Chapter 2069
Spending so much effort and money, yet when it fell on Ivy, it seemed like just a light scratch.
Did this woman not care about what people said about her at all?
As far as she knew, the crew had been badmouthing Ivy behind her back for not being a team
player.
Ha! Giselle knew the greed of these people all too well. It was just because they hadn't gotten any
favors from her that they spread nasty rumors about Ivy.
But Ivy's carefree demeanor really got under Giselle's skin!
She was nothing but a social climber through the Balfour connection. What was she putting on airs
for?
Just then, Giselleâs phone rang. She picked it up but didn't answer immediately.
The ringtone buzzed annoyingly near Ivy, who couldn't help but look up, âGiselle, arent you going
to answer your phone?â
Giselle bit her lip, her gaze awkwardly shifting from the caller ID back to Ivy before she finally
answered.
âHello?â
Ivy had no interest in eavesdropping, but Giselle deliberately took the call beside her, letting the
conversation flow to her ears.
âAre you bringing me lunch? No need, I'm not hungry! Yeah, didn't you have Mintz drop off a bunch
of snacks at Ivy's set this morning? I grabbed a bunch too.â
"Yeah..."
It would be hard for Ivy not to know who was on the other end.
âYou don't have to get anything for me; I'm really not hungry. Oh, right, let me ask Ivy if sheâs eaten.
Maybe you can bring her something? Hold on, I'll ask her.â
Ivy looked up to see Giselle's exaggerated smile, her other hand theatrically covering the
mouthpiece. Was all this really necessary?
âIvy, Balfour's offering to bring me lunch. Have you eaten yet? Want him to bring you something
too by the way?â
By the way?
What was Giselle implying? Ivy wasn't foolish. She could read the insinuation. She was just annoyed
that why did she always have to be dragged into their affairs?
She had resolved to earn her money and then leave. Wasn't that enough?
The more upset Ivy felt inside, the calmer her expression presented. She shook her head in reply,
âI've eaten, thanks.â
Giselle instantly put on a wounded act, cooing into the phone, âIvy says she doesn't need it. What a
pity. Then you don't need to come over, go busy yourself..."
Ivy didnât want to endure their contrived conversation any longer and stood up with her script in
hand to find Colton.
âColton.â
Colton, with a lunchbox in his left hand, was scarfing down some bites while his right hand
controlled the playback of a previous scene on the equipment.
He was always a stickler for details, endlessly scrutinizing even the takes that had been perfect on
set, striving for extreme perfection.
He wasn't surprised to hear Ivyâ
voice and glanced up at her, âHey Ivy! Did you eat? If not, have some of mine.â
Colton had the meal catered for the crew. Ivy didnât have any appetite. So she waved it off, âNo
thanks, I nibbled on something. I wanted to discuss this scene with you!!
âI know, the dock scene with the foreigner, right? I figured you'd have questions.â
Colton hastily shoveled a few more mouthfuls before setting his food aside, âLet's hear your
thoughts first. In your eyes, what kind of person is the protagonist?â
