"So are you and Kate kind of friends now or something?" I ask to break the awkward silence in the car. It makes me feel nervous in a way.
"Well we became friends recently" Jake replies simply.
"Have you met each other anywhere else apart from school?"I ask trying to refer to what I saw at the party.
" yeah! I saw her at a party Troy invited me to"Jake answers and I'm shocked. He was really honest.
"She got drunk and I had to take her home! I couldn't leave her to pass out on the floor so I didn't spend much time there" Jake says.
"Oh" I say. He was telling the truth.
"Were you there? At the party?" Jake asks me and I swallow hard.
"Yes I was! But I didn't know you would be coming" I point out.
He chuckles
"I didn't know you would be there either" he replies and looks at my face with a smile.
I feel better now! The awkward silence is gone.
"Troy throws a party every Saturday night and so we can meet at the party this Saturday and hang out that Sunday after the party" I suggest.
"That's a great idea. But we will meet more often in school after your suspension" Jake says.
I nod in agreement.
"But I don't like the idea of you being an alpha!" Jake says.
"What?!" I yell.
"I didn't mean anything bad but being an alpha entails a lot! You always get into trouble" He explains.
"Cut the crap Jake! Its my life! Not yours" I explain to him
"I've been in a gang before! I know what I'm talking about Nikki" He says.
"So what?" I reply.
"Its dangerous" Jake yells and I clench my hands.
"Are you dictating my life for me now?" I ask completely annoyed. We were heading towards my house now.
"No! I'm not! But damn it Nikki an Alpha? You went too far" Jake says.
He parks his car in front of my house.
"Its not a big deal! Anyone can become an alpha!" I yell at him.
"My problem is you being the alpha! You can't! I know you Nicole!"
"You know absolutely nothing about me!" I yell at him and get out.
"Nikki I'm just caring about you" he says and I slam the car door.
I enter my house before he could chase me here and continue to underestimate me of being an Alpha. I know my face is red with anger.
"How'd it go with your friend?" Trina says the moment I enter. I hold my finger and climb the stairs to my bedroom.
I entered my bedroom and slammed the door
I've never been so insulted in my life! How dare he? I'm an alpha so what?
"Is everything alright? What happened? You look pissed" Trina says at the doorway.
"Not now Trina! I'm not in a good mood" I yell at her.
After helping him solve his problems, he decides to treat me this way! He's gonna pay! My phone rings.
I look at the caller ID and its Jake alright. I let it ring go to the end.
"Won't you pick up? Its Jake" Trina says.
"Trina would you leave me alone! I'm upset right now" I yell at her
"I'm not leaving until you tell me what the fuck happened" she yells back.
"Its my business! Not yours!" I yell back.
"I don't care! I can't leave you like this!" She yells back
The phone rings again and its the jerk again.
"If you don't tell me anything am gonna pick up and ask Jake himself" Trina threatens and takes the phone.
"Don't even dare!" I reply and try to snatch the phone from her but she dodges.
"Are you telling me or what?" She yells back.
I sigh heavily. She's so stubborn!
The phone stops ringing.
"Okay I'll tell you! But first gimme the phone" I say but she doesn't
I sigh and leave the phone with her.
I tell her everything that happened today and she was happy when I told her Jake and I kissed but was disappointed at how things ended today.
"I think you overreacted Nicole! The guy is just caring about you! Its not a big deal and he's right with everything he said about being an alpha" Trina says.
"But he's trying to convince me to quit! I can't or else I've failed everyone! My gang, My friends! The fans" I tell her.
"Like seriously? You're afraid of failing? When you are endangering your life?" Trina spits. She was right.
"But I've been an alpha for a year! I can't quit now unless someone overthrows me" I reply.
"You are just overreacting! I side with Jake here! He's right! He was just letting you realise the risks you are taking" Trina convinces.
"You think so?" I ask her.
"Yes! On the contrary, I wish I had a friend like Jake who would take me out and take me to the amusement park, buy cotton candies for me, watch a movie with me and let me drive his car! So romantic" Trina says dreamily.
I laugh.
"You've got all that and plus he cares about you! What else?" Trina asks me. She was absolutely right. Today would have been the best day in my entire life if l hadn't overreacted. He was just caring about me.
"You're right Trina! I shouldn't have acted that way" I tell her.
"That's the spirit" Trina says and my phone rings.
"Its Jake! Pick up!" Trina says and I pick up hurriedly.

"Hey.....Jake" I stutter and Trina giggles.
"I'm sorry for pissing you off" he says with sadness evident in his tone.
"No it's okay! You're right" I reply.
"What?" He asks confused.
"I mean all that you said in the car a few minutes ago before I overreacted" I say.
"Well I'm glad you now understand"
"Why don't you quit?" He asks me
"The thing is I can't! Its not done unless someone overthrows me" I reply him.
"Oh" he says.
"And I don't want anyone to do it" I say.
"But its dangerous Nikki! We would talk about this Saturday night at the party okay?" Jake says.
"Yeah"I agree.
" Great and thank you again for making me happy today"he says.
"You did the same thing too!" I say and hang up.
"So?" Trina asks.
"We sorted it out" I reply. She shrieks and hugs me so tight that I cannot breathe.
"Trina! ......I'm choking" I say and she let's me go.
"Oops! Sorry!" She says. She sees the pictures of me and Jake. The ones we took at the photo booth today and picks them up.
"Awwwm! So cute" she coos.
"You guys look so cute together" she gushes and I blush.
"Oh please Trina! Stop exaggerating!" I spit.
"I'm not exaggerating! Its the truth"
"Okay! I hear ya" I reply and lie in my bed.
I look at the time and its 2:55pm.
"You're so lucky Nicole" Trina tells me.
"Don't get so excited about that! What if he has a girlfriend?" I state bluntly.
Trina furrows her bushy eyebrows at me.
"What makes you think that?" She asks.
"I think that because he has a girl's name tattooed on his arm" I explain.
Trina chuckles.
"Oh Nicole! What if its his mom's name? At least I now know his sister is called Jessica"
"I don't know" I reply.
"Why don't you ask him about it?"Trina says.
I sigh.
" okay. I will next time we meet"
"So the last time you didn't tell me about your crush and you've been really nosy in my life recently so its time I got nosy in yours. Tell me who's the lucky guy?" I ask with a smirk on my face and Trina giggles.
"Its Mason Sanders" she admits.
Was he Kate's brother or he just had that surname?
"Does he have a sister?" I ask
"Yes he has! Kate Sanders! The girl you beat up" Trina says.
"I wonder if we could ever be together after finding out that my sister beat up his sister" Trina confirms.
"Sorry Trina! I didn't know she had a brother and I didn't know you had a crush on him too" I apologize
"Its okay! Mason and I are not meant to be together anyway" she says with a heavy sigh.
"Why do you say that?"
"Because he has a crush on another girl and she's way better than me! Except for the fact that she is a bully!" Trina states.
"I have an idea and I know you would like it." I say and grab a magazine from my drawer.
"What?" Trina asks
"I'm going to do what a big sister has to do! Give you a makeover" I say and Trina grins.
"Its going to be like this! Every morning, I will come to your room and dress you up for school! I just need to check some styles in this magazine" I say and Trina shrieks.
"Trust me sister! You are going to win Mason's heart."
Trina hugs me
"Thanks Nicole" she said
"Its okay" I reply
I open the magazine and look through with Trina.
"This style is nice"Trina says and points to a blonde model wearing a blue tee shirt over dark leggings with vans off the wall and a cobalt blue petty coat.
" yeah! I love it too! The hairstyle is also lovely"I comment.
We turn the page over. It had a girl with dark long hair which was curled. She was wearing a red kimono sleeved blouse over a pair of black leggings and a black and white double decker.
"I like this! Its elegant" I compliment.
"Yeah" Trina agrees
"I think I would dress like this on my first day of school after my suspension" I suggest.
"Yeah! You would look so good" Trina agrees and I mark the page with a smile. I also have the perfect hairstyle to match. I just wish I had a car to complete the whole show but its nothing really.
We looked through more styles.
It grew dark and Trina left to her room to sleep. I texted on my phone for a while before going to bed.
