"Are you fucking insane?!"
Okay, fair, Izuku already expected that kind of reaction. He admitted it was quite an insane proposition...
"Shush! All Might is gonna hear you if you yell like that!" Izuku hissed, putting his hand over Kacchan's mouth.
"You told me to be myself, remember? To think like I always do and come up with a plan that assures us of victory. This is me being myself and this is my plan. You're in or not?"
Katsuki scowled, glaring at Deku in silence for a while before licking his hand.
"Ew! Gross!"
"That's what you get for trying to silence me, nerd" the ash blonde stated, sticking out his tongue. Ugh, Kacchan was acting like a little kid!
"But back to business, you're serious about this shit?"
"I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't" Izuku answered, wiping his hand off on Katsuki's hero outfit.
"Oi! Hands off!"
"It's your spit, your clothes getting ruined!"
They fell to the ground during their little quarrel, instantly falling silent when they felt the ground rumble again, presumably because All Might punched the ground in some way to lure them out of their hiding spot. Izuku yelped, his grip on Kacchan tightening on reflex. Katsuki froze up too, but if anyone pointed it out he would absolutely deny it.
"Alright, fuck, fine. A second quirk huh? What did you have in mind?" Katsuki asked in a whisper. Izuku's eyes widened, a smile rising to his lips.
"You're in?"
"Depends on what kind of fucked up quirk you're planning to shove down my throat, Deku" Katsuki countered, but it was clear by the tone in his voice he'll go along with this crazy idea whatever Izuku decided.
"I was thinking about my spring quirk which basically turns the inside of your limbs into springs. Makes you jump higher but it could also cushion your blasts so your body can take the recoil better. Think of it as a smaller secondary quirk to assist your original one" Izuku quickly explained, practically seeing the gears turning in Kacchan's mind as he followed along with the implications of this addition.
"...Okay, hit me" Katsuki breathed, closing his eyes.
"Are you sure? I don't want to force anything onto you-" Izuku added, only to be interrupted by Katsuki.
"Shut up and get it over with Deku!" he hissed.
"Just know that this shit is temporary, okay? After this exam you take your dumb quirk back! I don't need some secondary quirk to become the number one!"
"Of course! Long exposure to a second quirk without alterations to your body could have negative effects on your well-being. The goal is to lessen the damage, not to accumulate it" Izuku nodded.
"But you've got nothing to worry about, I promise! Side effects only start to show after about a year or so-"
The ground rumbled again. Harder this time. All Might was obviously getting impatient.
"We're wasting time here Deku, just do whatever you've got to do" Katsuki stated. Izuku quickly nodded, still holding onto Katsuki's arms as he focused on the transfer. Passing on quirks came natural to him since he had so many of them stored up inside himself. That's also why he luckily didn't have a constant urge to take quirks away from people, with the exception of One For All.
The transfer was complete by the time another rumble shook the building, causing a few pebbles to fall down from the ceiling.
"We need to move. How are you feeling, Kacchan?" Izuku asked as they crawled back up from the floor. Katsuki flexed his fingers for a moment, looking down at his hands and his arms.
"Feels...fuzzy... Different. But I can work with this" he mumbled, letting some explosions escape his palms
"Alright, let's kick some ass!"
And kick ass they did.
With the new quirk update Kacchan could hold his own against All Might while Izuku backed him up. He was using his telekinesis on the rubble that was laying around due to the destruction All Might caused against the pro hero. Smashing stones into his body and shooting flying shards of glass his way every chance he got. After a few minutes, the so-called villain was already covered in cuts, bruises and burns.
Yet Izuku doubted whether or not this would be enough to defeat him within their time limit. They wasted a lot at the start of their exam... Their odds weren't that amazing. So when the escape gate came into view, Izuku took his chance. One glance at Kacchan told him the ash blonde was thinking the same. Unfortunately All Might also picked up on that, taking this opportunity to swing Katsuki away to another part of the fake city before rushing forward, catching up to Izuku in no time.
The green head shrieked, trying to sidestep in order to avoid a collapse but All Might had other plans. The man grabbed Izuku's arm, snapping it in an instant. Not even a second later, a bloodcurdling scream filled ground beta. Izuku knew he was overreacting. He'd broken limbs before when he was training with his dad. He'd felt pain way worse than this due to his own stupid quirks!
But this wasn't him, this wasn't his father or Kacchan or any of his non-official siblings! This was All Might... His nemesis, as Todoroki called him. The fact it was that man doing this to him made it more painful than anything he ever felt before. All Might hadn't expected anything like this either, immediately letting go in shock. Izuku trembled on his feet, tears welling up in his eyes as backed off.
"STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM DEKU YOU ASSHOLE!"
With a bright flash All Might was removed from his vision. Katsuki was fueled with anger. How dare that bastard lay a hand on Izuku?! He'll pay!
"K-Kacchan..." Izuku choked out, instantly pulling him out of his rage. He sounded so fucking fragile... Katsuki was by his side in a second, assessing the damage to his arm before swirling around to make sure All Might wouldn't try any shit while he made sure Deku was okay.
"I-I don't wanna b-be here anymore... Kacchan, I-I wanna leave... P-please don't make me stay a-any longer. I don't wanna be near h-him anymore"
"Of course, we're getting out of here right now, okay? You're gonna be okay" Katsuki whispered, taking his good hand so he could guide the green head towards the gate.
His other hand was facing All Might, his gauntlet ready to be fired and setting off a blast big enough to level an entire block. But the hero simply allowed them to leave, not chasing or stopping them. A cheerful alarm celebrated their win as they walked through the gate, but neither party seemed particularly happy about it.
...
Aizawa had watched the whole thing go down and wasn't all that amused either. He didn't know where those problem children disappeared to at the start and part of him didn't even want to know but it seemed to have helped up until All Might went for Midoriya directly. He sighed, getting up from his chair and leaving the monitor room. He wanted to go check up on them but he had his own exam to get to.
Aizawa wasn't able to get far though because the moment he wasn't near any of his colleagues, a purplish black portal opened in front of him. He frowned, he didn't have an appointment with Kurogiri planned right now and Hisashi had already given him all the information he had, right? But when a frantic looking Hisashi came through the portal, he started to doubt that previous thought.
"Is Izuku okay?" he asked, his eyes wide in panic and in fear.
"I-I felt a disturbance... Is he okay? Eraserhead, talk to me. What happened? Did something go wrong during the exam? Where is he now? Can I see him? I need to know if he-"
"Hold up, calm down" Aizawa interrupted, signaling him to walk with him.
"How do you know your son was in distress?"
"We have a mental link of some sort due to AFO, we only found out recently but I can sense him sometimes" Hisashi tried to explain. When Izuku confessed to being in touch with a fragment of his mind, a lot of things had suddenly made sense. The random surges he sometimes felt, the feeling something really bad or incredibly good just happened even though he was just sitting in his office or watching tv. It were all Izuku's emotions he was able to sense through their bond of All For One.
And just like he had before, he'd also felt his son's feelings surge a moment ago. Although, unlike before, the feeling had never been quite so ominous.
"Please tell me he's okay. The wave of panic I felt was just... I-I need to see him"
"You can't. You're trespassing on UA grounds during the examination of one of our hero course classes, be glad I won't rat you out" Aizawa grumbled.
"As for your son, he had to fight All Might during his practical so you can guess how well that went. From the footage I'm guessing he has a broken arm but besides that he's fine. Physically at least. So call Kurogiri and leave. I'm sure your son will tell you all about it when he comes home after school"
Hisashi took a shaky breath and nodded. So this was All Might related... Of course it was. Did he really expect something else?
"Yes... Alright, okay, thank you for informing me, Eraserhead... I'll get out of your hair now" he answered with a shaky smile, reminding Aizawa way too much of Izuku.
"Oh, and uh, I'd like to book an official appointment soon. As a quirk specialist and the guardian of Shinsou Hitoshi regarding a possible transfer. I'll uh, I'll have Kurogiri send you the details"
Before Aizawa could react, Kurogiri's portal sucked him up again, leaving the pro hero teacher alone on the path. He sighed. At least meetings with a former supervillain and over concerned father were never all that boring, even if they were annoying. Shouta shook his head, clearing his mind. Focus. He had an examination to get to and he was determined to teach those two students what it takes to be a hero. Let's go give Yaoyorozu that confidence boost she needs.
...
All Might simply stood there, frozen, even long after the students had left the arena. He was certain of what he saw, knew the kid was involved with All For One in some kind of way, but this... The way the shadow of that monster loomed over the boy as they retreated, hunched in a protective matter while glaring at All Might with those way too familiar eyes... It sent shivers down his spine and nailed him in place. All For One was watching over Midoriya more closely than he could've ever imagined...
He was sure neither of the boys had seen the figure, but to All Might he'd been as clear as day. A dark wispy man standing between him and Midoriya, daring him to make a move towards his heir, his successor. Because that's what he was, wasn't he? Young Midoriya was destined to be the next holder of All For One... Maybe he was already in possession of the quirk, which would explain the way his nemesis could appear like that.
It was similar to One For All, in a way. All Might had his fair share of dreams when he was still getting used to his quirk. Visions of previous holders, the vestiges of One For All. They had all looked like the figure of All For One, although he'd never seen any of them manifest in the real world... The power Midoriya held must be incredible to be able to spawn a vestige like that, even if he was only visible to All Might himself.
Yes, this was all the proof he needed to confirm what he had already suspected. Midoriya Izuku is definitely in league with All For One! Now he just had to find a way to prove it to his colleagues here at UA... He doubted the security cameras were able to capture the image. Maybe seeing him was just a fluke to begin with, or a reaction of their quirks clashing in such a violent way... Either way he had to find out more about this. He needed to eliminate this threat as soon as possible!
