Chapter 1787
Things could get really messed up if they were not careful.
Now that Lea was being restrained and was unable to fight back, Sheila was beaming with
arrogance. âTsk, tsk, tsk, what's the matter? Can't touch me now, huh? Weren't you all badass just a
moment ago?â
Lea was fuming. She wanted to break free from her mom's grip and give Sheila what she deserved.
Bertha whispered to her daughter. âLea, keep your cool. We can't make things worse for your Aunt
Marlinie.â
But Lea had never been one to take things lying down. âMom, but she...â
âLea, behave yourselfâ
Sheila let out a big laugh. She was finally venting out the frustration she initially felt when facing her
father, so she continued to throw insults at them, brandishing a kitchen knife to keep them from
running away.
Tracy joined her daughter in mocking Marlinie and Bertha.
However, just then, the doorbell rang, followed by the shrill sound of the upstairs intercom.
The noise startled Tracy and Sheila, who exchanged anxious glances.
Who could it be?
Could it be that Arnold had returned from the neighbor's place?
After exchanging glances, Tracy reached out to her daughter. âSheila, give me the knife! You go
downstairs and see if your dad is back. If it's him, try to keep him away.â
Sheila handed the kitchen knife to her mother, nodded, and turned to leave.
Seeing that Arnold might have been the one at the door, Marlinie attempted to dash out alongside
Sheila, but her actions provoked Tracy, who instinctively swung the knife in her hand. âDonât you
dare run!â
Ahh!
Marlinie screamed in pain and fell to the floor while clutching her arm in pain. So much blood was
seeping out.
Bertha and Lea were both frightened. They never thought they'd actually use the knife.
Bertha rushed to help Marlinie. âMarlinie, are you okay?"
Seeing the blood, Lea, being a child, was terrified and broke down in tears. âMarlinie, are you okay?
Help...someone help!â
Tracy was also scared. She acted instinctively without thinking Marlinie would get hurt, but the cut
was deeper than she expected. Blood was gushing out.
Her eyes widened in shock, and she gasped.
Oh God! She didn't just kill someone, did she?!
"What the hell do you think you're doing?! How could you actually hurt someone?! Call an
ambulance now!â Bertha urgently demanded while trying to support her best friend.
