My parents betrayed me, they took advantage of my weakness to make me leave my family and I spent my fifteen years looking for them. I couldn't wish anything more than finding them, that's why when I found Ginger my life became brighter again.
My heart is only for Melanie, it never came to my mind that I will love again until I met Alessa Mendez. It sounds corny for my age but it's the truth, I Emman Fernandez, thirty nine years old, fell in love with a twenty-two-year old maiden. She makes me happy, she makes me complete, she can fill the things that Melanie didn't have the chance to give when she died.
I leaned on the couch reminiscing all the things that happened with my life since I found my daughter. I reached for my phone afterwards and gazed at my wallpaper, it's a photo of me and Alessa. I really miss her already and I can't wait to see her again.
"Hello?" She answered after the third ring.
"Hello A! I miss you so much, it's so cold here the heavy snow are starting to form" I said cheerfully, it's not my usual time of call but I really need to hear her voice.
"I miss you too, how are things there?" She inquired. I can sense that she's doing something but I can't figure it out.
"It's fine here, one more week I'm home and I'm so excited. By the way how's Ginger?"
"Oh she---" I frowned when she's interrupted.
"A? You still there?" I asked anxiously.
"Yeah, yeah she's fine, she said she misses you too" I smiled after hearing her response.
"I am too! I'm happy that you two are getting closer" I'm planning on booking a trip to Palawan for the three of us when I come back.
"Did you just moan?" I asked suspiciously. I'm not sure of what I heard but I want to be sure.
Is she having someone over? I asked mentally.
"No...no, I gasped because the book that I'm holding fell on my right foot" I sighed in relief upon hearing her explanation. I don't know what I'm gonna do if I find out that she's having an affair.
"Oh, be careful next time okay? anyway I have to go, I love you" I have a business meeting today so I really have to go because my client texted me already.
"I love you too" It's a bit strange because it took her a while to respond but I shook it off my head because I'm already in a hurry.

When I come back I will make sure to plan for my wedding and make it the most extravagant and memorable wedding of the year. I never once doubt her love for me, I know that she loves me and I trust her. I'm happy that Ginger is very supportive for the both of us even though her soon to be mom is just about her age.
I smiled when Ginger came to my mind again, I'm glad that she already found her happiness through Janine. It breaks my heart before when she told me about her ex-girlfriend that disappeared without saying anything.
Ginger loved her so much and it took her three years to finally stop talking about her. I was in deep thought when my phone rang.
"Sir, I now know the name of Ginger's ex-girlfriend" said by the private detective that I hired. I am very intrigued with that girl because Ginger never mentioned her name.
"Good, So what's her name?" I asked curiously. I'm thinking her name would be Megan or Sydney.
I leaned my back on the couch while waiting for the detective's response. I frowned when I heard him sigh.
"She's Alessa" I straightened my sit upon hearing what he said.
"Who?" I asked him once again to confirm if I'm not mistaken.
"Alessa Mendez. Ginger worked at a pastry shop six years ago and that's the place where they first met. They've been together for a year before Alessa disappeared, that's all I got sir" I didn't respond and just pressed the end call button.
"Alessa is Ginger's ex-girlfriend? Is this some kind of a sick joke?" I muttered before standing up.
I headed to the kitchen and took a bottle of beer in the fridge. I closed my eyes afterwards and the memories of previous conversations that I had with Ginger and Alessa came rushing back to me.
It never came to my mind that Alessa is into girls too. She told me all the name of her ex-boyfriends, but she never told me that she had a girlfriend before. I trusted her and I never thought that she would keep a secret from me.
"Why did you leave my daughter without saying anything?" I mumbled as I took another shot.
So that's the reason why they both looked so surprised when I introduced them to each other. That also explains why Alessa don't come to my house before whenever Ginger is around.
My daughter is so miserable when I found her, she would just stay in her room and cry all day. It breaks my heart to see her like that, but I can't do anything because she's still aloof to me that time.
"I'm so dumb" I slapped my forehead in so much anger.
What if your partner didn't say to you that she had a girlfriend before? Janine also knows, which explains why she's not in good terms with Alessa.
"How can I not see it? Why didn't I notice it before? Why didn't you tell me this A!" I groaned as my tears started to form.
Yeah that's true, which means that she loves you because she chose you and left her girlfriend. That also explains why Alessa said that to me.
But what if your girlfriend and her ex-girlfriend meet again, does it bother you? I remember Janine asked me.
I'm sure her ex-girlfriend will not seduce her, she left her remember? She left her for some unknown reason and-- Ginger was a bit mad when she said those words.
The three of them knows and I'm the fool one who doesn't have any idea of what's happening. I believed everything that Alessa told me and without a doubt.
Ginger is hurting because I am going to marry her ex-girlfriend. She didn't tell me and chose to keep it to herself because she wants me to be happy. She chose to be hurt than to hurt me by telling the truth.
"Why do you have to hide the truth to me A? If you just said to me the name of your ex-girlfriend this won't happen" I mumbled as my tears started to fall.
"Why do I still love you? After what you've done to my daughter and me?" I yelled before throwing the bottle of beer that I'm holding to the floor.
I stood up and punched the wall which caused my hand to bleed, but I don't care, what I'm feeling right now is beyond compare when Melanie died.
I'm not mad with Ginger, I know that she chose not to tell me because she loves me and not for any reason, but knowing that Alessa is staying in my house with Ginger, I suddenly became afraid.
What if she seduce my daughter? What if Ginger still loves her? I asked myself mentally. I started panicking and searched for my phone again and dialed Ginger's number.
"Hello?" she sound sleepy. I want to make sure that she already moved on from Alessa.
"Hey GG, uh... I just want to ask you something and I want you to answer me truthfully"
"Sure, what is it?"
"Do you still love your ex-girlfriend?" There's a long pause before she respond.
"What are you saying dad? You woke me in the middle of the night just to ask me that?" she said irritably.
"Just answer my question please" I heard her sigh.
"I don't lover her anymore, I've moved on from her a long time ago and I don't want to see her again" she replied after a moment.
I smiled in relief, I believe her because she's my daughter and I know that she will not betray me and her girlfriend Janine.
"Thank you so much GG, I love you"
"Love you too Dad, good night" she said before hanging up.
Since she confirmed that she doesn't want Alessa anymore and that she doesn't care, I felt calm. I don't want to lose her, I can't imagine myself loving someone else than her. I will marry her immediately when I come home.
I will not tell them that I already know their past, I will act normal until our wedding day, I will not ruin our relationship because I want to have a peaceful family.
This is what I longed for and this is what will happen, I will forgive them for keeping secrets from me because it's all in the past now.
I picked up my phone again and dialed the number of my secretary.
"Book me a flight to Philippines on Tuesday, yes business class" I will surprise the both of them. I can't wait for a week to see them, I need to be with them as soon as possible

"Hey" I muttered before hugging Alessa from behind. Her body froze the moment my lips landed on her nape.
"Emman? I thought you will come back after a week?" I turned her around to face me before giving her a peck on her lips.
"Yeah but I finished everything yesterday so I booked a flight back here immediately, back to you" I replied sweetly.
"Aren't you happy? " I asked frowning when I saw a glimpse of sadness on her eyes.
"No" She shook her head immediately before giving me a peck on my lips.
"Of course I'm happy! I've missed you a lot!" She hugged me tight afterwards. Her warmth makes me forget what I discovered.
I need to feel her body again, I need to make her mine so I carried her bride style and brought her upstairs to my room.
"Dad!" I stopped walking when I saw Ginger in front of her room, her eyes averted to Alessa after a while. I can't tell what she's thinking because she has a blank expression on her face.
"GG I'll talk to you later, I need to finish my unfinished business" I said then winked at her before entering my room while kissing Alessa.

It's been two weeks already since I came back from London, both of them don't act strange but I don't know what they're doing when I'm not around.
I became suspicious every time Alessa goes to school and leaves the house, she's now living with us because I told her that it's a preparation since we're getting married soon.
She's back to her usual sweet attitude when I'm around and she makes me feel like I am really loved. Ginger on the other hand is always out partying, it's not that I don't care but every time I ask her or try to bond with her she will just smile and always tell me that we'll do it some other time.
I can't blame her because it's really awkward seeing your father and your ex-girlfriend together so I understand why she's like that. I'm sure she will get over it soon, after all, she assured me that she no longer have feelings for Alessa.
Today, Ginger and I will look for a church for the wedding. I told her that I will be home by afternoon but I changed my mind because I'm so excited to bond with her.
I arrived home at exactly eleven thirty. I parked my car immediately and headed to the lounge. I'm not expecting Alessa to greet me because she doesn't know that I already arrived.
I threw my key on the center table before heading to the kitchen, maybe she's there cooking.
"A?" I called her but there's no response. I shook my head and smiled before opening the fridge to drink water.
Maybe she's in her room my mind suggested. I headed upstairs immediately to check but to my dismay she's not also there.
"Where are they?" I muttered frowning. I'm sure Alessa is already home because her car is already outside.
I suddenly became nervous when I heard Ginger's voice from the terrace. I headed there immediately and was shocked when I saw them fighting.
"Enough! I don't want to hear any of your lies! Fuck you for fucking me and fuck myself for begging you to fuck me!" Ginger yelled in anger, I can't believe what I just heard.
What if your girlfriend had sex with her ex-girlfriend again?...
What if your daughter had sex with your girlfriend?...
Those words keep on repeating on my mind.
"Why did you do this to me Ginger? Why did you touch A?" I muttered between gritting my jaw in anger.
She said she already forgot Alessa and she already moved on from her. I trusted her because she's my daughter and I know that she will never betray me.
But now I've found out that there's still something happening between them, suddenly the surrounding became black.
