BREE
This is a bad idea.
And thatâs coming from me. The queen of troublemaking.
The king is my brother.
Anyways, you know there is always a troublemaker in a friendship and a mother who makes sure her child doesnât get into trouble.
Iâm the child.
Rose is the mother.
But I donât know what came on her tonight but she had a very troublemaking idea.
It even makes me panic.
I should've pushed harder and asked her about the âplanâ before I agreed to follow her. But then again, Rose stays out of trouble!
âRose, we shouldnât do this.â I say as Rose pulls out a bag from the backseat.
âYes, we should. No one breaks my best friendâs heart and expects no harm in return.â
Okay, seriously, what has gotten into her?
I grab her arm and make her look at me, âitâs not worth it. Letâs just go.â
âHe cheated on you, Bree. I am not letting that asshole live with his pride.â
âShattering his car is too much. He loves that thing.â
âAnd I love you. He hurt you and I am not holding back.â
I suppress a groan as she walks towards Jayâs car.
We're right outside Jay's house. Luckily for Rose, Jay didn't park his car in the garage tonight. The roads are dark and empty but the moment Rose hits the car..
âRose, go back to your motherly self. The one who hates getting in trouble.â I say.
âI will.â She takes out a metal rod from her bag, âAfter Iâm done with this.â She raises the rod in the air before she swings it and hits the window with all her force.
Sirens from the car start blasting in the neighborhood.
I expect Rose to throw away the rod and run but that is not what happens.
Instead, she moves on to the next window.
âOh, my God-â
âWhat is going on- hey!â
My body goes rigid when I spot Jay come out of his house, dressed in sweats. It shows that he ran out of bed.
My heart ties a knot when a brunette girl walks behind him, dressed in Jayâs sweatshirt which is big on her just like it was on me. Her straight hair falls on her shoulder as she watches Rose break Jayâs car windows and Jay yelling.
Youâre the only one for me, babe.
My blood boils at his lie.
Better take this chance.
I grab another rod from the bag and join Rose in breaking his windshield, windows and denting his car.
Jay stops yelling as he runs into the house with his new girlfriend.
Our mischievousness come to a halt as a new siren sounds in the neighborhood.
Police.
Rose and I exchange a glance.
Uh-oh

âSo, who are we calling?â I ask as soon as the officer locks the metal door.
Turns out, Jay called the police and they were quick to come and arrest us. Still, it was worth it. Watching Jay freak out was good.
âI donât know.â Rose says, âdad is on a business trip so we canât call him.â
âthen Jack?â
âHeâs probably sleeping after shagging.â
Both me and Rose shiver at the statement.
âEw, Rose.â I say, making a face.
âSorry.â She sighs, âWe have to call Ryan.â
I groan and rest my head against the wall, âI donât want to call Ryan. Heâll come with his scowl plastered face.â
I can already imagine how he will look when he finds out we shattered someoneâs car windows.
âIs there a chance Henry can come?â I ask, staring at the ceiling.
âNo.â
I release a sigh and the room falls silent.
Suddenly, Rose laughs.
I look at her, âwhat?â
âI canât believe I got arrested.â She laughs, âme. Miss goodie two shoes.â
Rose and I look at each other then bursts out laughing, holding onto each other so we don't fall.
âOh, my God.â I wipe the tear from the corner of my eye, âweâre in jail.â
Rose chuckles, resting her head on the wall, âI donât regret it.â
âYou will, tomorrow.â
âNope.â She smiles, âthe bastard deserved it.â She looks at me, âno one messes with my best friend.â
âAww,â I interlock my arm with hers and rest my head on her shoulder, âI love you.â
âI love you too,â she pats my arm, âbut seriously, call Ryan.â

âMay I ask what you were thinking?â Ryan asks as soon as we exit the station.
Ryan didnât ask any questions when I called him, he only asked where he has to come and I told him the location. He was fast. But he didnât come alone. He came with Finn.
Thanks to my billionaire brother, we wonât get in more trouble for what we did but I know better to expect investigation from him.
âWe-â
âit was my idea.â Rose cuts me off.
My brotherâs emotionless gaze shifts from me to my best friend. While my brother has no expression on his face, Finnâs mouth hangs open.
âIt was your idea?â Finn asks, his face tells he never expected this from Rose.
Same.
âYeah. So?â
âYouâre a rule follower. Youâre Miss goodie two shoes!â
âNot always.â
âThen what were you thinking?â Ryan repeats the question to Rose.
âRevenge.â Is all Rose says before she starts to walk towards the car. My brotherâs gaze follows her as a muscle in his jaw ticks.
Is that⦠a reaction?
I shake my head internally. Iâm going insane.
âTowards what?â Finn asks but no one answers him. Ryan barely glances at his direction and goes after Rose.
He wonât stop asking question.
âPeople need to stop ignoring my questions.â
âPeople? Or my brother?â I ask.
âWhatever you think is appropriate. I didnât say anything.â Finn shrugs.
The corner of my lips lift up.
âYou okay?â
I look up at Finn, his eyes filled with concern.
I nod, âyeah. Iâm good.â I force myself to give him a reassuring smile.
Finnâs eyes trail my face as if someone would touch you to check whether or not youâre hurt.
But heâs not touching me.
He wouldnât dare, Ryan will kill him.
The thought itself makes me want to sigh but I suppress it.
He opens his mouth to say but quickly shuts it.
It almost makes me disappointed.
"Um, by the way.." I start, looking down at my shoes, "thanks for last night.. I'm sorry about that."
"Oh. Don't worry about it."
I look up at him, "did you tell Ryan?"
"No." He says, "should I?"
"No!" I quickly say then cover my mouth, looking at Ryan, thinking he heard but he's busy interrogating Rose.
Finn chuckles, I look at him, "don't worry, I won't tell him." He says, a small smile on his lips.
I stare at it too long. It's so beautiful.
Before my heart tells me to do something else, I walk towards the car where Ryan is asking a question but Rose is ignoring him.
Youâre brave, girl.
âhi, Bree.â Rose smiles at me and my brotherâs jaw hardens.
âHey, letâs go home.â
