Chapter 1741

Upon the mention of Ellinor, Sophia’s face stiffened a bit. “She... she..... she’s an old friend of yours.

She was involved with Mr. Rex, so it's only natural you'd find her familiar.”

As she spoke, she diligently observed the changes in the man’s expressions.

Marcus nodded, looking somewhat puzzled. “Really?”

His confusion both worried Sophia that he might remember something and relieved her that he

hadn't recalled anything so far.

“Um... enough of that! We're here to have fun; let's not talk about them. Here, Marcus, I brought

some fruit slices. You and Tristan should have some. Our next stop is a famous lake in Greenhaven;

the scenery there has a classic charm.”

Marcus accepted the plate of fruit slices from Sophia, placing it on the small table in the RV. He

didn't eat any himself, but he picked up a slice of apple with a fork and handed it to his son.

“Have some fruit.”

Tristan was daydreaming. His mind had been elsewhere since he saw Ellinor.

His thoughts were all about his beloved Ellinor, only returning to reality when he heard his father's

voice. He accepted the fruit slice and awkwardly put it in his mouth.

Sophia noticed Tristan’s change too. Recently, her attention had been focused on Marcus, so she

hadn't paid much attention to the boy. She almost forgot about the mix-up Tristan had with another

kid from Ellinor’s side.

The kid raised by Ellinor was more outspoken and troublesome than Tristan, and he talked a lot.

And now, this boy seemed to have reverted back to being like Tristan. He was quiet and often lost in

thought.

“Tristan?” Sophia tried calling him.

Tristan instantly looked up at her and frowned unhappily. “What?”

He responded very quickly, almost immediately looking at her when he heard his name.

The other boy, whose real name wasn't Tristan, would always take a few seconds to look at her

whenever his name was called.

What was going on? Did the two boys switch back when she wasn't aware?

Thinking about this left Sophia feeling a bit scared, so she asked the boy another question to test

him. “Tristan, what were you daydreaming about just now? What were you thinking? Your mom and

dad brought you out to have fun. Why are you so distracted?”

Tristan sulked, and his unhappy frown deepened. “Now you're even going to control my

daydreaming? You're really boring!”

Sophia was dumbfounded.

This kid was so sharp-tongued and direct. He was nothing like the old Tristan.

Tristan was usually the kind who was quiet but stubborn. He wouldn't listen to anyone, but he

wouldn't confront people directly.

Was this really Tristan?

Sophia was confused. She glanced at Marcus, who was closing his eyes and meditating, oblivious to

the outside world.

Whatever!

Whether Marcus remembered anything or not, she had to take him back to M State immediately.

As for Ellinor and her three kids, someone would naturally clean up after them

Thinking of this, a vicious glint flashed in Sophia's eyes. She grabbed a slice of watermelon and

chewed it vigorously, as if she were wishing she could chew up that wretched Ellinor.

Ellinor and Bartlett arrived at an Italian restaurant. They didn't ask for a private room but found

themselves a seat in the main dining area. Bartlett clearly wasn't happy about it. “Ellinor, I asked the

manager, and there are seats available upstairs, so why don't we go up there?” Ellinor sat down on

her own. “If you want to sit upstairs, you can go by yourself. I like it here, so I'm staying here. We

can eat separately if need be."
