The moment Kacchan entered the stands was the moment Himiko fled the scene. Of course they bickered for a moment before Katsuki kicked her out, back on her way to her own seat. He'd always been more strict on her and his other informal siblings than Izuku has ever been...
"Aw! Kacchan, that hurts!" Izuku whined as the ash blonde pinched his cheeks.
"You idiot! Why the hell did you let that psycho in here?!"
"I-I didn't though!" Izuku whined, pulling himself free. Katsuki scowled, rolling his eyes. How typical... Izuku gave him a soft smile, glancing back at the rest of the class. They were all chatting and muttering, some shooting looks at them. They must be talking about what he just told them, about his dad's work... They'd find out sooner or later, but at least they seemed to be taking it well. Better than his peers in middle school at least...
"Tch, don't mind those useless extras. It doesn't matter what they think about you or those annoying bastards you live with" Katsuki scoffed, making Izuku chuckle a little.
"Yeah, I guess you're right Kacchan" he sighed, giving the blonde a bright smile.
"Good luck in the final, okay? I'm rooting for you!"
"Hell yeah! I'll crush that guy!" Katsuki grinned, smashing an explosion against his fist.
Todoroki glanced in their direction, quietly making his way out of the stands and towards the prep room. Katsuki went down there soon after and not much later, the match finally started. Shoto was still confused about what to do. Whether he should use his fire or not. Katsuki was a tough opponent, blasting his way through wall after wall of ice as he slowly made his way towards the halfa.
The ash blonde was getting angrier by the second though. What?! Was he not worthy of this asshole's full power?! Why wasn't he using it against him like he did against Deku?! How could he know he was actually better than him if he didn't give it his all?!
"ARE YOU GONNA FUCKING FIGHT ME OR WHAT ICYHOT?!" Katsuki roared, sending several big explosions Shoto's way.
The fight wasn't boring, but Todoroki was pushed on the defensive rather quickly, hesitating and thinking too long over his next move to be on the offensive. Katsuki on the other hand seemed to have never ending firepower at his disposal. It worried Izuku though. The green head knew his childhood friend was pushing his limits. Oh Kacchan will definitely feel this afterwards...
In the end, Shoto wasn't much of a challenge for Katsuki and the ash blonde managed to beat him. Katsuki himself didn't seem satisfied with that lame ass victory though, still yelling and exploding all over the place until Midnight had to eventually use her quirk on him to make him pass out. Izuku got up from his seat, a hand instantly grabbing his arm.
"I know you want to go down there to see Bakugou, but I think it's better if you let him calm down first, Deku-kun" Uraraka said.
"No, you don't know Kacchan like I do" Izuku breathed.
"His rage isn't going to just pass and he isn't going to listen to just anyone... I-I have to go talk to him before he lashes out at a teacher and gets in trouble"
He gave her a small smile as he pulled his arm free.
"I'll see you later, Uraraka-san!"
With that he left the stands, quickly making his way down towards the waiting areas to look for Kacchan. Hm, maybe they're in the nurse's office? Recovery Girl did have a room here for the injuries the sportsfestival brought. Yeah, he'll go look there first!
Izuku was walking fast, yet he stopped straight in his tracks once he turned a corner, stumbling forward a little as he yelped. All Might... The hero saw him before Izuku could turn around and find another way to Recovery Girl's office.
"Ah young Midoriya! Have you come to check on your classmates?" All Might asked, his fake smile plastered over his face like every other time Izuku had seen him.
They both wore masks around each other, tiptoeing, being careful not to let anything slip. Any sign of hatred or distrust could and would be used against them later and they both knew that.
"O-oh, uhm, y-yes, I was just on my way, All Might sensei" Izuku said, forcing a smile as he started walking towards the man. Just walk past him, keep talking and smiling and ignore him.
"They really went full out in the final huh? Well, I didn't expect anything else! I mean, this is UA after all and they're both crazy strong so it could've gone either way, don't you think? Anyway, it was nice seeing you again, Mr All Might sir. It's, uh, it's a shame you're not teaching our class anymore, you know? I'm looking forward to learning from you in the future! Goodbye sensei, have a nice day!"
With that small rambling spree, Izuku was able to walk past the number one hero, giving the man a small wave before quickly turning another corner and sprinting away. He took a shaky breath, clutching his shirt as he came to a stop somewhere far away from that man. That was scary... He hadn't really seen All Might since the USJ incident and he really didn't want to have to interact with him again. He was a mad man and Izuku feared that if he said something wrong or was even slightly suspicious, he'd attack him on the spot.
"Midoriya?"
Izuku shrieked up, activating his telekinesis quirk on instinct and flinging Aizawa sensei against the wall. The man groaned, giving his student a glare. Izuku's eyes widened in a panic and he quickly deactivated his quirk.
"I-I'm so sorry! Y-you startled me a-and I wasn't in control and I-I-"
"I can see that" Aizawa stated, frowning a little as he observed his trembling problem child.
"Did something happen? You seem to be distressed"
"I-I, uh, I r-ran into All Might a-a little bit back a-and I just- I guess I'm just- I'm not really recovered from that" Izuku muttered, fiddling with his hands. Aizawa's eyes widened a little as he grew concerned. He knew Midoriya was afraid of All Might due to the secret he carried with him, that's why Shouta went through such lengths to get him out of the picture for now. He didn't expect Midoriya's fear to worsen though...
It seemed like he had it under control at the start of the year but it only grew more potent. What is he going to do with himself when he reaches his third year..? Aizawa frowned. He needed to have a talk with All Might in order to avoid these kinds of situations.
"I-I acted normal though! I-I think... I mean, I was only near him for about a minute or something s-so it's really nothing... I just... I didn't expect it, that's all. It took me off guard. I promise it won't happen again" Izuku stated, clenching his fists by his side.
Aizawa sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in exhaustion. Prepping the Sportsfestival had been a hassle and now Bakugou was going feral too. Speaking of which-
"Were you on your way to see Bakugou?"
"Yes-" Izuku smiled, wanting to continue before Aizawa interrupted him.
"Good, maybe you can talk some sense into him" the pro hero teacher sighed, signalling the green head to follow him as they started walking.
Izuku could hear Katsuki before he saw him, his yelling and snarling and cursing filling up the hallway as they approached the room he was currently locked up in. Teachers were trying to calm him down and congratulating him on his win. The more he was praised, the angrier he got though. Yeah, it was pretty much what Izuku expected to walk in on... He knew Kacchan would be pissed off with this win and praise would only agitate him further.
"Kacchan!" Izuku exclaimed, running in and hugging the feral blonde. Some of the teachers gasped, fearing for Midoriya's life, only to fall into shock and surprise when Bakugou didn't explode him. They were best friends so of course Katsuki would restrain himself, even if he was super pissed off at the moment.
"You did it Kacchan! You won! I'm so happy for you!"
"Fuck off! I didn't win shit! That half baked fight was nothing! That damn bastard didn't even use his full power on me! I wanna murder that son of a-!" Katsuki raged, only to be stopped by Izuku.
"I know Todoroki-kun didn't use his fire, but he did try everything he had with his ice side"
"You've got it easy talking! He used his fucking fire on you, didn't he you fucking nerd?! So don't go screwing around and defending him like that!" Katsuki spat out, making Izuku frown.
"I'm not defending him Kacchan. I'm also disappointed he didn't use his full strength... But the facts remain as they are, you won! And you should be happy about that! Do you know how many top hero agencies send scouts to the festival Kacchan? Winning the sportsfestival in your first year at UA, plus beating the son of the number two hero! That's going to open up so many opportunities for you! You're going to be an amazing hero Kacchan!"
Izuku grabbed Katsuki's shoulders, his eyes glowing a little as he used one of his quirks.
"So calm down and let us celebrate your win, okay?"
Katsuki's breath hitched and he gasped, his eyes closing for a moment. He probably recognized what Izuku was doing and was trying to fight off the effects of his quirk. It's something called Pacify. His dad used it to make people more compliant when interrogating them, but Izuku had always used it to dissolve fights and make people calm down. Especially Kacchan, actually.
It's why he knew what Izuku was doing, he had seen it enough times to know what was gonna happen. He also knew fighting it was pointless, but his stubborn ass did so anyway.
"Are you calmed down now?" Izuku asked, letting go once he saw Kacchan's eyes open again. They looked duller than before, an effect of the quirk. It wasn't all that noticeable though, only if you were really looking for it. Besides, people aren't stupid enough to provoke Katsuki by looking him in the eye.
"Yeah, whatever... Let's just get this shit show on the road, I guess" he mumbled.
Aizawa watched from the sidelines, frowning at the scene. Midoriya definitely used a quirk on Bakugou just now, but he couldn't determine what or when. How did it work? When did he affect him? He didn't understand how it was triggered or how long the effects were going to last. Was Bakugou going to revert to his feral state once it wore off? It was a possibility. While the teachers prepped Katsuki for the award ceremony, Izuku met Aizawa's gaze.
"Don't worry, Aizawa sensei" he smiled.
"Everything is fine now"
The teacher hummed, crossing his arms. Best to believe it, for now. He'll lecture him about using different quirks on school grounds later. Certainly when using it on another student with so many people around. Seriously, Midoriya should know better, shouldn't he? Did All For One even teach him or did he simply handed over his quirk and then vanished? No. Izuku seemed to attach too much importance to the previous holder for him to be out of the picture...
He must've been taught that as long as he can get away with it, everything is possible. A typical villain attitude. Something Aizawa will have to change in order for him to become a hero. But for now he'll stand by and watch from the sidelines, being grateful that there is someone capable of taming Bakugou when he was raging like that. If he hadn't calmed down, they might've had to restrain him.
Most teachers left since they weren't necessary to contain Katsuki anymore and Izuku happily chatted with the ash blonde as he passively sat and listened, sometimes giving a small remark.
"Another thing-" Aizawa sighed, knowing none of the other teachers had told them this. It was supposed to be a surprise, but it was better to warn these two ahead of time.
"-All Might will be the one to hand out the awards. Just so you're prepared"
Katsuki scowled. Even under the influence of Pacify his frustration for that man was immense.
"Oh... Well, now I'm kinda glad I'm not up on stage" Izuku chuckled, looking back at Katsuki.
"I'm sure you can handle him though, right Kacchan?"
"He's just gonna give me a fucking medal, not punch me in the face" Katsuki grunted, making Izuku roll his eyes.
"Well, anyway, I should get back to the stands. The award ceremony will start soon" Izuku stated, standing up.
"Make sure to give the public a smile, okay Kacchan?"
"Fuck off nerd"
"Ah well, it was worth a try..."
