She tried to dash out the door barefoot without caring much about anything. She was not even bothered to search for her slippers as she rushed toward the door in her barefoot.

Chester entered the room, dressed in a light gray shirt and a pair of black casual pants. He was tall and graceful, and his face handsome and exquisite.

âItâs you?â Eliza instantly realized what had happened. âYouâre the one who brought me here. Whereâs Freya?â
âHave some breakfast.â Chester placed the tray on the television cabinet at the side.
Eliza grabbed hold of him, her eyes filled with agitation. âYou made her stay there, didnât you?â
âShe voluntarily stayed there. You have such a good buddy.â Chester fixed his eyes on the wrinkled part of his shirt that she was holding. His tone was indifferent. âYou should thank me. If I hadnât persuaded her to go over, you probably wouldâve lost your life.â
âB*stard, my affairs are none of your business. I had no intention to live from the moment I kidnapped Sarah. You shouldnât have dragged Freya into the mess.â Hating Chester to the core, Eliza turned around to dash out.
âWhere are you going?â Chester gripped onto her arm. âAre you going to look for Rodney? Donât worry. Freya didnât get arrested. The Snows are protecting her, so Rodney canât do anything to her.â
Eliza froze. Only then did she turn around and look a t Chester. âWhere is she now? Did Rodney hurt Freya after he saw how badly injured Sarah was?â
âEliza, youâre actually quite smart and calm. How could you have thought of doing such a ridiculous thing?â Chester raised his brows. His deep eyes were filled with curiosity.
â So Rodney actually hurt Freya, didnât he?â Eliza quickly grasped the hidden meaning behind his words.
Chesterâs lower lip twitched before he said nonchalantly, âRodney kicked her and injured one of her ribs. Ryan has since sent her to the hospital, where sheâs currently being treated. Having said that, this is the best outcomeâ¦â
âThis isnât the best outcome at all. Why did you drag her into the mess? Sheâs innocent.â Elizaâs eyes were bloodshot. She was no longer able to stay calm, seemingly like a little beast that was going to explode.
âChester Jewell, youâre such a busybody.â Chester snickered.
He then tightened his grip on her arm.
At one point, he had an overwhelming urge to do away with her.
âEliza, donât be ungrateful. Freya is Rodneyâs wife, and she has given birth to his child. However, he almost sent her to jail, seeing how badly injured Sarah was. If he had known that you were involved in the matter, he mightâve shot you dead on the spot.â
He exposed the truth mercilessly. âAnd let me remind you that youâre an artist under my company.
Youâve signed a contract for over ten advertisements and two television series. A movie shooting is also about to begin. If something happens to you, youâll have to bear a compensation of seven to eight hundred million dollars for the breach of contract.
