Five days ago,
"Time for your dose," said a man dressed in a lab coat.
"When can I get rid of the addiction?" asked Eva, who was weakâso weak that she needed to be strapped to the bed for support.
"Sadly, never. You see, this is a very rare drug, available only in our 'The Lotus' lab. If you try to skip the dose, you know what happens," he said, pointing to Eva's paralyzed body strapped vertically to the medical table.
"Don't," she glared at the man. "Don't you dare give me another dose of it, Hopper," she shouted.
"Don't call me Hopper," he said, punching her abdomen, causing her to shut her eyes but not react to the pain.
"What else should I call you, creepy doctor?" she asked defiantly.
"You know what, bitch? You're not getting this dose for another three hours. But guess what you will be getting," he said with a sinister smirk.
"What?" she asked dryly.
"G109," he replied, and the color drained from her face.
"You wouldn't dream of it," she said firmly, making Hopper flinch.
"Oh, yes I would, especially when I'm on duty today," he said, throwing the syringe with the original dose aside and heading to the cold room filled with test tubes.
As he opened the door, a strong gust of cold air rushed out, carrying with it a pungent smell of chemicals. The shelves lined with colorful test tubes came into view.
He went to a back corner of the room, taking out a bright blue liquid and filling the syringe with it.
"No, not that!" Eva shouted.
"Should have thought about that before calling me that name," he said, injecting it into her arm.
"There you goâparalyzed body from the neck down, and G109 acting up on all your muscles," he said, leaving the room after seeing her lower body twitch.
The paralyzing drug immobilized her from the neck down, while G109 caused intense burning sensations in her muscles.
And there she was, strapped to the table, feeling her muscles burn without being able to do anything.
Three hours later, the door opened, revealing another member of The Lotusâalso a lab worker.
"Oh my god, boss, what happened?" he exclaimed upon seeing her still strapped down.
"Not Hopper, happened," Eva whispered.
"That punk! What did he drug you with? I'll get the antidote," he said, rushing to the cold room.
"P7 and G109," she said, and he quickly located the drugs among the countless colorful test tubes.
"Got it, P7 and G109A," he said, injecting her with both.
"Thanks," she whispered weakly. "You'll be ruling this place in less than five days. Show Hopper what you're made of."
He left the lab, leaving her alone with her thoughts. As she regained movement in her limbs, she winced.
She lay there, staring at the ceiling.
"Finally, today is the last day," she mumbled to herself.
After today, no one would control her life.
She hadn't fought back until now because of the contract she signed as a childâunaware that even a perfectly worded contract has loopholes that disadvantage her.
To her misfortune, there were not just one, but many loopholes and unfinished sentences that left her at a great disadvantage in this contract.
"Where should I start my journey of revenge?" she smirked, an evil grin spreading across her face.
