A/N: Happy New Year's everyone!! I hope everyone is going to have a great start to the year.

Another week has passed, that means we've spent 2 weeks here in Yokohama village.
The project is coming along really well and I'm halfway done, I haven't implemented the magic for it yet as I don't have barrier magic so I had to improvise and modify the device so that I could amplify my space magic that will be inserted into this clear mana crystal.
The mana crystal will be able to hold my magic as the device will need spatial magic to run.
The problem is when the mana crystal runs out, since I won't be here at the village all the time. I won't be able to recharge the crystal, I'll have fond another way for it to be fixed.
While fiddling with the mana crystal a thought crosses my mind, what if someone in the village is able to use space magic?
It would solve the issue and the project can continue without a hitch, I must go see Uncle now.
I flick the mana crystal in the air as it falls I turn to walk out of the inn and proceeded to Uncle's place.
The moment the crystal is about to drop to the floor it vanished leaving a slight ripple.
I'm now at Uncle's place and as usual I contact him through the telepathy skill I was able to master. And walk through the door, yes I mean literally walking through their wooden door. I'm able to manipulate the density of an object allowing me to warp it and walk through with ease. Though the same thing could be done with a portal but it requires to much mana and concentration. Plus, I couldn't really be bothered.
Why?
Well, that's because my thoughts are preoccupied by where Lucifer might be. He's been to suspicious lately, when he left before we came here, his words were, "I'm going to be away for awhile."
I had asked why, as it was to abrupt.
His response was that of, "I'm going somewhere far."
He completely dodged the question of why and instead told me something useless. So, I persisted I knew his character best after all I've met many bad liars in my life. Be finally gave in but what he said next immediately made me cautious and alert, he had said, "I'm going to prepare a gift for Scarlett's birthday."
He said is so well that I could almost buy it except for the fact that one Scarlett doesn't even know her own birthday and two she would never tell him when she hasn't even told me. It let a bad taste in my mouth that he was using Scarlett's feelings for him to make a seemingly pure lie. I hated these types of people, though it's pretty hypocritical for me to say that as I do it too. Yet I still can't stand it, I'm not a good person and I don't think of myself worthy of others affection, so I never do it unless it's the last option and even then when I do it, I feel extremely guilty and horrible. But looking at people like Lucifer who do it without batting an eye with a seemingly innocent smile I can't help but want to throw a punch or at least beat them up to the point where their unrecognizable.
Sadly, I couldn't do it so I forced myself to stay calm and put on my most gullible face while teasing him.
Each word made me want to stab him even more but I still held back, once he was gone I even went to the training grounds and had blown up some targets.
I think I might have overdone it as I was then later banned from going near the training grounds. I felt very bad for causing such a scene but at least I got to release some steam.
I'm finally at Uncle's house, and the minute I nodded Archie appeared happily grinning while greeting, "Hello, big sis!"
Archie was such a cheerful kid, And at his greeting I just found myself smiling as I patted his head lightly with my own greeting, "Hey, Archie. Is your father there?"
"Yes, yes he's here but why are you always coming to see him. I'm here too you know." He complained with his arms crossed as a pout formed on his little grumpy face.
"Archie, you know I need to Uncle so that village will be safe."
"humph...I know...but I want you to come visit for me!"
Hearing his reply as he stared stubbornly at me, made me let out a little laugh at his childishness. I bended down to his level and held his arms before saying to his face, "Okay then! I'll definitely come just for you next time, okay?"
"Yes! Yes, Definitely Okay!" He said while nodding his head vigorously.
Archie was grinning like an idiot over such a small thing that it warmed my heart, but that didn't last long as we were broken up by Uncle's voice, "Good, now Lilith why have you come?"
"Uncle." I salute seriously before my lip started to quiver and I started laughing. It seemed that he wasn't bothered by it again, as he just raised his eyebrow in challenge while keeping his usual stern expression but his eye's contained his warmth and happiness in seeing me.
"Hehe, sorry." I let out while rubbing the back of my head with an apologetic smile.
"Mmmm, it's good to see you to Lilith." He said with his face softening as a light gentle smile appeared.
Nodding I open my mouth to speak, "Mmm, yes I agree. Actually I've come to see you to hopefully discuss the final stages of the project."
Hearing what I've said, I noticed his eyes light up with disbelief and surprise. So, I added a nervous yet guilty smile while saying, "surprise...hehe..."
"I didn't think it would be almost done. You've only started it not to long ago too, you definitely have succeed my expectations Lilith."
He nodded his head with praise, it wasn't a common sight to see him praise someone but I grew used to it as I've surprised him countless times within the past 2 weeks. Actually, I knew from the beginning that he didn't really expect much from me as I was just a young 16yr old girl and a noble at that. Being a noble girl most people had the idea that I was very sheltered and inexperienced, I don't hold any dislike or negative feelings to those people as what they thought was theoretically correct, it was just that in my case it was kinda special.
Anyways back to the task at hand asking if anyone in the village possessed either space or barrier magic.
"Uncle, does anyone in Yokohama village possibly have the ability to utilise spatial magic or create barriers?"
"Hmmm, well you see dear. I, myself possess The ability to create barriers-"
"Really?!!"
"Yes. But, I wouldn't be much help as my duty is to keep the large protective barrier over the Yokohama mountain."
"Oh, I see..."
"What are you hoping to do with the particular individual?"
"I was hoping for them to recharge the mana crystal that will be implemented into the device. As I won't be staying here permanently and I don't possess teleportation magic, I can't really be here whenever the mana crystal may run out."
"Hmmm, okay. I see then, there is one person that I know of who possess the same magic as me, that being my son, Archie. As for space, I believe that there is two brothers in the village who possess it. They should be the Fawns brothers.
"Oooo, okay. Bring the two to see me, I'll see who is most suitable as the process in recharging a mana crystal may look deceptively easy but in actuality it's extremely difficult."
"Yes, that would be the best. I'll send a message to the boys to meet you at the training field."
"Really? The training grounds. I thought I had gotten banned from entering, does that mean the ban is now lifted?"
"No. Of course not you little jinx. Last time you blew up the training grounds, we had to relocate and switching our training to a new place which we call now, the training field."
"How, boring."
"You aren't allowed to use your magic there besides this one time and it can only be done supervised."
"Huh? Supervised?"
"Yes, supervised."
"By whom?"
"That would be me." Turning to see who this new voice came from, I saw a refined handsome man. "Who are you?"
"I'm Henry Quinn, I'm the vice chief of Yokohama and Grants old childhood friend."
"Does that mean I call you Uncle too?"
"Huh?"
"I call him Uncle, so does that mean I also call you Uncle? As you seem to be around his age meaning that your my seniors by a whole generation."
"I guess..."
"Alright then, Uncle Henry nice to meet you. My name is Lilith Rosie Carson, I will be in your care."
"Alright. Nice to meet you miss Lilith."
"Great, now that you're acquainted why don't you go to the training fields."
At his words I looked startled, he wanted to kick us out already. What's the rush? Does he have a hidden mistress? No. If he did he didn't need to hide it as in this day and age men where allowed to have multiple women. So, why?
Then a possibility came into my mind as I looked from Uncle's face to Henry, could it be? Is he maybe into boys?
Ah!
Could this be...
Forbidden love!
The boy love I've read so much about in modern days but isn't accepted in this particular society yet.
Shocked filled my mind and body as my thoughts began running wild.
How long has their relation been?
Could it be after Archies mother's death?
Maybe it could have been before that, after all in this date and age this was a forbidden love.
My thoughts my have began being written on my face as Uncle Henry and Uncle began sweating and looking rather uncomfortable. It was then Uncle Henry, flicked me on the head before saying, "Have you no shame, thinking such thoughts?"
Aww, does that mean there wasn't a thing between them, but Mr Quinn would look great being the stepfather of Archie.
*sigh* If only this was the modern times!
"Henry, you better take her away to the training fields before she keeps going with that train of thought." Uncle advises while looking at Henry with concern and helplessness.
"Got it." Henry replied with a sigh of understanding, quickly grabbing my wrist.
"Huh?" I stared down at his hand before looking at his face in question.
But sadly he just ignored me and notified Uncle saying, "We'll be going now, Grant."
Uncle didn't seem to mind his action of grabbing my wrist and only nodded his head and said calmly, "Mmm, have fun."
It was then the room started to blur and my head began to fill dizzy. Oh god, have mercy why is it that I have to be teleported everywhere. You know that I get dizzy from warping time and space, that's why I never go through my own portals.
Now I feel nauseous, I hate you Henry Quinn for making me suffer. Even if we just met a few minutes ago and you didn't know of this fact.
I began glaring at him while I squatted down into a ball, hugging my knees to my stomach in a sulking manner.
He noticed my penetrating glare and seemed to know my situation. He then gave a guilty smile saying apologetically, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you would be someone who was sensitive to time and space warping."
He's apology didn't make me feel better as I still remained in the same position. Though, I did stop glaring as I felt that it was beneath me to be upset over the little fact that he teleported me without the knowledge of my sensitivity. Plus, how would he have known in the first place. People like me are rare and most people don't even feel sick after their first time teleporting.
Honestly, it made me jealous that others could freely teleport and not suffer in the slightest.
Must be nice to not get sick and feel like the world is spinning or flipping.
I was still sulking until I heard Henry's voice, "Miss Lilith, the two boys are here."
My back was turned so, I had to lift my head first before twisting it over my shoulder to see them.
The first thing I heard from their mouths were, "what's wrong with her?"
This comment thoroughly upset me as I sent another glare at Henry before turning my back to them. The boy spoke was my guess the younger brother, he was more blunt, arrogant and rude meaning that he was spoilt by his parents and those around him. My guess was that he never suffered any grievances before and if he did then his parents would handle it for him.
While I had looked at the other quiet more reserved boy I could see that he looked reliable, sensible yet calm. It was a complete contrast but there was something off about him, one he looked very distant and I could tell that he looked at his younger brother in hate and disgust. He was not a very good elder brother as he never corrected the younger one and instead chose to let the younger one humiliate himself and their family.
The two were both terrible, choices when it came to fulfilling the requirements. The only way to be able to recharge the mana crystal without breaking it, was to be able to free yourself from negative and superficial feelings while inserting the magic into the crystal.
And just by the first glance, I could tell they wouldn't be able to even do that. So, what was the point in trying and wasting valuable time.
Sighing I get up and start walking back to the village, I didn't even get to 3metres before I heard the voices of the boys.
"Hey! What's wrong with you? You called us here yet you only spare a glance at us before ignoring us and leaving."
I heard the younger yelling. I swear my ear was going yo turn deaf, so, annoying.
"Calm down, Keith." I hear Henry say, though I knew he, himself felt confused. I could tell from the tone of his voice.
Pausing, I cocked my head over my shoulder and looked at them before saying, "not worth my time."
Hmmm, Keith was his name...huh. We'll see.
I kept continuing my walk back to the village not giving a glance back, but then not long after I took 4 steps I heard a different voice,
"excuse me Miss, my younger brother was being extremely rude to you. I'm sorry as older brother."
Hmmm, interesting. This one is not bad, I can see a small potential in him. With that in mind I paused and asked, "Hmmm? Is that so?"
"A-ah, yes." He stumbled before speaking properly, I guess he was caught of guard at my response.
I still kept my back facing them, as I lifted my chin to the side and called, "And what of it?"
It was rather silent for a short time before I heard his younger brother, Keith called out to him, "Ethan?"
Hmmm, so this boy's name was Ethan. He's not bad, he better not disappoint me.
It was then Ethan calmly yet respect my called out, "With all do respect miss, but could I make an enquiry to why you have asked us brothers to meet with you?"
Hmmm, slightly lacking though I'll let it slide. "Hmmm, you would like to know?"
"Of course!"
I couldn't see the two brother's expression or eyes as my back was turned to them, but I could hear from their voices that their were starting to become impatient. And as I heard his response, I was left disappointed.
The two have failed, their not compatible with the task. Neither of them have the mental ability to do the task of recharging the crystal.
Keith doesn't have patience, he's arrogant and rude.
Ethan is better than his brother but he lacks patience and the ability to suppress emotions.
These two brother's were simply not fit to do the task. This time I turned half my body while giving them a blank look, "you both have failed."
With that I refused to spend more precious time being there, so I began walking. Not stopping at all at their calls, it wasn't until I felt an energy come flying at me that I flipped back gracefully over the fireball that continued it's way before hitting the ground and causing a burn mark to form on the ground. I looked over at the three of them, Henry looked calm yet I could tell he was sweating as he told Keith to apologise.
So, it was Keith we had fired that. Since, I am feeling generous right now, I'll just let it go and see what they want.
Turning around, I start walking over to the three.
Once I got there, Henry began apologising but I just lifted my hand up to stop him. My face held a blank look while I raised my eyebrow at the two brother's, "what do you want?"
"We would like to know how we "failed" young miss."
"Tsk, I'll tell you if you can beat me."
"Huh?"
"You can come at me at the same time. Sadly, since I'm forbidden from using magic here, I'll just fight the two of you without it."
"Are you sure miss?"
"What. It's not like you two will be able to scratch me, so what are you waiting for? Come at me like you want to kill me."
The boys looked at each other, before nodding. Ethan came at me trying to land a punch to my face.
Wow, seriously this guy wasn't very nice. Doesn't he know that a girl's face is very precious to her? Oh, well I can't let this go now that he wanted to wreck my poor beautiful face.
So, as his fist got closer I slid to the right effectively dodging it, before quickly grabbing his extended wrist and flipping him to the floor with a bang.
I was calm as I let go of his wrist turning my attention to Keith, and just as I expected he had fired a large fireball in my direction, I was about to dodge it when I found that the place I stood at was covered with vines sprouting from the ground, wrapping themselves around my ankles. Effectively trapping me, I smirked, these brothers had good teamwork for their bad relationship, this was going to be fun.
As the fireball looked like it would hit me I conjured up Scarlett in her scythe form and with a wave of my hand I sliced the giant fireball in two, leaving it to burst to the left and right of me. Leaving me officially untouched.
It seemed that the boys didn't expect that from me and looked at me with shocked faces.
"H-how?"
"*sigh* is that really all you got. What a bore, and a complete waste of my time. Since I want to make things quick if you can manage to touch a single piece of my clothing then I'll tell you."
Without any other words I waited for the two's next attack. The ground then started to rumble and multiple thick vines came shooting out from the ground.
Hmm, not bad. Not bad at all.
I stood still as I watched the vines sprout front he ground at launch at me, without batting an eye, I spun Scarlett around me cutting all the vines within seconds. Not a single vine even got close to me as I rushed forward to the boys.
The next thing that happened was a large flame burst came from Keith, it was easy to dodge but since I knew that it wouldn't be all that simple I decided to go straight through by spinning Scarlett in front of me blocking the flames and letting me continue to rush at the boys. As I expected there were multiple thorn traps planted at either sides where if I dodged I would've certainly got captured and lost.
The brothers had done a good job fighting me but it's to bad, cause I hate losing. And just like that I rushed at them, before disappearing in a split second after which I appeared behind them with Scarlett's blade at both of their necks.
"You lose."
Everything was silent as I said those words, and even after I had retracted Scarlett and conjured up a portal to my room at the inn while bidding Henry farewell, the two brother's stood motionlessly at me not saying a single thing. I didn't care what they thought and just turned and left through the portal before falling down onto the bed and tiredly sleeping my nausea away.
I was to tired after today, I didn't even get to work on the device all that much.
ARGH! That means more work for me tomorrow, ah why...
