Chapter 1860

Ellinor was in a state of panic. Her mind was a whirlpool of chaos until she saw Theo boot up his

laptop. The sight of the laptop was like a dash of cold water, suddenly bringing her back to her

senses.

Yes, through the computer, they might be able to trace the call that warned them not to contact the

police.

Realizing this, Ellinor hurried over, intending to push Theo aside to access the laptop. “Move over; I

need the computer!”

Theo turned to look at her. His gaze was calm, but filled with worry. “Stay put. Just watch from the

side and leave the rest to me.”

Ellinor was surprised. She wasn't aware that Theo was adept at these unorthodox measures. She was

about to explain that she could infiltrate the mobile system when she saw Theo logging into with an

account named AAAres.

AAAres?!

He was AAAres?!

Ellinor was shocked, but there was no time for questions. After learning that Theo was AAAres, she

relaxed, stood aside, and let him trace the call.

If he were AAAres, his skills were likely superior to hers.

True enough, within a minute, Theo had successfully located the caller's position.

They both stared at the location displayed on the screen, then looked at each other and almost

simultaneously headed for the door.

Theo initially didn't want to involve Ellinor. He didn’t want her to face any danger, but he knew she

would not stay put at home. Rather than let her act recklessly, he decided it was better to keep her

by his side, where he could watch over her.

They hurried downstairs, instructing Grandma, Grandpa, and Veronica to take care of the three

youngsters at home, not do anything else, and not leave the house until they returned.

When Marissa and Putnam were about to ask something, Theo and Ellinor had already left. The

sound of the car engine was already fading into the distance.

Veronica was also worried, but she could only try to soothe the elderly couple. “Don’t worry,

Grandma and Grandpa, my brother and Ellinor are the smartest people in the world. They'll find

Baber.”

But how could they truly be at ease?

The two of them were going to confront the kidnapper. Such people were usually desperate

criminals; what if...

"We still need to alert the police, but not through conventional means. Our house and our phones

are likely being monitored. Grab the laptop from the back of the car, hack into the police system,

contact them, and tell them to proceed cautiously.” He said to Ellinor as the car sped down the

road.

Ellinor nodded. “I understand.”

As she responded, she turned to reach for the laptop on the little table in the back.

Meanwhile.

On a barren mountain in the Greenhaven suburbs, a child was locked in a one-meter-tall dog cage

inside a cave, where he was sleeping soundly. There was no light in the cave, only the faint glow of a

dying fire. The burning fire brought a slight warmth to the cold, dark cave.

Baber woke up feeling cold. He hadn't fallen asleep naturally; he'd been drugged. Now that the

effect of the drug had worn off, he was uncomfortable from the cold and had a severe headache.

After rubbing his eyes, Baber sat up and saw his surroundings, leaving him in a state of confusion.

Where was he? Was he still dreaming?

“You're awake, kiddo.”
