Chapter 841 Caught Off Guard Samuel clutched his chest and involuntarily frowned.
He pursed his lips tightly as his gaze darkened. Justin watched his expression warily, clueless about what was going on in his friendâs mind.
Justin said, âI really didnât do it on purpose, Samuel.â
âI know,â Samuel replied lightly while staring at Justin.
Still uneasy, Justin asked, âAre you really okay? What happened just now, Samuel? Itâs so weird! Why didnât you dodge my punch earlier?â
âI couldnât be bothered to evade it.â Samuelâs tone remained nonchalant as though the punch had scarcely affected him.
âThat makes sense now!â Justin was immensely relieved by his reply. âBased on your abilities, you wouldâve expected my punch.â
âYes.â
âThatâs great! Well, Iâm going to arrange for lunch now.â Justin turned around and headed to a restaurant to order their lunch.
Once he was safely out of Justinâs sight, Samuel clutched his chest again. Several coughs racked his body, and he was shocked to taste blood near his throat.
It turned out that he had been lying to Justin all along.
He had not sensed his friendâs punch, so he could not react in time to evade the attack.
What the heck happened?
Samuelâs eyes narrowed in thought.
Slowly, he lifted his hand and clenched his fist. He tried to feel the energy around his joints and muscles, and he came to the sinking realization that his strength was gradually ebbing away.
How could this happen? Natalie had already administered the antidote. It shouldâve neutralized the accelerated-aging poison in my body. Iâve been resting all this while too, so I shouldnât feel this way.
Suddenly, a frightening thought crossed Samuelâs mind.
What if itâs because of something else?
Several days later, Natalie went shopping with Yana.
Her pregnant belly was even more obvious now, though her waist still appeared slim from behind.
Yana grew even more radiant as her pregnancy progressed.
Her simple get-up failed to conceal her brimming motherly sentiment.
She immediately clasped Natalieâs hand and exclaimed, âWe havenât seen each other in forever, Natalie!â
âExactly!â Natalie smiled and added, âThatâs why I came once you invited me.â
âThatâs great!â
Natalie accompanied Yana as the latter browsed the childrenâs section.
Every piece of clothing and toy caught Yanaâs fancy, and she went on a massive shopping spree in the store.
By the time she was done shopping, Yana was exhausted, so the two of them decided to grab a meal at a nearby restaurant.
âHave you and Hans thought of the babyâs name, Yana?â asked Natalie.
âNot yet.â Yana shook her head and lamented, âMy dad and Hansâ dad have been debating names for the past two days. Itâs a close competition, and thereâs no clear winner in sight.â
âWell, whose suggestion do you like better?â
Yana could not help but rub her temples when she heard Natalieâs question. âIs âneitherâ an option? My dadâs keen on picking a name from The Republic, while my father-in-law is eyeing Shakespeareâs Sonnets. Their argument has gone beyond the babyâs name to the literary significance of the works. I donât know how these two old men have the energy to argue until theyâre both red in the face.â
She immediately burst into laughter after finishing her sentence.
Natalie could not help but join in when she imagined their fight.
Yana and Hansâ long-awaited second child was already the apple of the Weiss and Becker families before it was even born.
After Yana updated Natalie on her situation, she asked, âEnough about me. Whatâs going on with you and Samuel? When is he going to marry my sister?â
