Everyone was shocked as no one had expected Finnegan to be such a good fighter. After their companion was defeated, the other three thugs became warier of Finnegan and faltered in their steps.
However, as fights and violence were commonplace for them, they charged toward Finnegan after just a brief moment of hesitation and launched kicks and punches at the man. Finnegan managed to dodge their attacks while striking one of the thugs on his shoulder. A snapping sound could be heard before an agonized shriek from the thug pierced the air. He retreated at once, holding his swollen shoulder with one hand. Immediately after, Finnegan turned around and grabbed the other two thugs by their arms, smashing them against each other. The two men collapsed on the ground in excruciating pain, feeling as though all the bones in their bodies had shattered. The others were dumbfounded. It was as exhilarating as watching a scene from an action movie. Rhiannon clapped excitedly and exclaimed, âFinn, youâre so cool! You should teach them a good lesson!â Python was in a befuddled state and thought about backing out. However, it would be way too humiliating for him to throw in the towel with so many people watching. He turned around and shouted at his remaining four subordinates, âGet the weapons!â The few men immediately dashed toward their van and took out machetes and clubs. When Quiana saw that, she trembled in fear. âFinny, run!â âRun? Fat chance!â Python said in an intimidating tone. With weapons in their hands, the four thugs could feel their confidence surging as they charged toward Finnegan. The thug who was at the forefront lifted his club and swung it at Finnegan, but the next moment, he felt a sharp pain in his wrist. Finnegan had snatched the club from him and struck his head with it. The man cried out in agony as blood flowed out from his wound. He stepped back at once but stumbled and fell. Finnegan turned toward the other three thugs and hit the weapons out of their hands with the club. The impact of the attack was so powerful that the menâs purlicues tore, and their hands went numb. Straight after, Finnegan dealt another forceful blow to their legs, fracturing their fibulas instantly. The three thugs cradled their legs in pain while rolling on the ground. A shiver ran down Pythonâs spine as he staggered and fell backward. âDonât come any nearer. My boss is Leo, Mr.
Calandrinoâs right-hand man.â When the onlookers heard Tyrone Calandrinoâs name, their faces paled.
Quiana stepped forward and grabbed Finnegan while saying, âStop fighting. Mr. Calandrino isnât someone we can afford to offend!â Everyone in Jadeborough knew Tyrone ruled over the underground circles. Finnegan had intended to cripple Python and his lackeys, but he changed his mind after noticing the worried expressions on the faces of his parents and sister. He tossed the club to the ground and said, âGet Killian to come here himself if he wants to tear down my house. Now, get lost!â
Letting out a sigh of relief, Python and the other thugs supported each other and hurried away from the Larkin residence. Tears streamed down Quianaâs cheeks as she said to Finnegan, âQuickly pack up and leave. If Killian finds out that youâre back, he will certainly come for you.â âMom, Iâm not going to leave. I donât care if Killian comes here. Itâs time for us to settle some scores anyway!â Needless to say, Quiana did not want her son, who had finally returned home, to leave again. Wiping her tears, she said, âLetâs forget about the compensation for the relocation. Maybe Killian will forgive you for injuring him back then if we do that.â Both Desmond and Rhiannon sighed and nodded in agreement. Finnegan knew that it wouldnât be easy to convince his parents, as they were honest people who were conventional in their thinking. He could only comfort them by saying, âMom, Dad, everything will be fine. Donât worry.â With much persuasion, Desmond finally agreed to let Finnegan treat his leg after dinner, albeit somewhat reluctantly. Before starting the procedure, Finnegan performed acupuncture anesthesia on his father, rendering him immune to pain. Then, he used a technique written in Primordial Pharmacopoeia to reconnect the broken bones in the old manâs body. After the bones were joined together again, the next step was to treat his damaged meridians. With the herbs delivered by Patrick, it would take at most a month for Desmond to completely regain his mobility. Quiana and Rhiannon, who were watching from the side, noticed a red glow emitting from Finneganâs hand during the treatment process. Meanwhile, the parts of Desmondâs skin where Finnegan had touched had reddened. The area on his leg that was previously sunken was also bulging. Hope arose in the hearts of the two women when they saw that. Finnegan finally ended the procedure two hours later, drenched in sweat. He had successfully reconnected a portion of Desmondâs broken bones. While applying a herbal liquid medicine to Desmondâs body, Finnegan said, âDad, I will be able to fix all your broken bones after two more treatment sessions. When I get my hands on the other herbs, I will concoct a balm that aids in the growth of bone tissues. If you apply that balm, it will take you only ten days to stand up again. Iâm confident that you wonât need more than a month to make a complete recovery.â
Clearly feeling the difference in his body, Desmond perked up as he replied, âFinny, did you really learn your skills from a medical expert? Can you really help me stand up again?â He had been pretending not to be bothered by his disability in front of his family, as he did not want to burden them. However, deep down, he had been desiring to stand up again. With a smile, Finnegan replied, âDad, when have I ever lied to you?â âOkay, I will be looking forward to that day. If you manage to find a job and a wife as well, our family will be complete.â âDad, Finn can easily open a clinic with his superior medical skills. As for getting a wife, I can help with that,â Rhiannon said playfully. Finnegan had indeed thought about opening a clinic upon his return. However, he had absolutely no intention of getting married yet.
Without giving her son a chance to speak, Quiana asked in delight, âRhia, who do you have in mind?â
âSheâs a senior of mine. I have mentioned Finn to her a couple of times, and she has expressed her interest in him. She even asked me to introduce him to her when he comes back. If Finn has no objections, I can arrange for them to meet this Saturday!â âIâm sure he wonât object to it,â Quiana replied happily at once. However, at the same time, she could not help but feel worried. âBut your brother didnât even attend college. He doesnât have much money either. Do you think sheâll like him?â Finnegan was speechless. Arenât they gonna ask me what I think about this? Besides, did I say I donât have money?
The truth was, he had already accumulated more than a billion in his savings account by treating patients over the past few years. âGet over here right now, Finnegan!â Just as Finnegan was about to raise his objections, Python, whose mouth was still swollen and had his head wrapped in a bandage, charged into the house with more than a dozen other men. Another thirty to forty of his subordinates were standing outside the house, armed with machetes and clubs. Quiana said in a panic, âQuick! Find somewhere and hide. Theyâre here for you!â âCalm down. Iâve got this.â After reassuring his mother, Finnegan headed out. Python glared at Finnegan with hatred in his eyes and said, âYou little shit, I will consider letting you off if you transfer the ownership of your house to me unconditionally and let me sleep with your sister for a few days.â Murderous intent arose within Finnegan. How dare he come back here and have designs on Rhia! He glanced back at his parents and sister, who were waiting inside the house, and saw how anxious they looked. Not wanting to show them the ruthless side of him, he said to Python, âYouâre disturbing my family. Letâs talk outside!â Python had brought along almost sixty men with him and was feeling extremely confident. âSure. This courtyard is too small for us to fight anyway, but donât you dare play any tricks. Get out here at once!â âFinny!â Desmond and Quiana exclaimed in concern when they saw that Finnegan was about to head outside with the thugs. âDonât worry. Iâll be back very soon. Rhia, take care of Mom and Dad.â The moment Finnegan stepped out of the house, his phone rang. âHello, is this Mr. Larkin? Iâm Alisha Wahlstrom, Theoden Wahlstromâs granddaughter.
Iâm already in Jadeborough. Are you free to meet now?â A womanâs sensual voice sounded on the other end of the line. The corners of Finneganâs mouth curled into a smirk as he replied, âIâm afraid not.
Some guys from the underground circles are finding trouble with me now.â âWhat?â The womanâs voice turned cold at once. âWhere are you now? Iâll head over.â âOcean District, Wharf Street.â âIâll be there in ten minutes!â Finnegan nodded. âYouâd better hurry if you donât want to lose the chance to show off your skills!â
