Chapter 63 The Villa In Dragon Bay Mandy already seemed glamorous and imposing in a long, black dress. The entourage of ten black-
clad bodyguards trailing behind her merely added to her intimidating aura.
She was currently in charge of the Langdon familyâs branch office in Jadeborough and had come to host the opening of the third-phase development at Dragon Bay.
Since arriving in Jadeborough, she had kept a close eye on Finnegan, hoping for an opportunity to approach him.
As luck would have it, Mandy received word that Finnegan had shown up at Dragon Bay.
Mandy was understandably in a foul mood when she noticed her employees treating Finnegan disrespectfully.
âMs. Langdon,â the salesperson greeted Mandy courteously, apparently unaware of the look on her superiorâs face. More accurately, the salesperson might have mistaken Mandyâs expression as anger toward Finneganâs family. âTheyâre not here to buy a house. They even hit a client who paid an option fee on one of the properties. I-â
Slap!
âYouâre fired!â Mandy promptly stepped forward and slapped the salesperson.
What?
The salesperson was flabbergasted. Qahira and the others went wide-eyed in shock.
This doesnât seem right! Shouldnât she be punishing Finnegan and his family?
Confused, the salesperson asked, âDid I do something wrong, Ms. Langdon? I brought client to view the property, but this person-â
Mandy slapped the salesperson again and barked, âI said, youâre fired!â
Two consecutive slaps effectively shut the salesperson up. She covered her throbbing cheek with her hand as her eyes welled up with tears.
Mandyâs assertive behavior also frightened Raymond and his family into silence.
Still, Qahira refused to let Finnegan off the hook for his behavior. She piped up, âHello, Miss. You must be the boss. I need to explain something. Weâre legitimate clients whoâve paid an option fee for this property. They came here to cause trouble and even hit us. You should be teaching them a lesson!
Weâre the real clients here!â
âClients?â Mandy, who had an inkling of the situation, glared at Qahira.
Nervously, Qahira replied, âThatâs right. Weâre prospective clients of Dragon Bay. We suffered harm on your premises, so you should stand up for us.â
âWell then, you are no longer our clients. Weâll return your option fee shortly.â
Huh?
Her response was beyond everyoneâs imagination, especially Qahiraâs.
After she composed herself, she shrieked, âWhy? We didnât do anything wrong!â
Mandy lowered her head slightly and declared, âBecause of your foolishness. You offended the esteemed resident of Dragon Bayâs mansion estate.â
âResident? Mansion estate?â Qahira struggled to connect the dots.
Mandy shot Qahira a disgusted glare before approaching Finnegan.
Under everyoneâs shocked stares, Mandy bowed to Finnegan and apologized, âDoctor-I mean, Mr.
Larkin, Iâm sorry that you had such an unpleasant experience during your first visit to Dragon Bay. Iâd like to apologize to you on behalf of the company!â
Whatâs happening? Why is Dragon Bayâs management acting so respectfully toward Finnegan? A mansion estate resident? Who is she talking about?
Raymond and his family were stunned as they struggled to wrap their heads around the situation.
Finnegan scrunched his brows, displeased by the amount of attention he was getting due to Mandyâs behavior. Still, he knew Mandy was only trying to protect him. âYes, the experience was unpleasant, and I hope it wonât happen again.â
Then, he grabbed the car keys from Rhiannonâs hands and tossed them to Mandy. âOur car is parked outside. Please get someone to drive it here for us.â
After giving his instructions, Finnegan promptly wheeled Desmond toward the entrance of the mansion estate. Rhiannon quickly followed after him, dragging a dumbfounded Quiana behind her.
Everyone watched as Finnegan produced an access card and swiped it across the card reader at the entrance.
The machine beeped, and a sweet, feminine voice rang out.
âWelcome home, esteemed resident of Dragon Bayâs No. 1 Villa!â
The crowd instantly fell into silence.
Fear gradually replaced the confusion in the salespersonâs eyes. She stormed toward Qahira and screeched, âD*mn it! Didnât you say they were so poor they couldnât even afford the deposit? Youâre going to pay for this!â
The resident of Dragon Bayâs No. 1 Villa was no small character.
Mandy frowned and ordered, âThrow them out and drive Mr. Larkinâs car here.â
Her ten bodyguards stepped forward and seized Raymond and his family.
Qahira shrieked, âWhat are you doing? Weâre clients of Dragon Bay. You canât do this to us!â
Her shouts were to no avail. The bodyguards forcefully dragged them into several buggies that had arrived and shuttled them toward the main entrance of Dragon Bay.
Afterward, Mandy turned around and looked at Finneganâs family. She arched a brow and muttered, âI guess this was the opportunity that Grandpa mentioned.â
Raymond and his family were unceremoniously kicked out of Dragon Bay amid indignant grumbles.
âWhat are you doing? How can Finneganâs family own Dragon Bayâs No. 1 Villa? You must be mistaken.â
âDragon Bayâs No. 1 Villa belongs to Mr. Miles. How can it belong to Finneganâs family?â
âFinnegan mustâve picked up the access card on the road. Heâs just pretending to own the property!â
The bodyguards who threw Raymondâs family out could not be bothered to clarify the situation. They reminded the security guards at the main entrance to forbid Raymond and his family from entering the premises. Then, one of them got into Rhiannonâs car and drove it back into the estate.
Ximena, who was still ranting about the injustice of it all, went slack-jawed when she saw Rhiannonâs car. âDidnât Finnegan return that car?â
The car was none other than the top-spec Porsche that Finnegan had ordered while she and Yosef were out car shopping.
Back then, Ximena had assumed Finnegan was placing a fake order for the car and had probably returned it with Lindseyâs help later on.
Qahira asked bitterly, âIsnât it the same as the car that Yosef bought for you?â
Ximena replied awkwardly, âMom, itâs the same model, but ours is a base-spec model, while that car is a top-spec model. The price of his car is triple of mine! More importantly, Finnegan paid for it in full.â
What?
Qahira looked at the car as she mumbled, âDid that jerk Finnegan really make a fortune?â
âWelcome home, Mr. Larkin!â
Over ten household staff formed two neat lines, greeting Finnegan as he led his family through the garden of Dragon Bayâs No. 1 Villa. The property spanned over three thousand square meters and came with a private beach.
The scene and treatment struck Desmond, Quiana, and Rhiannon dumb.
Rhiannonâs hands were shaking as she tugged on Finneganâs arm and asked, âFinn, are you sure the Miles family sold Dragon Bayâs No. 1 Villa to you? Rumors say it costs over a billion!â
The sum that came out of Rhiannonâs mouth stunned Desmond and Quiana.
Desmond asked anxiously, âWhatâs going on, Finny? Did Mr. Miles really sell this place to you? Where did your money come from?â
Quiana grabbed Finneganâs hand and asked, âFinny, be honest with me. Where did your money come from? Is this mansion really yours? Did he really sell this mansion to you at a low price because you treated his illness?â
The couple had come from humble backgrounds and made a modest living.
They could not fathom or accept the windfall that had apparently landed in their laps, nor did they believe that the Miles family would sell the villa to Finnegan at an absurdly low price.
Moreover, they could not conceive the idea of Finnegan affording a villa with his income from seeing patients.
While Finnegan had expected a big reaction from his parents, their present disbelief was beyond his expectations.
He explained patiently, âMom, Dad, Mr. Miles really transferred this property, Dragon Bayâs No. 1 Villa, to me to thank me for curing his illness. There was no shady business involved in this, I promise.â
Despite his reassurances, his parents were still overwhelmed by Finneganâs sudden wealth.
Quiana pulled Finneganâs hand and suggested, âI think weâd better not live here, Finny. Letâs go.â
