âAssistant Childs.â
Someone in the secretariesâ office suddenly shouted in a panic.
Everyone turned around to find Stacey standing in the doorway, holding crutches.
âPresident Lynch... has a girlfriend?â Stacey asked with difficulty.
She did not dare to believe it. She had only been resting for a few days, but Forrest already hada woman by his side?
âNo, we made it up.â The chief secretary hurriedly shook his head. âAssistant Childs, arenât you supposed to be resting at home?â
Stacey just wanted to look for Forrest for something.
However, when she heard their words, another thought appeared in her mind. âPresident Lynch granted me a few daysâ leave, but I have nothing to do at home these days, so I plan to come back to work. I can still work on paperwork.â The crowd looked at the cast on her foot and did not know what to say.
âWell... you can go ask the president, then.â A secretary smiled guiltily. He was a little speechless.
Stacey was already hurt but refused to rest at home. She came out to work instead. What if something bad happened? With the Childs familyâs character, what if they wanted the president to compensate them with another storefront?
No matter how rich the president was, he could not do that.
Stacey nodded and went into Forrestâs office on her crutches.
âCome in.â
The manâs low and cold voice rang out.
Stacey took a deep breath, opened the door, and limped in.
When Forrest looked up and saw the person who came in, consternation flashed in his eyes for a brief moment. Then, he got up and placed a chair in front of Stacey.
âThank you.â Stacey glanced nervously at the handsome face in front of her and really hated her parents.
If they had not acted on their own, she and Forrest would have been talking about marriage right now.
It would not be like this...
âAre you feeling better?â
Forrest asked casually.
Stacey was stunned at the question. Was she supposed to say yes or no? If she said yes, it would make it seem as if her injury was not serious. If she said no, what if Forrest did not let her come back to the company?
After thinking about it, Stacey did not answer the question. âPresident Lynch, Iâm here for this...â Stacey handed over the document in her hand. â This is too valuable, so I canât accept it. I didnât even know about my mother accepting these storefronts as compensation. She made the decision herself. Iâve even been quarreling with my parents over this in the past few days. What will others think of me if I accept the storefronts? I chose to save you. Besides, my parents arenât qualified to make decisions for me.â
