Chapter 14: Chapter 12 | 🐚

Tuesday

Coming in from the outside breeze, Jisung shook off his running trainers from water and set them down by the door. He hurried up stairs and changed back out of his clothes into something a bit nicer on the figure. Once changed, the blond found his phone and dialled Felix's number right away, all while brushing through his hair and trying to do up his face.

Ringing Lil Lixue...

Lixue:

Hey Jisung

JiJi:

Good you're up

Lixue:

Yeah, why?

JiJi:

See you in a sec, get dressed

in something nice

Lixue:

Ji what-

Call ended

————————————————————

Satisfied, Jisung continued to get prepared to go to Felix's house. He had everything figured out to a tee in his mind; take the younger to his favourite cafe, talk out the issue of their feelings in a comforting environment and then reunite as friends again! Jisung was convinced it would all go according to plan. Well, it had to, there was no other option for the blond other than to admit defeat and swim

back to Malaysia.

Jisung arrived at Felix's and rang the bell, pulling at his hair whilst he awaited the door being opened. Shortly after Felix was there, showing a nervous smile as he looked down at the blond. He was fitted in a white t-shirt that was tucked into his belted black jeans, an otherwise boring outfit if it wasn't for the multicoloured jacket he'd thrown over top. From the looks of it he'd also waved his snowy white hair, the locks flowing in slightly curled strands across his forehead. Overall he seemed a lot better since Jisung last saw him. The shadows on his face were gone and his natural colour returned, though he still appeared a little tired.

"Hey Ji."

"Sup Lix, come on, we

gotta get going."

"Going where?"

"To town of course,

where else."

Felix was uneasy about this whole thing, but agreed when Jisung chose to recite the entirety of his plan. "That's sweet Jisung, but you don't have to." The blond sighed as the two wandered to the train station, packing themselves onto the crowded metro.

"What did I tell you, Felix? I'm going to help you heal and get over me, and that's a promise." The younger didn't really know how to reply, but a smile formed on his steadily blushing face.

Together they took the train to the main town, with Felix trailing behind Jisung as they weaved their way down the crowded streets. The snowy haired boy's eyes lit up when they got to their destination, his all time favorite cafe. It sold only the best brownies the boys had ever tasted, though they had always joked about one day snatching that title with their own recipe.

"Come on, let's get inside and cop a good seat." Jisung dragged the younger towards the entrance, finding themselves in the familiarly busy but homely bakery. They sat down, ordered the brownies (of course) as well as some fruity drinks. When they came, Jisung was the one to start up the anticipated conversation.

"So, firstly, is there anything

you need to know the answer to?"

"Yes, why are we making

this overly formal?"

"Oh come on Lix, I really want to

help you. I need to know what you

need me to do though."

Felix chewed his brownie and side eyed the older. He didn't really know what Jisung could do, since his feelings weren't something that were going to poof away in a puff of smoke. Yes the younger wanted to move on, but how he would get there was unknown.

"I dunno, I mean, personally I would love to know who you like," Felix paused and caught Jisung's shifting glance, "but I assume you aren't going to tell me."

"It's not that, I won't," the blond started with uncertainty, "but that's not the focus, this is meant to be about you." Jisung jabbed his finger into the younger's cheek as he said this, grinning as he got a laugh out of him. He'd missed Felix's sunshine energy, so to hear that healing sound of his laughter was motivating.

"Okay so, you don't feel weird with me, y'know.. liking you?" The blond contemplated this, but afterwards only gave a shrug.

"Not really, I mean who wouldn't love me~" Felix choked on his brownie as he simultaneously laughed and swallowed, sending the older into a fit of giggles too. "But I can't judge you for how you feel when it's out of your control."

For a moment the younger didn't respond with anything, but rather sat and munched his brownies. Jisung was beginning to regret saying anything, but then Felix said, "so I guess I can judge you for not feeling anything either, it's not like I can force you to like me." The blond nodded, setting his drink down and twisting his body round so he was facing his friend.

"Exactly, but what we can do is keep the friendship that we have. As much as I don't

feel anything towards you in a romantic

sense, I can't damn function in life

without my best friend."

"So what you're saying is..

it's best if you friendzone me?"

"If it sounds better that way,

then yes."

"What if it sounds worse?"

"For god's sake Felix-"

The next number of minutes was filled with some deep conversations, but mainly just laughter and trying to go back to when Jisung and Felix were nothing more than old squirrel friends. This included reminiscing about the time the older decided to climb onto one of the library book shelves in order to throw paper balls at Mr. Park, but accidentally caused a game of dominos by tilting the shelf.

Or the day Felix made the call to hide a vibrator in Professor. Ho's desk drawer and she opened it to see what the strange wiring noise was in the middle of class, only for her to chase the snowy haired boy all the way to the

tennis courts.

But that was all back when the boys didn't know any better, and were way more reckless with their choices. Over the years they'd matured and changed for the better, the only thing remaining was their companionship.

"That refresher was good, imma order another one, you want anything Lix?" Jisung noticed Felix had zoned out with his eyes across the room, so he clicked his fingers in front of the boy's face. "Earth to Lee Yongbok."

"S-Sorry Ji," the younger stuttered, but his gaze was still fixated on the same spot. Looking too Jisung saw that his friend was concentrating on a group of people. After a couple of them moved around, the blond soon understood exactly why.

One of the guys was a short but athletic looking guy with dirty blonde hair and lightish brown eyes. His face was narrow but he had fuller cheeks, and while his height was less than average his arms that stayed crossed over his basketball tank were anything but small. Both Jisung and Felix knew who it was, but it was the latter who had his attention stolen by the boy.

"Oh well, guess you got

over me pretty quickly.."

"What? Oh no he isn't my type."

"Felix it's damn Seo Changbin,

he's everyone's type."

The blond was correct, obviously. Changbin was in their year and was the captain of nearly every sports team at school, though it took him time to gain that spot given his stature. He was that stereotypical popular playboy, only difference to the movies being he was actually genuinely nice.

"What is your type then," Jisung pressed as he got the waiter's attention, "if not school golden boy Changbin?"

"Well, basically you I guess. Blond, sporty, short but kinda buff, fast speaker, a flirty pain in the ass." Felix rambled on but halted when he saw the older's cocked eyebrow. "What?"

"That is literally Changbin."

"No it's not! Changbin isn't

a pain in the ass."

"Wow rude, but literally if not me,

then why not Changbin."

"Are you kidding, he's way way

WAY out of my league."

"Join the cheerleaders and perform for his football games or something, maybe catch him naked in the locker rooms. Better yet, have him catch you naked in the locker rooms."

Felix cackled at his friend's dumb suggestions, neither of them taking any of them seriously. They glanced back over at Changbin and his friends, who were having a good time over at the corner table. The younger must have been staring a little too long however, because suddenly he yelped and jolted his head back towards Jisung.

"What what?!"

"He made eye contact with me."

The blond snorted into his drink, smirking at Felix's clear gay panick. Guess him getting over me won't be as hard as I first thought.

"What about you," The younger asked, filling his mouth with more brownie, "if you won't tell who you like, at least give me your general category." Jisung froze, his brain running wild about what to say without totally giving

up his game.

"I'd say, brown hair, older, relatively tall, domestic.. good with kids?"

"So basically nothing like me then."

"You're a natural brunette,

and.. have height."

"Yeah I have at least 2 foot on

your pin sized ass."

"I'm sorry but firstly, you were the one who said you like short guys, and second I'm like shorter by about half a millimetre."

"Whatever ever you say Mr.

Four foot five."

"I'm still older than you."

"bY A DAY?!"

~~~
After their cafe adventures Felix and Jisung set off on a mission around the shops, with the older watching Felix waste his money on useless things without being able to do it himself. As much as he would've liked to treat himself to a new outfit or video game, the blond knew he had to keep on top of his savings. Which meant suffering with his friend's flexing about having the latest
Twice album.
"I wanna have more more more
more more and more~"
"You're so evil Lix, this is literal torture."
"Awh cheer up, look if you really
care so much I'll let you have any
repeats if I pull them."
"WAIT YOU ALREADY
HAVE THE ALBUM?"
Later on in a clothes store, Jisung was waiting outside the changing rooms while Felix put on some mini fashion show of one for him. He saw he had a notification from Minho, and he could feel his heartbeat echoing through his body like an emotional alert.
Oh my god he left a kiss..
"Boy are you paying attention?" Jisung looked up to see Felix staring angrily at him, though he just replicated that of a pouting baby.
"Sorry Lix, what did you want me to do."
"Rate my fit of course!" The snowy haired boy did an angelic twirl to show off his current outfit.
"It's nice, but actually it would be good
with the jeans from the last outfit."
"You think?"
"Definitely, plus you were gonna
"Hmm, okay. Where did you wanna
Hello Bitches
So this chapter was a lot more dialogue that anticipated but y'know I needed Jilix to actually talk it out rather than just sit there scranning brownies. Bit shorter too but hope you enjoy anyway.
Next chapter will be a bit more of actual Minsung, plus the kids ofc. Legit I love how the two characters I created are two of my all time favourites now. If I ever have kids and they aren't as angelic as Heijin and Heihyun I'll have been a bad mum.
Oh tmi: my dog nearly got ran over today, right in front of me. If he had been a second later and hadn't stopped in the middle of the fucking road I actually would've seen him get hit. So that was not fun 🤧
OH also go read my other book please I love it a lot and If u like Hyunsung then.. yep
Anywhore gonna sleep now bye bye~
