Chapter 39: Chapter Thirty-Nine

Nataly was surprised by Eric’s reaction. He did not drop her to the ground as she stated that the black tiger was her mate, but instead he tightened his grip on her and placed her on the ground, turning their bodies to face the voice that stopped him from leaving.

Astonished, Eric screamed. “He’s not your mate; he’s probably using magic to trick you into believing your mates” “Don’t you see the color of his animal, that’s not a normal one.”

“I’m your mate not that freak!”

Jerry smirked, hearing Eric’s words. He was used to being called all kinds of names.

“Believe it or not she indeed is my mate, and you can’t change that. Another fact you are right about me is that I do have magic but not the kind you are accusing me of.” Jerry replied to Eric.

He cleared his throat and continued taunting Eric. “I would never force a female to be with me by force, unlike you.”

Eric was shaking in anger. “See Nataly, he is not denying he, is a magical being. How can he assure us that he is not using it on you to compel you to like him?”

Nataly’s words were ineffective. Eric wasn’t listening. “Please Eric, listen to me. We are not mates. That man in front of us is my true mate. I have been telling you this for a long time!” Nataly blushed, eyeing the man standing in front of her naked. While she tried to reason with the unhinged Alpha.

“You are lying” Eric shouted making Nataly jump.

As her heart pounded fast, she wanted to crawl out of her skin to escape Eric. That’s when Aly spoke to her. “Naty, take deep breaths, I am here with you, I need you to do something for us. Can you ask Eric if he knows someone named Aly?” With that Aly knew that Eric would let them free from his embrace.

It is something I can do, Aly.” Nataly conjured up all the courage she had, speaking softly to Eric so as not to aggravate him further.

“Eric, may I ask you a question? If you are my mate you wouldn’t lie to me, right?”

" I wouldn’t lie to you babe; you can ask for whatever you want.” He answered her.

“Who is Aly?” When Eric heard that name his face went pale.

“I don’t know anyone named Aly.” Eric lied.

Nataly's’ head hang low, then a chuckle was heard within her chest. Suddenly she started laughing like a manic. Eric pushed her gently away from his body to have a look at her face. This was not normal.

Nataly straightened her head to look Eric in the eyes. Her once forest green eyes were now the color of a clear blue sky. Eric took a step back stumbling on his feet.

Aly now in control of Nataly’s body smiled at Eric. "Hi mate, I thought you still remember me. What a disappointment mate are supposed to remember each other for life.” Aly mocked him. She clicked her tong feign sadness.

“This is not real, you are dead!” Eric screamed pulling out his hair. She couldn’t be here. He took care of her a long time ago. This must be a nightmare.

“Oh, but it is pretty much real mate” Aly said amused.

“So, you do know who I am. From what I can see your memory is coming back to you babe. I don’t want to make you more confused. You did take my life away that night, but the moon goddess gave me a second chance, since you killed me before I met my wolf. She made me Nataly's wolf that is why you felt attracted to her. She told me that this time I would have the opportunity to reject you and make you feel pain like I felt when I was choking on my own blood.”

“You can’t reject me; I don’t have a wolf anymore. The joke is on you mate.” Eric spit out.

“There is where you are wrong Eric. The moon goddess left a thread between us still connecting us even without Simon. She wanted you to pay for rejecting her gift to you.”

Eic’s eyes went wide and before he could protest our insult Aly. She said the words of rejection making his body crumble to the ground feeling a pain he had never felt before.
