Nicole POV
Its finally Saturday and am happy. Its for only one reason! Because I'll be going back to school this week! Oh God! I missed school so much. I just spent two weeks in the house and it seems like I spent years!
Tonight, Trina and I will be going to Troy's party. Am also glad Jake didn't even step foot in this house to try and apologise to me even though I wished he did. But I guess he had too much ego to do that!
At least I'm quite satisfied that we wouldn't see each other again even though I'll meet him in school! But we'll keep our distance. Its like I miss him in a way but I don't want to believe that!
"Nicole! Are you ready?" Trina asks at the doorway
"Almost" I reply.
Since we had nothing to do, Trina and I decided to go and swim at the backyard.
I take my black and white bikini and my black towel. Then I exit my room with Trina. Mom and dad were in the hall watching a TV series
Trina and I infiltrate into the backyard.
"I can't wait to swim!" Trina announces and I chuckle.
She puts on her sea blue bikini and dived into the water. She resurfaces with her hair wet.
"Come on Nicole! The water is warm" Trina yells.
I put my bikini on and dive into the water. She was right! It was warm.
She splashed water in my face and chuckles.
I splashed even more in her face. We were both chuckling.
"So how are you and Mason now?" I ask when we were done chuckling.
"Well, we are kind of friends now! But he still has his eyes on his crush" Trina says sadly.
"That girl wouldn't budge?" I groan and Trina laughs.
"I think they are meant to be together" Trina says with a shrug.
"But thanks for your help anyway! I've learnt a lot from you in terms of fashion" she adds and I smile proudly.
"I've been so busy this week with Mason that I forgot to ask you about Jake! What's going on? Cos I know I've missed a lot" Trina spits and I'm a little bit upset.
"Things are okay Trina" I lie
"Mmm! I see!" Trina says.
"So are you guys still friends or more than friends now?" Trina asks.
"We are just friends" I lie.
"Its like you are not being honest with me! Did something happen between the two of you again? Cos you don't feel comfortable talking about him" Trina asks furrowing her eyebrows at me.
I laugh.
"Oh Trina! I'm telling you the truth! Nothing happened! Everything is alright" I lie.
"Really?" Trina asks
"Yeah" I lie again
I watch as she gets out of the water.
"Wait here! Am coming" she says and dashes into the house.
She comes back with my phone.
"What's this then?" She asks showing me thirteen missed calls from Jake.
"Oh umm. Have you been going through my phone Trina?" I scold trying to divert the question.
"Well erh! I just saw it" she says and I snatch my phone from her.
"Don't go through my phone again" I scold her and she nods.
"Okay, now answer my question! Why do you have thirteen missed calls from Jake if you guys have no problem? You're a bad liar Nicole!" Trina spits and I groan.
"Well, my phone was on silent mode so I didn't hear it ring! But I called him back" I lie.
Trina narrows her eyes at me.
"I don't believe you!" She spits.
"Believe whatever you want! This is ridiculous!" I say completely annoyed and get out of the pool.
"Where are you going?" She asks
"To my room! And I want to be alone! Don't come there" I reply and dry myself with my towel before changing into my original outfit.
"Are you mad at me?" Trina hollers before I leave.
"Somehow" I reply and leave her in the backyard alone. I didn't want to talk about that jerk! But since my good old sister brought him, it has got me thinking about him and I'm going nuts.
I enter my room and lock the door. I turn on the television set in my room and a cartoon comes on. I lie in bed and watch. My phone rings and I look at it. Its Jake. I place it on my cabinet until it ends registering the fourteenth missed call but I don't care.
I just pay attention to the cartoon on the TV. Then I hear a light knock on the door.
"Nicole! Its Trina!" She says at the back of the door but I don't respond. I don't even think about opening the door for her.
"Look I'm sorry! I was just asking about him and I believe you! You were telling the truth" she rattles and I smile satisfied.
"So can you open your door now?" She asks.
I contemplate whether to open it for her or not but with a heavy sigh, I walked to the door and opened it for her.
"Are you still mad at me?" Trina asks.
I give her a small smile.
"No!" I reply and she grins.
"Its almost four! We should start getting ready for the party" Trina gushes and shush her.
"Do you want mom and dad to hear that we have been going to parties?" I whisper chide her.
She realises this and giggles.
"I don't think they'll make a great deal out of that" Trina shrugs and enters my room while I shut the door.
"You think?" I ask.
"Maybe because if they find out we have been sneaking to parties at night, we will be dead" Trina spits.
"They wouldn't find out" I say.
"Let's just tell them about it" Trina argues.
"Nothing will happen okay? Now chill" I reply and she sighs and sits on my bed.
We watch the cartoon together until it's 7:30pm. We got ready to go for the party. I got into a red adidas tracksuit and white sneakers. Trina wore a red fitting dress with red wedges.
We were about to leave when mom caught us. Shit!
"Where are both of you going all dressed up if I may ask?" Mom spits with her arms folded.
Trina gave me a glare that said I told you so.
"Errrr....mom!" I say with a huge smile but her face is stern.
"We are going to a party" I say nervously.
"A party? " mom repeats.
"Yes mom" I reply.
"Is it a birthday party or what?" Mom asks.
"Yes mom!" I lie. I really don't like lying.
"Okay! You can go! But be back early! Its dangerous out there! Be careful" mom says and hugs us before leaving to her room and I heave a sigh of relief. I thought she was going to tell us to get back to our rooms.
"You need to tell her the truth someday" Trina reminds when we get out.
I sigh.
We take a cab to the club house.
The place is already on fire with music and a huge crowd of people.
Trina and I get down
We entered and the disco lights go on and off.
"Nikki!" I hear and I see Danny.
"Hey Danny" I reply.
He frowns on seeing Trina but he quickly replaces it with a fake smile.
"Hello Trina!" He says to her and she responds.
"You brought her here again?" He whispers in my ear.
"I had no choice" I whisper in his ear.
He sighs heavily.
"Today we wouldn't be going to the meeting area! So you better watch her" Danny whispers.
"Okay" I reply and he leaves with a bottle of devil springs vodka in his left hand.
I drag Trina through the crowd in search of Kimberly. I finally find her sitting at a table with Troy and Aaron. I go to her with Trina. We sit down with them.
"You came in a tracksuit again?" Kimberly spits
"Yeah" I reply
"You still look beautiful" Aaron compliments and I smile saying thanks
I watch Danny walk through the crowd and go to the DJ area.
He stands behind and plays another song and the crowd jams to it.
"Danny is the disk jockey tonight?" I ask.
"Yeah! Tonight is a special night" Troy says.
"I need to make a few announcements! Excuse me" Troy adds and leaves.
We watch him get onto the stage.
"Hello everyone" he says into the microphone.
The crowd cheers.
"Yeah! I have a few announcements to make"
"My parents will be returning from their vacation tomorrow so I'm sorry to announce that next week Saturday, we wouldn't have a party and maybe the following Saturday as well but I will keep you informed"
Troy states and the crowd groans.
"But I have good news for you! Since we wouldn't be meeting next week, tonight is going to be a special night! There are so many fun things that are going to happen here tonight" Troy states and everyone cheers.
"First on our list, is a dance competition between Kate and Kimberly" he announces.
"No! We want Nikki" someone yells and my heart skips a beat.
"Yeah Nikki" another one shouts.
"Dude! It should be Kate and Nikki" another guy says into the microphone.
"But why? Kimberly is a good dancer" Troy states.
I look at Kimberly sympathetically and she smiles.
"No problem Nikki! Go and kill it" she states.
"Because Nikki and Kate are the Queens" a dude yells into the microphone.
"Yeah!" I hear Kate say and she walks onto the stage in sea blue shorts and a navy top.
"Okay! Its a dance competition between Kate and Nikki" Troy announces and the crowd cheers! Troy! Am gonna kill him.
"Don't go" Aaron says.
"But why? Nicole can dance" Trina argues.
"Its stupid" Aaron explains.
Troy comes to sit and I glare at him
"Sorry Nikki! I just had to obey them! You can run away" he suggests.
"Oh come out Nikki! " Kate yells into the microphone and the crowd cheers.
"Go Nikki!" A brunette in the crowd says to me.
"Its your decision!" Troy shrugs
"I suggest you don't go! You'll make a fool out of yourself" Aaron warns.
"Oh Nikki! Where are you? Don't be a chicken" Kate spits and I growl.
I get up.
"Don't go" Aaron says but I don't listen. I ran onto the stage and bounce to warm up.
The crowd cheers.
"I'm here chicken! Want a battle?" I say into the microphone and the crowd cheers even louder.
Kate smirks.
"Let the best dancer win" she sneers at me.
I nod and continue to bounce. I was charged for this.
"Wait before this competition starts, we need a judge" Troy spits.
"Someone who isn't a fan of any of the two" he adds.
I roll my eyes in annoyance and stop bouncing.
"The Newbie" someone yells and my heart leaps into my throat.
"Yes the newbie" Kate echoes it into her microphone and the whole crowd yell it
"Okay Newbie! You are the judge! Come up stage" Troy says and am about to have a heart attack.
Kate smirks at me. Jake comes upstage. He looked good in a black tee shirt and dark jeans with a pair of white sneakers like mine.
The crowd cheers.
"He's so cute" I hear one of the girls yell in the crowd. Jake smiles at me but I don't return it.
He goes over to Troy and they shake hands.
"I'm here everyone" he says into the microphone and they cheer.
