annoying people in the table.

"I hope you don't mind." Pfffff. And suddenly the prince have manners. It's basically a scam. I pray that the lady will not be baited.

"I really really don't mind hihi." He held on to the prince's arm and excitedly helped him to stand. Yes! Yes! Go away! And never come back.

But then like all good things, it ended abruptly. The king signalled me to follow them.

It was a good thing Mattheo was also commanded to follow them lovebirds. It was the two of us behind the two plastic dolls.

It was awfully boring. This and that, amd basically the same shit they're talking about.

"Psssst." I called to Mattheo who was very serious at watching the two. He didn't react so I nudged him.

"What?" He whispered.

"Look." I pointed at the lady's butt who's buttcrack was traced.

"That's normal. I don't see what you want to tell me." Mattheo replied. Just then, Lady F. casually adjusted herself to fix her dress. That's when I didn't helped myself but to laugh.

"Pffffft." Prince Greg got curious and looked behind his back. I returned to my silly serious face like what Mattheo has the whole time.

"What's funny?" He asked.

"Nothing Your Highness. I'm sorry I sneezed. The pollen is killing me." I acted like I was having some allergic reactions but I knew he didn't believe me because for the whole time that we were walking, he was looking at us every minute.
