When Veronica got the address from Belinda, she immediately changed her clothes, grabbed her

phone, and bolted out to find her grandma.

Marissa Blanchet was in her room, hand-making a piece of clothing for her not-yet-born great-

grandchild. She was sewing with all her heart.

Ellinor had run away from home. It was unclear whether she would return, but Marissa never

stopped hoping. These unfinished clothes were her only solace.

“Granny!” Veronica burst into the room, startling Marissa so much that she pricked her finger with

the needle.

"Ouch! Veronica, why did you barge in like that?” Marissa expressed exasperation as she removed

the needle, dabbing at the blood on her finger with a

tissue.

Seeing this, Veronica immediately expressed concern. “Are you okay, Grandma?”

Marissa wiped the small amount of blood off her finger, tossed the tissue away, and frowned at

Veronica, scolding. “I'm fine now, but one of these days you're going to give me a heart attack!

Don't you know how to knock?”

Veronica felt guilty and apologized. “I'm sorry, Grandma. I was in a rush!”

“Alright, spill it. What's got you in such a tizzy?”

“Grandma! Ellinor's back!”

Upon hearing this, Marissa’s eyes lit up. “What? Ellinor's back? Where is she? Take me to her!”

With that, she started heading out the door.

"Wait, Grandma! Hold your horses; let me finish! Ellinor hasn't come home; she's out at a restaurant

with my brother.”

Marissa was overjoyed. “So that means Theo knows Ellinor's back too? That's great! But why are

they eating out? They should come home and eat. I'll prepare Ellinor’s favorite dishes when they

return tonight.”

Veronica felt a wave of frustration. “Grandma, it's not as simple as you think. Belinda told me there

might be some issues between them. They might be discussing ending their relationship!”

Marissa’s smile faded. “Ending? Ellinor's about to give birth, and they're talking about ending

things? What could Theo be thinking? He finally found her, and instead of bringing her home, he's

talking about ending things?!”

Veronica took her grandma's arm. “That's why Belinda wants me to take you there, so you could put

some pressure on my brother to apologize to Ellinor, or she might leave again and he won't be able

to find her!”

Marissa made a swift decision. “Alright! I'm going! I must go! Veronica, take me to Ellinor now!”

Veronica couldn't help but chuckle at how anxious her usually composed grandma was. “Grandma,

you're rushing so much that you forgot your coat! Don't worry, Belinda's there; they won't leave

right away.”

Without giving a thought to her appearance, Marissa grabbed a coat from her wardrobe, put it on,

and hurriedly pulled Veronica out the door.

However, as soon as they stepped out of the room, they ran into Sophia, who was carrying two

boxes of pastries to visit Marissa.

Sophia greeted them with a polite smile. “Where are you off to in such a hurry?”

Marissa looked a bit conflicted. “Veronica and I have something to take care of. Sophia, what brings

you here?”

Sophia cheerfully lifted the boxes of pastries. “I managed to get these popular pastries that

everyone's raving about, and I thought I'd bring some for you to try!”
