Chapter 136 Dig His Own Grave âWhat are you doing? Youâre not healed yet! This is the medicine Mr. Larkin asked you to take.â
At the first light of dawn, Finnegan, who had stayed in the courtyard of the Wahlstrom residence, was awakened by the commotion.
After putting his clothes on, he went outside, only to see the cold young man holding a black blade departing.
The efforts of some of the Wahlstroms in persuading him proved to be futile.
At this moment, Alisha came out of her room.
With a frown, she asked, âThis is the person you saved, Finnegan? How ungrateful. Heâs leaving without even thanking you.â
The cold young man turned to look at Finnegan.
His expression had softened significantly, and the fierceness in his eyes had diminished.
âCome inside,â said Finnegan as he received the medicine before going back to his room.
After hesitating for a while, the cold young man clutched his blade and followed Finnegan into the room.
âYouâve only recovered a bit. Take this first.â
The young man stepped forward and grabbed the medicine, swallowing everything in one go.
Alishaâs lips quirked up. âWeirdo!â
He had refused everyone else when they had offered him medicine. He had wanted to leave.
Yet, Finneganâs short sentence was sufficient enough to stop him from leaving, and he even took the medicine.
âGet out.â
Finnegan waved at Alisha.
This b*stard!
Alisha stepped outside grumpily.
âLetâs talk. Have a seat,â said Finnegan as he pointed at the chair beside him.
However, the young man remained standing, having no intention to sit at all.
Finnegan smiled and did not force the young man. âJudging by your injury, it seems you were pursued by a group of fighters, and I think one of them is a Terra Realm Grandmaster. Care to share what happened?â
The young man shook his head.
âThen can I ask where youâre from, your background, and who your mentor is?â
The young man shook his head once again.

O <
Finnegan was rendered speechless, realizing that the young man was even less talkative than he thought.
In fact, he did not speak at all.
Even so, Finnegan did not force him to speak. âAll right, I wonât force you, but you donât need to be in a rush to leave. After my treatment, you need at least two days to recover. You can stay here. No one will disturb you.â
With that said, Finnegan stood up.
Since he could not extract information, he would just consider this as him building rapport.
âMy name is Doom Star,â the young man suddenly said when Finnegan neared the door.
Finnegan looked back. âDoom Star?â
âYes, Doom Star,â the young man confirmed.
Upon hearing him, Finnegan looked Doom Star up and down.
He indeed seemed to be without parents, bearing the fate of a doom star.
The corner of Finneganâs mouth curved up. âYou lost your mother at birth and your father at the age of one. Your grandparents were in an accident when you were nearly two years old. Youâre indeed a doom star. However⦠at least the person who has been taking care of you for over twenty years is still alive, so donât worry about bringing bad luck to me. Just rest well. You can leave once youâve recovered.â
After saying that, Finnegan went out and said to Alisha, âCome have coffee with me.â
Doom Star trembled as he stared at Finneganâs figure.
A hint of curiosity appeared in his icy eyes. âHow does he know all that?â
After arriving at a nearby café, Alisha asked for a private room.
Finnegan ordered some dishes and then handed the menu back to the server.
âThe match between the Wahlstrom family and the Zymons family is just around the corner. Do you have the confidence to win?â
Alisha poured a cup of coffee for Finnegan and leaned closer to him on purpose. âEverything has been arranged. We have two Terra Realm Grandmasters, while the Zymons family has Enigma Realm fighters at most.â
âTwo Terra Realm Grandmasters?â
As far as I know, the Wahlstrom family has only one Terra Realm Grandmaster, which is Spencer, one of the Five Unparalleled as well as Helmuthâs disciple.
Alisha blinked. âWeâve borrowed Zakaria from the Langdon family. Heâs a Terra Realm Grandmaster in Preliminary Rank. Thereâs no rule about seeking help, anyway.â
Nodding, Finnegan advised, âI see. Still, you shouldnât underestimate the other party. Since they have the guts to accept the challenge, it means they have a means of countering Spencer.â
âMy grandpa said the same thing, so he has been thinking of a way to invite a Terra Realm Grandmaster |||
O In Absolute Rank.
Finnegan hummed in response and said nothing more.
He was not interested in this underground world conflict. He only asked about it because of his involvement with the Wahlstrom family.
Soon, the dishes were served.
Beside him, Alisha behaved like a wife, exuding grace and charm.
Even though Finnegan tried to calm himself down, his heart kept beating.
Noticing the change in the man, Alisha smiled slyly and leaned closer to his ear. âDo you want me to lock the door and lie on the table?â
Finnegan cleared his throat and quickly moved to the side.
âI donât like women older than me.â
Alisha rolled her eyes. âBernice is two years older than you, you hypocrite.â
Ignoring her, Finnegan picked up his cup and took a sip.
When he placed the cup down, his phone rang. It was a call from Jerome., As Jerome was calling him before eight, Finnegan couldnât help furrowing his brows.
Did something happen again?
Upon accepting the call, he heard Jeromeâs frantic voice from the other side of the line. âMaster, something happened to the clinic again. Everythingâs smashed!â
Clank!
Finnegan stood up, shattering the chair. âIs it Solomon again?â
âThere are no notes this time, but itâs definitely him!â Jerome responded.
âIâll be right there.â
âWhat now?â Alisha asked with a frown.
âMr. Magnussen said the clinic was thrashed again. It seems I underestimated Solomonâs vengefulness. I didnât expect him to strike back this quickly.â
âD*mn it!â Alisha got to her feet. âIâll go meet him now.â
Pulling Alisha, Finnegan stated, âHeâs learned his lesson. He didnât leave any note this time, so itâs pointless for you to find him. Besides, your families are about to have a big match. He might not be lenient toward you like he did back in the restaurant.â
âBut who else would do something like this if not him?â
âDonât concern yourself with it. Iâll go have a look. You can get back to your business.â
|||
âHeâs indeed Sethâs son,â Theoden said in a deep voice. âItâs one trick after another.â
âFinnegan said I shouldnât bother with it, but should we really do that?â
Theoden sneered, âIf Solomon wants to cause trouble for the whole Zymons family, then why should we get in the way? Let him! Weâll just act as if we donât know.â
Thinking about Finneganâs connections, Alisha grasped Theodenâs meaning. âWeâll let Solomon think Finnegan has weak connections and let him dig his own grave?â
âCorrect.â
