Chapter 1337
Ida and Byran joined in to get a closer look.
Balfour dusted off his hands, stood up, gathered his crew, and instructed them to follow the tire
tracks.
Then, they each got in their cars and followed the tracks.
Out in the suburbs, at the abandoned factory, the ground was muddy, so any car would leave clear
tracks, but when they hit the asphalt road leading to the county town, the tracks disappeared.
They had to stop and rely on the traffic network to check road surveillance and then began filtering
out suspicious vehicles.
Since there weren't many cars entering the county from the suburbs at night, they quickly zeroed in
on a suspicious van and hit the road again.
Following the route caught on surveillance, they soon found a bungalow in a narrow alley.
A locked iron gate stood in front of the bungalow. They could hear menâs voices and smell the
barbecue from within.
Balfour, Chase, Ida, and Byran got out of the car and walked into the narrow alley.
They didn't drive over on purpose, so as not to tip off anyone inside with the sound of the engine.
They hid and observed from a concealed spot. All the houses around were dark and quiet. Only one
yard was lit, with rowdy sounds coming from inside.
Byran frowned and whispered anxiously, âBalfour, do you think Ellinor went to the ruins looking for
Theo and got taken here? There are so many men inside, you don't think they've...â
Balfour's face darkened, and he clenched his fists. âShut up! Keep it down!â
Byran lowered his head. He knew he should be quiet, but he was very worried about Ellinor. The
thought of her being taken by those men made him want to charge in right
away.
Ida adjusted her gold-framed glasses. âYou guys wait here; I'll try to sneak in.â
Chase put a hand out to stop her, coolly saying, âThere are too many men inside. If our boss is
there, your late-night visit will only alert them.â
Ida frowned. âSo what do you suggest?â
âLet's watch a bit longer.â
Byran couldn't help but ask, âWhat if they finish eating and then start... with Ellinor?â
Chase was also worried, but for the sake of the boss's safety, he couldn't act rashly. âLet's all keep
our cool. Right now, our boss is pregnant. They wouldn't just kidnap someone for sexual desires.
There must be another reason as to why they brought her here.â
Byran found Chase's explanation reasonable. He nearly forgot Ellinor was pregnant.
Just then, Balfour signaled for them to quiet down.
The other three immediately fell silent.
Then they heard the crude banter of the men in the yard.
"Our boss went into that pregnant woman's room, right? Why hasnât he come out yet?â
âDo you think the boss would even take a pregnant woman?â
âHe's the man; he doesn't care about the woman's huge belly being in the way!â
âHahaha...â
âYou guys love to talk smack! If he hears you, he'll beat the hell out of you!"
