Let me go, Mr. Hill By Shallow South Chapter 2015 Shaun shook his head. âI can tell you that I intended to attack the day Sarah went to the airport. Her disappearance today has nothing to do with me.â
Chester believed him. âItâs obvious. If you had done something, you wouldâve expected Rodney to bring his men over for a search. Based on your character, you wouldâve carefully assigned people early on.
He wouldnât have had a chance to barge into the Hill familyâs manor.â
Shaun sighed. He smiled bitterly. âYou understand me best.â
It was unfortunate that Rodney understood Shaun less despite knowing him for so long.
âRodney understands you too, but⦠He always becomes irrational when it comes to matters that involve Sarah.â Chesterâs voice sounded helpless too.
âSay no more. Actually, thereâs already no more trust between Rodney and me, â Shaun said mockingly, âBut Iâm curious about who kidnapped Sarah.â
âMaybe she has other enemies she has offended.â Chester took a drag of the cigarette. âI did some investigation in the hospital. Hereâs what I think happened. At g:oo p.m. last night, someone disguised as a doctor examined Sarah. After that person went in, they knocked out Sarah and the caregiver.
Then, they tied Sarah outside the window and someone took Sarah away using a rope from the rooftop.â
Shaun was astonished. âWas there no commotion at all when Sarah and the caregiver were knocked out in the ward?â
âThatâs the weird thing.â Chester was thinking about it too. âHowever, the caregiver said Sarah went to sleep very early last night. I suspect that Sarah mustâve been knocked out beforehand, but Iâm not sure how that happened.â
âMaybe someone tampered with her medications or everyday items.â Shaun guessed. âThe person who did it was quite meticulous too. I donât know whether the motive is to kidnap or get revenge on Sarah. If it was for revenge, Sarah might not even be alive now.â
âDonât worry. Since she went missing in my hospital, Iâ ll investigate this thoroughly for you.
Rodney wonât be able to blame you even if he files a police report.â
At the hospital, Chester put down his phone. He stood in front of the window, looking at the sky that was starting to turn bright.
Not long after, his subordinate came in. âYoung Master Jewell, Iâve asked that caregiver. Sarah said she was tired very early last night. But for the past few days, Sarahâs wounds would hurt and she would only sleep at 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. She was most probably drugged. However, thereâs no problem with Sarahâs IV drip yesterday. Her meals were arranged by Young Master Snow. The caregiver also said that Sarah had an upset stomach last night and did not eat much. The only possibility would beâ¦â
Chester raised his eyebrows. âGo on.â
His subordinate walked to Chesterâs front and spoke in a low voice, âThe toothpaste. I squeezed some of Sarahâs toothpaste and did a test. There are traces of drugs in it. Itâs a drug thatâll make people drowsy even if only a little of it comes into contact with the mouth cavity.â
Chesterâs pupils constricted. He recalled something all of a sudden. He had brought Eliza to Sarahâs ward yesterday. Eliza had gone to the bathroom too. Therefore, it was very possible that she tampered with the toothpaste.
He pulled his subordinate over. âWhereâs that toothpaste?â
âItâs still in the bathroom. But itâs likely that only the front bit of the toothpaste has been tampered with.
If we donât say anything, Young Master Snow wonât find out about it,â the subordinate said carefully. âI remember your words. If it was Young Master Hill who did this, we should erase as much evidence as possible stealthily. Therefore, I didnât inform Young Master Snow anything.â
âDonât say a word about this anymore.â Chester asked in a low voice, âWho has gone into Sarahâs ward yesterday?â
âNot many. Just Rodney, the caregiver, Cindy, Miss Eliza, and youâ¦â After the subordinate spoke, his gaze became different.
âIs there any progress on Rodneyâs side?â Chester asked all of a sudden.
âYes. Snowdenâs people acquired the hospitalâs security footage at dawn. Sarah was taken away through the rooftop. As long as a suspicious person is found entering the rooftop at that hour, it wonât take long for them to find the culprit, â the subordinate said. âThe other party definitely took Sarah away in a car. If the car can be found, itâll be easy to investigate this matter.â
