Chapter 1769
Belinda's cheeks flushed a vibrant pink. âWhat are you doing? Ms. Gipson and Ellinor are right here!
Let go of me; behave yourself!â
Chase flashed her a cheeky grin. âIt's alright. They're practically family. Have you picked out your
wedding dress yet? Can I see?â
Belinda struggled to free herself from his grip. âStop messing around!â
Ida glanced at Chase with an expression of nonchalance, then turned her attention back to Ellinor,
heading over for a chat with her.
Chase, undeterred, carried on. âSee? Ida knows when to give us space. No third wheeling for her.â
Belinda was mortified. âI knew I shouldn't have let you come!â
Ellinor didn't pay much attention to Chase and Belinda's intimate banter. Instead, she chose to catch
up with Ida about the recent happenings within Thaddeusâ company. As they chatted, her cell phone
buzzed.
Checking the screen, she saw an unknown number.
Normally, Ellinor wouldn't answer unidentified calls, but she feared it might be him using a different
number, so she picked up without hesitation.
However, it wasn't a man's voice on the other end of the line, but a young girl's familiar tone. âIs this
Ellinor?â
Ellinor furrowed her brows as she tried to recognize the voice. âMmm, it's me.â
The girl, Lea, spoke, âEllinor, do you remember me? I'm Lea! You saved my mom. You're her angel!
We met in the restroom of that restaurant.â
By now, Ellinor had already identified the voice, so she wasn't surprised.
However, given that the girl was Thaddeus's daughter, she couldn't help but be a bit wary. âWhat do
you need?â
Lea politely responded, âI got your number from Tristan, and I wanted to know if you had some time
this afternoon. My mom and I have something important to discuss with you in person.â
Thaddeus's wife and daughter wanted to meet her?
Ellinor was unaware of Bertha and Lea's current situation. She had no clue about their departure
from home or Berthaâs intention to divorce Thaddeus. She found the situation a bit peculiar.
After considering it, she said, âIf you're here to express your gratitude, it's not necessary.â
Lea quickly clarified. âNo, it's not about that. Ellinor, my mom and I need to discuss something else
with you. It's vitally important to you!â
Something important to her? Could it be related to Marcus and Tristan?
Ellinor couldn't help but be intrigued. âWhat is it?â
"Well... it's not really suitable to discuss this over the phone. Ellinor, when you have time, let's meet
in person. You can choose the place.â
Ellinor pondered for a moment. âAlright, I'll text this number later with the time and place.â
Lea sounded relieved. âGreat! Ellinor, we'll see you soon, then.â
After hanging up, Ellinorâs face bore a puzzled expression.
Ida noticed her boss's strange demeanor. âBoss, who wants to meet you?â
Ellinor snapped back to reality and locked eyes with Ida. âIt's Thaddeusâ little girl.â
