Chapter 21: Ch.19 What you don't know won't hurt you.

ALESSA POV

It's our break time already, Maya and I decided to eat outside the cafeteria because it's already too crowded there.

"How's Ginger? Is she talking to you now?" she asked before taking a bite of her sandwich.

I sighed because it's been a week now since Emman and Ginger fought in his parents house. They're still not talking, I can understand if she's not talking to me because I'm used to her being cold but to her father it's different.

I can't blame Emman for slapping her because she already crossed the line. He is just torn between his mother being sick and his daughter being rejected by his mom.

She always go out at night to party with her friends, I can't do the same because aside from studying I'm also managing our family business.

"Nope, no improvement and every time I visit Emman she's not home" I replied sadly.

"Can't blame her"

"I know, but Emman is really worried. I like them to reconcile already but it's like they're back from the time when he just found her" I feel really sad but it's frustrating because I can't do anything about it.

"Hey mom" I frowned when Janine suddenly appeared.

"Don't call me mom we're not related" I said irritably.

"What do you want?" Maya asked politely, she knows that I don't like Janine.

"Nothing, I just came by to greet the both of you" she replied before turning her attention to mine again.

"Alessa dear don't worry cause we'll be related soon, when you marry Emman" Maya and I gave her a confused look.

What does she mean by that? I asked myself mentally. She chuckled and crossed her arms when she noticed that we didn't get what she just said.

"Well as you can see, I am Ginger's girlfriend" I arched my brow upon hearing what she said.

"Girlfriend? Ginger said you two are only best friends, well except" Maya paused.

"Yes, except that she gives me everything that I want, make love to me etc. So that makes us in a relationship and that entitles me to call you mom" she said before winking at me.

She's really giving me the nerves, I don't know what's gotten into Ginger giving her everything that she wants. Recently she gave her Honda jazz to Janine which is ridiculous.

The word make love doesn't fit her, shag does. I rolled my eyes at her afterwards.

"I don't care about your whatsoever dilemma but it's clear to me that Ginger is just using you as a fuck buddy if that's what you call relationship" I stood up afterwards.

"Stop calling me mom, know your place first before you say anything stupid" I said sternly.

"Oh dear trust me, I know my place I don't know yours?" my ears ticked upon hearing what she said.

"What are you saying" I asked frowning.

"Ginger said she loves me and I'm sure that she won't just say that to anybody, you know what? you're right, I can't just call you mom because you're also my rival"

What is this slut implying? She smirked when she noticed again that I didn't get what she's saying.

"I know what happened six years ago between the two of you, I know your dirty little secret and I know why you're always mad at me" my face flushed immediately.

Damn you Ginger for telling this to Janine! I cursed mentally. I glared at her but she ignored it and continued talking.

"You're mad because Ginger is with me and not coming after you, well if I were in her shoes I'd tell it to my dad immediately, I wont---" I slapped her face to shut her up, she have no rights to say anything to me.

"I love Emman, you and Ginger can go to hell I don't care. What happened between us six years ago is none of your business and please look at me, if we both get naked in front of her I'm pretty sure she will choose me. She's fucking you because she's frustrated that I rejected her when she wanted me" I said cockily.

Ginger can't love her because she can only love once and I'm sure that it's me, that's what she said back then and I'm still holding on to that.

She looked so pissed off, what I said is off guard but it's her fault because she gave me the nerves for calling me mom. She massaged her red cheek and she looked like she's about to cry. I'm about to apologize but she stormed off already.

"Phew! That was intense girl" Maya nudged at me. I sat down afterwards and started playing the straw in my soda.

"I guess I crossed the line but it's her fault, let's eat fast because our break will be over soon" I said dismissing the topic.

We came back to the park after our class to review for our upcoming defense. We both flinched when Ginger slammed the table which caused my book to fall to the ground.

"Why did you slap Janine?" She asked angrily.

"Could you please minimize your voice we're not deaf" I rebuked her.

"Why did you slap Janine?" She repeated. I glared at her, I'm about to respond when Maya spoke.

"She said stupid things to Alessa and even called her mom"

"That's it?! Doesn't it crossed your mind that maybe she's just joking?" I arched my brow upon hearing her dumb excuse.

"Joke? That's not a joke Ginger, she insulted me! She approached us all of a sudden and told me stupid things" I yelled in annoyance.

"And what stupid things did she say huh?" she crossed her arms and waited for my response. I opened my mouth to speak but I can't bring myself to utter a single word.

"She said that you love her and that she knows what happened between the two of you six years ago" Maya answered for me again.

She flicked her tongue and massaged her temple afterwards.

"Because it's true, I told her that I love her" I feel like I am being stabbed to death right now.

Damn you Ginger! You said you will love me forever.

"You ...you did?" I asked in disbelief. I'm not yet ready to see her loving someone else than me.

"Yes" she said a bit calmer now.

"You should've not slapped her, she said you slapped her after she called you mom" that slut is making me bad in her eyes.

"She started it" my voice suddenly became broke. She's accusing me and it hurt's because it's obvious that she's on Janine's side.

"I don't know who to believe anymore" she said frustratedly.

"Then believe me for old time's sake, you know me, I won't just slap someone without a valid reason" I argued hastily. I leaned closer to tap her shoulder but she moved away.

"I don't know you anymore, the Alessa who loved me back then maybe yes but the Alessa now... I'm sorry I don't know" she said before walking away.

I'm hurt and insulted at the same time. I'm still the old Alessa that she loved, but I can't deny the fact that a lot of things have changed.

"So... are you attending Laura's party on Wednesday?" Maya asked trying to lighten up my mood, I shook my head in response and didn't speak afterwards.

"You can go to Laura's party, she's your close friend right?" Emman said while patting my head.

"No it's okay, I want to be here with you" I replied while hugging him tight, we're on the couch cuddling. He smiled and kissed my forehead afterwards.

"I want you to enjoy your life right now. Trust me you're not gonna have this chance again when we get married. You're going to manager your company and your family so I want you to enjoy as much as you could now" he said sweetly.

I'm so lucky to have an understanding boyfriend, he's so amazing in every way. I kissed him on his lips before standing up.

"Well, if you insist then I must be going, I should prepare because you know I only have three hours left. I'll call you when I arrive at Laura's okay? I love you" I headed to my car immediately and drove fast back to my house.

I'm drying my hair when my phone vibrated. It's a call from Maya, I pressed the hands free button immediately.

"Girl you ready? I heard there are lots of bachelors attending so you better look gorgeous tonight!" She said excitedly.

"I don't have time for that, I'm engaged to a bachelor already" I put down the hair dryer when I'm done and started putting on my make up.

"Boring, by the way, your bachelor's daughter is here so you have to look good! Make Ginger drool"

"Nah, no need for that, got to go I need to get dressed see you at eight" I said before hanging up.

The thought of Ginger being there at the party makes it hard for me to choose what to wear. I don't know why I  feel like I should look good for her.

Because you want to impress her, My mind replied. Which I denied by shaking my head.

After fifteen minutes of searching I ended up wearing a miniskirt and a black crop top, whatever I wear I still look good in it.

I entered Laura's house excitedly only to be welcomed by irritable Ginger.

"Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at home?" Great now she's my mother.

"It's one of my friend's party so it's natural that I'm here... I should be the one asking you that?" I said raising my brow while pointing at her.

"Laura and I are friends as well, did you tell this to dad?" I rolled my eyes, they became friends immediately after I introduced her to Laura.

"Of course he knew, I won't be surprised if after a year you're gonna be friends with almost half of the students in our school" I said annoyed, she's acting as if she's my fiancée.

I don't have time to listen to her preach and I want to enjoy the night. I'm still pissed off at her because of what happened between me and Janine at the park.

"Dad really trusts you huh? I'm hoping that you're not gonna break that. If I were him I'd rather lock you up in my house" she said while shaking her head before disappearing from the crowd.

Yeah I'd rather lock myself with you I replied mentally. I bit my lower lip when I noticed how gorgeous she looked tonight. She's wearing a body fit mini skirt dress that emphasizes her sexy body. I pouted when I saw both genders checking her out.

I headed to the mini bar and took three shots of zombie before I searched for Maya. I found her sitting on the couch while chatting with a cute boy. I walked closer to her and pulled her up to dance.

My body feels hot because of the alcohol, Emman is right when he said that I should enjoy these kind of things before I get married.

"Hey gorgeous" Victor whispered to my right ear. He's handsome tonight, no wonder Maya is head over heels for him.

"Uhm hi" I greeted before facing him.

"Shall we dance?" I'm already tipsy and my body is starting to feel numb.

"Sure" my eyes are closed because I'm feeling the music.

He grasped my waist and pulled me closer to him. I'm dancing sensually with the song suit and tie, I'm enjoying the dance when I heard the crowd cheering. I turned around and saw Ginger's face on Laura's breasts.

"What the hell are they doing?" I mumbled frowning.

She retreated afterwards and started spinning the bottle. I know Laura have a thing on Ginger and she's clearly making a move right now. What I hate the most is that she is definitely good looking as well. I don't want any of my friends having an affair with my ex because it's really awkward as hell.

You just want her for yourself my mind is pestering me right now.

I snapped the thought out of my head and observed their little game while still dancing, I sighed when the bottle pointed to Laura again, she's really enjoying the game now I can tell. I frowned when the crowd suggested the tongue.

"Damn you Ginger" I cursed her under my breath when they kissed.

I can't help myself not to look at them, good thing I'm a bit tipsy because if I'm not, I'm gonna make sure to rip Laura's hair out of her head right now.

Ginger averted her eyes on me afterwards and frowned when he saw Victor, I didn't notice that his face is on the crook of my neck already. She gave me a death glare, if looks could kill I'd be dead right now.

Next thing I knew she's already in front of me and she's grabbing Victor's arm.

"What are you doing to my dad's fiance?!" she asked angrily. He's taken aback but managed to still answer calmly.

"I'm just whispering something" I rolled my eyes, I don't know why she have to act like that.

"Whispering? Your face is on her neck, I know you are aware she's engaged so stop flirting with her!" My eyes widen in disbelief.

"I know what I'm doing Ginger! I'm not a kid and we're not doing anything so you can now continue kissing my friend and leave us alone" I said before pushing her away.

The thought of her kissing Laura pisses me off so bad. She grabbed my arm and dragged me outside of Laura's house. Her grasp on my arm hurts so much so I snatched it away from her.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked yelling, I'm just inches away from her face. I'm angry but there's a part of me that wants to kiss her right now, but I held myself.

"You're drunk, I'm taking you home!" She said before opening the her car.

"I am not done yet, I'm still enjoying the party!" I argued before I started walking away.

"Enjoying the party or that Victor?" she called after me.

"It's none of your business! You're not my fiancée so stop interfering with my life! It's you who's drunk!"

"I can't believe dad trusted you! You are clearly flirting with that man!" I stopped walking and turned around to face her.

"I also can't believe you're his daughter!" I yelled back at her before heading back to the party.

I'm not gonna let her ruin my night, I wiped my tears and headed to the mini bar afterwards. I will drink as much as I could and no one can stop me.
