Chapter 1229

Ellinor slapped Theo's hand away, prompting an annoyed squint from him.

“Ellinor! Do you realize I..."

“Theo, heading for the bathroom too?” Sophia emerged from the restroom.

Theo's words died on his lips.

Sophia slid up next to Ellinor, hooking arms with her nonchalantly. “Theo, I've already met Ms.

Mendoza in the ladies’ room. Don’t worry, I'll help her find Granny. Go on and do your thing!”

Theo shot Sophia an indifferent glance, said nothing more, and turned to enter the men’s restroom

Once he was out of sight, Ellinor wiggled her arm free from Sophia's grip, straightened her sleeve,

and started striding away.

Sophia caught up with her. “Ellinor, seems like Theo cares about you, doesn't he?”

Ellinor snorted. “Does he?”

"Absolutely! I've known Theo for over 20 years, and I can tell when he’s got the hots for a girl. So cut

him some slack, okay?" Ellinor looked at Sophia with a skeptical gaze. “You, as Theo's legit wife,

want me to make up with him?”

Sophia laughed it off. “Yes! I hope you and Theo can make amends. I promise I won't get mad.”

Ellinor rolled her eyes in exasperation. “You've lost it!"

She headed towards the restaurant exit, but Sophia grabbed her. “Ellinor, where are you going?

Granny is waiting for you!”

Ellinor shook off Sophia's grip. “I'm full. I'm not going back. Ms. Sophia, you can say goodbye to

Marissa for me.”

She tried to stride away, but Sophia darted in front of her. “No can do! I can't let you leave like this.

If you go, Theo will think I said something nasty to you.”

Ellinor smirked. “You think you didn't?"

Sophia shrugged. “I was just honest with you about my feelings. I made it clear that I don’t mind

you and Theo temporarily making up. Did I say something that gave you the wrong idea? You

walking out like this makes me look bad!”

Ellinor remained expressionless. “That's sickening enough! You two are a match made in heaven!

One pretends to be single and deceives others’ feelings, even though he’s married. The other plays

the magnanimous wife, allowing her husband to hurt other women! You're both awful!”

Sophia laughed it off. “Oh, Ms. Mendoza, lighten up! Many girls wish they could get a chance to be

hurt by Theo. And you even have his child. I think Theo is pretty good to you.”

Ellinor was about to throw up; her face was a picture of resignation. “Move!”

Sophia stood her ground. “No way! I already said that I can't let you leave like this!"
