Chapter 4: Chapter 4 - Acceptance Letter

Dad For OneWords: 11966

All Might squinted at the screen, pausing right when Izuku Midoriya hit the zero pointer. This kid... Toshinori swore he saw him use two different quirks during the entrance exam. And multiple quirks could only mean one thing. All For One. That bastard of a villain had gone off the radar years ago. It had been over a decade by now but that didn't mean All Might gave up on his search. That man killed his master, killed hundreds of people! He was a monster that stole quirks from innocent people and used them to build up his ranks.

He was a manipulative evil man that needed to be stopped at all cost.

"Are you almost done? I need to lock up the security footage in the archives today" a bored tone came from behind the number one hero. Aizawa Shouta, also known as the pro hero Eraserhead, a teacher here at UA, just like him.

"His arm turned grey, Eraser. I'm sure he's using a power that isn't his own!"

"It's just the angle of the camera and the impact of the punch. We've both seen that before All Might" Aizawa stated, crossing his arms.

"Do you really think this All For One figure will give children multiple quirks? Kids are unpredictable... Wouldn't it be a safer bet to give it to people already loyal to him?"

"I think he's building an army" All Might breathed.

"Using children to infiltrate into places others can't... A spy within UA would be disastrous! I still can't believe Nezu let him in despite my protests!"

"Midoriya isn't a spy, All Might" Aizawa deadpanned, sighing as he rubbed his face in both annoyance and frustration.

"Besides, Nezu placed him in my homeroom class. I'll make sure to keep an eye on him if that will calm you down a little?"

Toshinori groaned, shutting off the tape and leaving it to Aizawa to lock up. They had high security on them so student quirk info didn't fall into the wrong hands. Shouta knew about All Might's crusade for his nemesis, like all teachers here at UA. It's how he became a teacher in the first place. To guide the next generation to greatness and make sure they were ready for whatever dangers this unknown figure might bring.

Aizawa was a little skeptical about this All For One figure though... A person with the ability to take and give quirks? A man that supposedly lived for centuries? It sounded more like the plot for a bad sci-fi horror movie to him. But Nezu seemed to believe him and that was good enough for the black ray of sunshine. With a sigh, he locked up the security footage and made sure to lock the door behind him as well.

"You all done here?" Mic asked as he walked up to the black head in the hallway.

"Yeah, ready to call it a day... School hasn't even started yet and I'm already tired" he complained.

"Aw, come on Sho! I know you love those kids!" Mic exclaimed, swinging his arm around Aizawa's shoulder as they started walking.

"Well, All Might thinks one of my first years is involved with All For One-"

"Wait? Seriously?" Yamada asked, surprised and shocked.

"But they're, like, 14!"

"There isn't an age limit for being evil, Mic. But I'm sure he's just seeing what he wants to see. We haven't gotten a new lead on that man in over a year and he has been running into dead end after dead end ever since his mentor was killed" Aizawa sighed.

"Anyway, I'll look into him, just to ease his anxiety a little bit"

"Aw~ You do care~" Yamada teased him, kissing him on the cheek.

"Wouldn't you know, hm?" Shouta breathed, turning his head to kiss his husband on the lips. Not a lot of people knew about their relationship. Mostly pro heroes and members of the UA faculty.

Eraserhead didn't like the media and didn't think the whole world should know about it. Present Mic agreed and so they never officially announced it.

"You can't just be so cute out of nowhere! I wasn't prepared man!" Yamada exclaimed, covering his blushing face as Aizawa rolled his eyes, a small smile on his face.

"Come on, let's go home you idiot..."

...

"Oi Deku! You better not have fucking opened this shit without me!" Katsuki yelled as he slammed the front door open.

"Dude, can you, like, chill for once?" Dabi asked.

"Also, if the front door falls off its hinges, you're paying for the repairs" Tenko added.

"Where the hell is Deku? Our acceptance letters arrived in the mail today and if that nerd opened his without me, I'm killing him" the ash blonde simply stated.

"Katsuki~!" Himiko giggled as she came running down the stairs, making the boy scowl.

"Izu-chan is training with Sashi-sama! But we can play too~!"

"No thanks" Katsuki hissed, glancing at Dabi.

"Isn't it time for her snack or something?"

Tenko looked at his watch and hummed.

"Yeah, he's right... Come on Toga, time for your bag"

"Vampire time!" she squealed, grinning like crazy as she followed the eldest Midoriya child to the medical cabinet. Tenko was the only one that was officially adopted, yet every child that ended up in this house treated the Midoriya's as if they were their parents.

Hisashi built this house, this home. A big place to shelter troubled children. Minors with difficulties at home or with their quirk or both. They funded people's studies, gave quirk counseling, organized fundraisers for similar causes and raised awareness for the situation some kids grew up in. Toga Himiko, for example, was a girl driven by bloodlust due to her quirk. It was engraved into her being and nothing could keep her from wanting to see red all over.

She tried suppressing it for most of her life but ended up almost killing her crush just because she related intense emotions to her intense craving for blood. Keeping her on a regular supply of a substance with the same properties of blood was the only therapy that seemed to help. It was dyed red to keep up the illusion but it was synthetically created in some kind of lab. Made specifically to help people with her kind of quirk, actually!

"So... Basement?" Katsuki asked, walking past Dabi.

"Yup. You know the way" the former white head hummed.

"Yeah" Katsuki mumbled, pushing the button for the elevator. The gym and training room were underground, resembling some kind of bunker with all the concrete slabs against the wall. It was impact absorbing material, making sure the structure of the room wouldn't be compromised even if people with dangerous quirks were brought in.

Katsuki came over often, seeing as he could work out and spar for free in decent conditions. All training is welcome when you want to become the next number one hero, you know? It didn't take him all that long to find his green headed friend in his private training field with his dad. Everyone knew to stay away from that room when they were busy, but not all people knew why. It was said to be dangerous but the real reason was just so people wouldn't figure out Izuku has multiple quirks.

"Oh Katsuki! We were already expecting you" Hisashi smiled as he saw the ash blonde enter.

"You better not have opened this thing without me you damn nerd!" he yelled, glaring at Izuku as he smiled and ran towards his childhood friend.

"I swear I didn't open it! It was an accident, you need to believe me! B-but I saw right through the enveloppe a-and kind of mentally hacked into the video disk s-so-"

"So you already know your results huh? And here I am, being a decent friend, waiting for your ass" Katsuki grunted, yet still accepting the hug Izuku was giving him.

"I'm so sorry Kacchan! It really was an accident... I-I'm still learning to use this whole hacking quirk"

"Why was it activated in the first place? I know you can turn it off when you want to" Katsuki frowned.

"I was helping mom with her computer! It got stuck again so I wanted to see if I could figure out what was wrong with-"

"Shut up. I know enough" he groaned, holding up his hand, showing him his envelope.

"What did yours say?"

"I passed!" Izuku smiled, super excited to finally go to the school of his dreams.

"Tch, if you passed, I passed for sure" Katsuki smirked, ripping his envelope open.

The recording started playing, revealing a giant hologram version of All Might.

"I am here! To give you your results!"

Katsuki paused it immediately, gagging at the image.

"Seriously? That guy?"

"Well, he is a staff member..." Hisashi sighed.

"Believe me, I'm not happy with it either... But the two of you shouldn't have to worry about him for now. He mainly focuses on third years"

"Yeah, we still have time until we have to face him in class" Izuku smiled, yet visibly uncomfortable at the idea of being around All Might for long stretches of time.

Katsuki would be there with him though, so that gave him some feeling of comfort. Katsuki huffed, pressing play again. The screen showed his villain and hero points, making Izuku's eyes widen. He only had villain points! Well, it shouldn't surprise him... Kacchan was still Kacchan after all.

"This is your overall score! This wasn't only enough to pass, but you also placed second of all students competing in the entrance exam this year! Welcome to your hero academia, Bakugou Katsuki!"

The video cut short and a short silence fell in the training room before Izuku squealed and hugged his best friend again.

"Aaah! We're in UA together!"

"Hell yes! You ever fucking doubted me nerd?" he grinned, internally also freaking the fuck out.

"Let's become the best heroes together!" Izuku smiled, now also crying. Hisashi chuckled at the exchange. His overly emotional son with his emotionally bottled up best friend. They really were a good match... All these years they've only been bringing out the best in each other and Hisashi really hoped they would continue to grow like that.

"Well, I think that's enough training for today. Let's call the Bakugous and celebrate you both passing" Hisashi smiled. He had already made reservations at a restaurant for their families to eat out, knowing they would make it in no problem. He wasn't sure whether the boys heard him though, clearly carried away in their own conversation.

"Wait, you placed first?! How the hell did you do that?!" Katsuki yelled.

"I got rescue points Kacchan" Izuku giggled.

"Apparently beating that giant zero pointer did get me some points after all!"

"Tch, probably only cause you saved that other extra" Katsuki scoffed.

"I wonder if she made it in... I want to talk to her about her quirk" Izuku smiled.

"She has this gravity manipulation thingy, you know? But I don't know the exact stats of it and once I took a small peak, I wanted to know everything!"

"Ah yes, the curse of All For One" Hisashi sighed, remembering clearly how obsessed he could get with some quirks, only feeling satisfied when he was able to steal the quirk off the person completely.

"Come on boys, let's go back upstairs"

Izuku and Katsuki followed him without too much fuss, bickering about who is actually better and analyzing the quirks of people they saw at the entrance exam. A few minutes later, Mitsuki and Masaru arrived at the Midoriya home and they celebrated their sons getting into UA. Of course all of Izuku's official and unofficial siblings joined in to celebrate too and every child in the house was soon cheering and congratulating the two for getting into UA.

Izuku was like a brother to everyone here, like his dad was a father to them and Inko a mother. Katsuki was his best friend so it felt natural to accept the ash blonde as their friend as well, even if he was loud and rude sometimes. Well, basically all the time but, you know, these kids can handle some shit or otherwise they wouldn't have ended up here. This was a home for troubled kids and teens, after all. Izuku was actually rather surprised there weren't any quirk incidents during the celebration.

Not all of them had full control over their powers so accidents happen all the time. You have no idea how much money they spend on repairs each year... This place would fall apart if not for the fortune Hisashi has gathered over the years, but it was a small price to pay for redemption and to save the future of those troubled youth.
