Chapter 1560
She'd had this nagging feeling over the past couple of days that she and her kids were being
watched. And it didnât seem to be mere paranoia.
Even the middle-aged man selling balloons at her doorstep earlier today seemed suspect.
A vendor who hadn't prepared a method of payment, claiming he'd been flustered and had
forgotten? In a high-end neighborhood instead of downtown?
She feared he had ulterior motives. He was possibly targeting her children.
She knew that if Sophia found out about the other two kids she'd had with Theo, she might be up
to her old tricks again. It looked like she couldn't leave the country anytime soon.
She had to be on high alert and keep a close eye on her kids.
While looking up at the already-rising moon, Ellinor sighed and pulled out her phone to call
Balfour.
She wouldn't be able to accompany him to M State to meet the famous artist, Lady Lotus. What a
pity!
Balfour reassured her over the phone, promising to keep her updated on any developments.
After hanging up, Ellinor felt mentally drained from all the worrying. She turned back to her room
from the balcony, ready for some rest.
Meanwhile, in M State, someone was already waiting for him.
Greenhaven Hotel.
Sophia had arranged a meeting for the afternoon. Before leaving, she prepared a light meal for
Marcus and Tristan, eating with them before she left.
It was only when Sophia had left that the suiteâs atmosphere relaxed.
Adrian put down his fork, letting out a relieved sigh. âFinally, sheâs gone!â
Marcus looked at his son's relieved expression, gently wiping away some crumbs from the corner of
his mouth. âYou really don't like being around Sophia, huh?â Adrian replied honestly, âNo, I really
don't like her. I miss my mommy! Now that Sophiaâs gone, can you take me home to see her? I can
introduce you to her!â Marcus raised an eyebrow. âIt's not that I don't want to take you to see your
mom, but we simply can't leave this hotel. Sophia has arranged everything. The hotel management
and her secret arrangements won't let me take you out alone. And my physical condition doesnât
permit us to take other routes.â
Adrian looked at Marcus, sitting in his wheelchair, and sighed sympathetically. âDad, I feel sorry for
you. You have no freedom. If Mommy knew I was here, she would definitely get us out.â
Suddenly, his eyes lit up. âOh! How could I forget? I can call Mommy and let her come find us!â
With that, the little guy hopped off his chair and started running towards the telephone.
âDon't touch that phone.â
Marcus saw what he was planning and quickly stopped him.
Adrian stopped. âWhy? Sophia has already left.â
Marcus explained, âIf she finds out about the call, you'll never see your mom again. Be obedient;
don't touch the phone.â
Adrian pouted in disappointment. âOh...â
