Sitting upside down with my hand cupping the side of my face.
I'm drowning in boredom about to drift off to dreamland as I let another tired yawn escape my lips. Seriously, how can someone be so...SO UNENTERTAINING!
The leader of Blue whatever group has been pathetically fighting against the stone tortoise for almost 20 minutes by now! Why can't he speed it up already or even better...BECOME THE TORTOISE'S FOOD!
It would satisfy the both of us excluding him...but yeah, the tortoise and I would definitely be happy to see him become lunch.
After another 5 minutes of waiting, I start to loop around in circles performing summersaults through approaching clouds.
I let out a mighty sigh in frustration and annoyance, "this is taking forever" I yell stretching my hands out in emphasis, "why can't the tortoise just eat him already." I mutter while sulking, making sure to send a glare his way. If looks could kill the guy would long be dead and long past his way in the reincarnation cycle.
'this is taking to long, should I help him? Or...should I help the tortoise in it's quest for lunch? Hmmmm, to many options to choose from, hmmm there's just too many.' I quietly think while stroking my none existent beard in thought.
"To help or to not to help, that is the question." I wisely say with my pointer tapping against my chin as I hear another desperate plea for help that was countered by a louder roar of hunger.
Damn, I never thought that being hungry could be so powerful and loud, as I cover my ears from a sharp and piercing cry.
*sigh* Well, who would've guessed, rolling my eyes. The said person's cry came from non other then the Blue Moon Mercenary guilds leader.
"HELP ME STUPID GIRL!!" His loud pathetic cry scaring off the near by birds, sending them scattering in all different directions.
Sadly for him, I was to distracted watching the various birds fly away as they change their flight patterns. 'Ooo, look at that! It's just like a rainbow, how pretty.' I commented to Scarlett pointing at one of the birds that stood out, the birds flew above looking like a beautiful array of colours.
"DID YOU NOT HEAR ME GIRLY!!" Another loud call vibrates through the clearing.
I pretended to clean my ear as I ask Scarlett, "Did you hear something?"
'Nah, it's probably just some animal.' Scarlett says plainly while playing around with her nails, 'do you like my painted nails I just painted them.'
'you always have that colour,' I state rolling my eyes.
'awww, but doesn't it look good on me.'
'mmmm, sure the colour red suits you a lot,' I finish without a care, before we feel into silence.
Scarlett then took the short moment of silence to slyly ask 'Oh, I forgot to ask you, Rosie, have you seen Lucifer lately? Or do you know where he has been?'
"You." I say pointing at her with anger in my eyes, my hand shaking. Taking a deep breath in and letting it slowly out, I look into her eyes while calmly watching her, "You, seriously want to ask me about him."
'Yeah, what of it. You know I like him, he reminds me of someone I used to know. So, just hurry up and tell me where he is.'
Giving a sneer, I spat out coldly, "Tch, that love of yours went "to get you a birthday gift" and didn't want me to tell you."
'Oh...thanks, I guess. I'm going to go now. BYE!' Scarlett rushed while holding back a smile, her eyes shining brightly.
"Don't be like that Scar, I hate to be the one to crush your hopes but I have to tell you that he's not good for you. After all why would he lie about getting you a gift if he doesn't even know when you birthday is. Hell! You don't even know when your own birthday is! We both picked the day that we met as your birthday and we haven't told a single soul about it either!" I huff out angrily, fully knowing that the rant was more for myself than it was for her. Releasing all the pent up anger and frustration I had developed over the last few weeks.
Even after I had said my piece Scarlett still remained silent and no matter what I said she remained silent. After a few more tries, I decided to just leave her be as I guessed she needed time to reassess her feelings for him.
The same thing happened to me once, on a particular past missions, were I ended up falling for my target then got brutally betrayed and injured. Costing almost both mine and Scarlett's life and wellbeing, it was then that after nearly losing the most dearest person that I decided to discard the simple feelings and emotions of love unless it was for Scarlett.
"She was all I needed and she'll continue being the only thing I need-" BANG!
"Seriously? You couldn't wait until I finished my sentence" I say lifting an eyebrow up in question while watching the long blast of water get deflected by the invisible shield of wind that was whirling around me, it served as a barrier between me and the water.
"WELL YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE IGNORED ME BRAT!"
"Well, excuse you, for your terrible sense of pride AND FEELING THE NEED TO DRAG AN INNOCENT GIRL INTO YOUR OWN STUPID PROBLEMS." I emphasis, looking lazily at him with a smirk across my face filled with mockery.
"SHUT IT GIRLY!" He yells sending another blast of water only be deflected against the barrier of wind. As I let a yawn and a short stretch showing how bored I was at his pathetic attempts to engage me in battle.
"*yawn*, you know you don't scare me right? Also, I suggest that you should keep your eyes on the big fella behind ya before you get eaten...or crushed to death." I respond absentmindedly while looking at the surrounding area and ignoring the painful scream of said guy as he suffered another injury to his back.
"Told ya." I comment again, covering a snicker.
"WHY DON'T YOU SHUT THAT ROTTEN MOUTH OF YOURS AND DO SOMETHING!" He continues yelling while blocking another incoming attack from the enraged tortoise.
"and why would I do that?" I turn back my head to face him, purely curious to what he would respond with.
"Cause, if you do then you can get your fair share of the Spring's water." He answers confidently as he dodges an attack.
"See, again. Why would I help if I can already get that if I help feed you to him?" I lazily gesture to the stone tortoise, my tone hinting to the fact that I thought his response was ludacris and not worth considering.
"Tch, stinking brat. So, your just gonna let me die to this beast then?" He asks annoyed, struggling to keep up with the continuous barrage of attacks.
'I guess that poison's finally acting up, huh?' I silently thought as the tortoise again breathed out a barely noticeable mist from it's mouth.
'it's waiting for him to die, what a smart fella this guardian beast is.'
"Hmmm, yep. I guess so..." I nod in thought while popping the 'p' in the 'yep' part.
"I guess this is farewell, girly. I guess the next time we meet will be in the devil's land." He breathes out with a helpless smile before taking his own life, just as the tortoise clamped it's mouth down. Completely devouring him within the next moment and returning to the stone cave entrance with each loud earth rumbling step. Watching as the guardian beast slowly closed it's eyes and became one with the mountain again, completely disappearing from view. Returning the clearing with the large green waters of the misty spring in silence.
Falling silent I turn my back thinking on the mans last words. I give one last look at the lake and "mountain" before whispering quietly with a sad smile gracing my lips "I guess it was about time someone said that."
